    Howdy Eric Nice video. Is there much pressure on a flare line?

    • @MrEric_API

      Doug, thanks.
      No there usually isn't a lot of pressure. The only time the flare line will see pressure is during its emergency use. Then the pipe will see pressure depending on a whole bunch of variables, like pressure, size of pipe of the flare, the flare line, and the piping feeding into the flare system. Most systems change to a larger pipe to allow a pressure drop at the connection.
      I'll release a video I have of when a flare system has a bunch of gas volume at high pressure dumped.
      I'll have to adjust the volume though, otherwise it would not be safe for hearing......

    Hi. Very interesting video. Keep uploading inspection videos since it will be useful for someone new me. May I know what is your recommendation to client with the amount of corrosion you have found with the pipe? Sectional replace? Or the pipe is still fit for service?

    Would you make a recommendation with regards to that SS U-Bolt on CS Piping?

      If I recall correctly the U bolts were zinc coated. MrEric

    Are these pipe run showed in video are supported with tight U bolt/0 gap U bolt, and are these flare lines have high temperatures

    • @MrEric_API
      @MrEric_API  Před 6 měsíci

      Great question. No, they are supported by the steel structural supports and the U bolts are holding them solid to those supports. The flare piping doesn't get hot per say, as it is supplying gas to the flare, which is burned at the end of or top of the flare. Mr.Eric

      Internal corrosion can be found by UT thickness OR profile radiography

    • @MrEric_API
      @MrEric_API  Před 3 lety

      Good question.
      Here is the United States, it is an API inspector. It is the governing organization in many countries in the world. It is the origin of all things oil. The is not the case in all countries however. It varies depending upon which country the activity is in. Many other countries have their own or otherwise different organizations that certify or regulate inspectors and their inspections.
