    TRANSCRIPT:
I knew nothing about HIV until I was 18.
I had no idea about getting tested for infections and condoms.
For 2 whole years I went about living life day by day not caring if I got infected.
I held my silence for so long that it came, that I became numb to those around me.
It was really nice having someone I can be compatible to and someone I can share something with so when we have sex I didn’t feel I needed a condom.
Knowing that I’m a gay male, that I’m a Latino and that I have a higher risk of contriving HIV has led me down the road of HIV prevention and awareness.
It was a big shocker to me considering at that time my sexual practices were not the most safe.
I was angry. I felt sad to know that somebody so young had become infected with HIV. I want to be part of his support system. I want to help him out as much as I could
And it set off an alarm inside of me because clearly being quiet is not the answer.
What I want to say to all of us, is that different struggles happen to us in life.
In that moment, I realized, it wasn’t for me to have it was for me to be there for support.
Sometimes you have to advocate for yourself.
It made me want to get educated, made me want to volunteer.
I started to think about what is my life worth?
I chose to be empowered with knowledge and support system so that this epidemic would miss me
HIV ends with me cuz I'm going to bring it up. I'm talking about it.
Be educated about treatment and prevention and how you affected whether or not you're infected.
    It’s time to talk.
I’m here to speak out for people who feel like that they are alone.
To those who feel disconnected from their family, or those who feel like they don’t have a community.
Because when you live in a world without a Superman, it’s time for you to be the Superman.
I speak out to let us know that we will be okay and I need you to survive just like I need to survive.
I speak out for and to all the trans women that go through , that went through what I went through
You're not in this alone we can do it, we can beat it, we’re a community.
This is the moment when I speak out and this is the moment when my story changes.
