Any 1½ to 2 inch (35-50mm) wide wood chisel will work. This particular brand and style (Buck bros) is a favorite of mine, but any local available wood chisel can be adapted. Perhaps I'll make a video about what is the same and what i have changed about these to use for inspection. Mr Eric
There are many different types of corrosion and then even erosion. There is usually a mixture of corrosion and erosion present in Heat exchangers. Mr Eric

The cleanup you see in the video was from a powered wire wheel. It is in a condition that would allow it to return to service without additional work.

so was this cover pulled from service or just given a clean up with a wire wheel?
Pressure washed and buffed with power wire wheel. No significant thickness of product material still adhered.
