Got my Hammock hot tent out on the Easter long. Nothing beats walking into a warm tent on a cool evening after sitting around the camp TV.

Hiya from the uk. Great video, very informative. One Tigris instructions (if any) are not very explicit. This tent is designed to be hung from a ridge line using the black hoops at each end (Using Prussics) this then becomes an adjuster to slide along the ridge line if necessary or to raise/lower. The brass grommets are to allow the use of tent poles if using the tent free standing! Waiting for the next one!

Hey Michael, imagine for a moment that OneTigris offered this tent (or on very similar) with an option for a lightweight simple internal frame and a snow flap/mud skirt for extra $$. One ridge pole and an "A" support at each end (extending from the peak to each bottom corner) all collapsible. The frame would be very similar to snowtrekker canvas tent frame, but it wouldn't have to be as robust due the lighter load/weight of nylon or taffeta vs 7-10oz treated canvas. This would eliminate over HALF of the ridiculous amount of pegs (20!) and guy lines required to safely erect this tent in windy conditions, AND eliminate the need for two trees the right space apart. A lightweight wedge hot tent in rip-stop nylon (or taffeta) would definitely be game changer for winter and shoulder season camping/fishing/hunting. There could even be a shorter version for cots and ground sleep systems not requiring as much length to accommodate 11ft hammocks for example - perhaps various floor plans of 8x9ft or 8x10ft. I believe a simple and affordable internal lightweight frame design would benefit the outdoor adventure community seeking a mobile lightweight freestanding hot-tent that doesn't cost $1500-2000 cad. Just trying to get the message out to the outdoor community and light a fire under OneTigris to advance their R&D department towards filling this need and disrupting the hot-tent space and availability, especially in Canada
Totally agree!! I saw this video many years ago czcams.com/video/I53zxRE7kEM/video.html from Wawhiker and loved the idea. Not quite an A-frame but simular. For light weight, most companies go for the tipi design, which has some major flaws in snow/rain and setup, unlike the A frame style. But you have me thinking if I could buy the poles and make this free standing 💡 However, nylon will never beat the canvas used for traditional winter tents in my opinion, despite the extra weight 😉 - Thanks for the great idea 👍

Who has $1500-$2000cad to drop on a lightweight canvas internal frame hot tent? I had a snowterkker 8x8 many moons ago but sold it, been kickin my ass ever since. I still have the receipt $943usd ($1278cad...back then!) But a about a year ago OneTigris came out with this model (ROCDOMUS) and wow, it's soooo close to being the prototype for a light weight wedge style internal frame nylon hot tent. I ordered te ROCDOMUS and it's on the way. I'm going to make a video demonstrating the ease of use for a potential lightweight internal frame and forward it to OneTigris in hopes that their R&D department will consider becoming the first ever to produce and offer an affordable lightweight internal frame nylon (or taffeta) hot tent with snow/mud flaps that's desperately needed in this space. Also, thank you for producing some beautifully filmed and edited videos of the outdoors, very well done!

Hi Michael !! Thanks for another enjoyable video. That was such beautiful weather for camping. The hammok has it's advantages....but for me the cot is probably the better choice in terms of getting out of for heating the stove...can be used for sitting and is less in the way. Thanks again for bring us along and showing this set up and give a great big hug to Esme!!

Hey Mark, unless you are camping at very cold temperatures a good tarp, under quilt and top quilt/sleeping bag is plenty. This would be great for below -15c 👍

I usually camp March to October, but I'm looking at some sort of a hot tent set set up to extend my camping seasons... Considering the Northgaze or Rock Fortress.... I would rather hammock though.
The problem mainly is that I'm in my 60's and due to a combination of dickie ticker, bad circulation, blood thinners and Raynaud's syndrome, I get cold very easily and struggle to warm up...
The wonders of getting old lol. I'm not complaining though, as I have known a few that didn't that chance..

@@marktaylor4674 Hey Mark - That makes sense. I like the NorthGaze, and its a great size for one + dog and would work well for true 4 season camping. The Rocdomus is not too bad to setup, looks worse in the video but with a few tweaks it would be much simpler. Depending on portability, I also enjoy the TETON cot tent setup, as this provides great comfort for those people who hate floor sleeping 👍

Hi from the south of England…great vid.
Today I set up a new to me One Tigris Tegimen hammock hot tent which was their first version…..comes with no instructions but pretty straight forward really. Mine does have skirts but has no vents at all which is a bit odd. Does have 2 stove jacks fitted though which is nice so you can go through side wall rather than the roof which is what I’ll probably do once I save some pennies get a stove for the winter and that’ll minimise risk of burning the roof. Great size at 12.5 x 6.5ft so plenty of room for big feller like me plus hammock or cots/mats, stove, all the kit and the trusty banjo to while away away a few hours on them rainy days…shweet!
That axe seemed to perform really well…maybe the wood was a bit frozen helping it to pop?
Also a Jeep fan…currently in a kJ but had tj’s an yj’s previously…unlimited is next on my wish list to try…one day 🤔
Thanks for the info on the Tegimen - I was torn on what model to buy but I ended up chasing the Rocdomus as it was a new model and a little lighter. I wish the Rocdomus had 2 chimney opening but its not a big deal as you can just rotate the tent 180 to get it to the other side. Loving the axe so far and it performing way about what I thought! 😮 Jeeps are cool - This year I'll be pushing the Jeep into some remote locations and really testing the 4x4 capabilities! 😉 Best wishes from Canada 🇨🇦
Some mud flappage behind the front tires will suppress the “rendering” all over the sides of your Jeep.

Thanks Michael. Esme was so good. The Rocdomus is bigger than I thought. I always liked Onetigris. I use the Onetigris Tigersden (no longer for sale). It is a Baker Style tent. They also make lots of accessories for Esme too. Best regards

Survival Tip : And this is a very important one! Always take your new tent to your backyard or a park and set it up. You will learn what you need to bring, figuring out the process etc. Then when you are out in the woods, setting up your tent, you aren't up shits creek without a paddle.

The tent looked like a lot of set up. At least for me. The double tree morf thing was really cool. I love how nature just does what it wants. The tree stump you were splitting wood on was massive. That looks cozy…. Think it would still work with the ENO tandem hammock spreader system and not touch the wood stove so you could have 2 hammocks in the tent?

Did he say he didn’t want it to look like a well-practiced person trying to sell you something but put a price tag on everything he uses? He was out there with $1000 worth of gear.
I make videos for people like myself who like gear. I put the prices and brands on the items to save people time looking them up. I'm not a store and only make a small amount of money from my Amazon links which helps cover fuel costs...sometimes.
