Man JW. Never cease to impress. Your willingness to do the work is very admirable! Dunno but seems like ya just made a whole new bed. I am not even sure what ya reused! Plus seeing the off road wrecker always cheers me up! Before you went "full steam ahead" (lol) that was easily my favorite project you were filming. I was awestruck that ya thought of such a device! Hope it gets on a burner again! Cheers
For something that was built with a lot of skill and recycled materials it sure does look like a new factor built roll back. Great video Jonathan W Be proud of a job well done.
That is an impressive bed that you have welded together and straightened out. I like the Red, White and Blue idea that way you don't have to repaint the cab, but it's your call. That is quite a truck you have put together. Thanks for showing us the progress.
Johnathon, I really like how you built this rollback! I really enjoy seeing the progress and updates. It will soon be done and a machine to be proud of.
Back in the day I was certifided by the state and the coast guard as a welder, the state was Iowa. From my view in front of the computer your welds look very profesional!
I remember him saying when he started this project he was building it so he could go get something. Its going to be good! Best channel I subscribe to. Thanks for the best sir. Jim
USA NJ blonde walking down the street sees a blonde blowing in the tailpipe what are you doing trying to get the dent out of my hood that ain't going to work you got to roll up the windows
I appreciate your efforts too build your equipment in a way that works for you.I have helped built and driven log trucks in the north west.there is nothing more frustrating than getting too a job and something wasn't placed right and a air line or something not placed right and you end up fighting your equipment nothing like personal experience to design something that works for you thanks 👍
I've seen every wrecker you've built brother. I think that you missed your calling. You should've gone into the wrecker building business instead of towing. Every one you've built has been so much better than factory built ones. Stay safe brother!!!!
OK,… After 12 years of watching my first comment…! Jonathon, I can’t tell you how many times you have helped me through my life! I chose to leave a job that was killing me, and I found you, and you were first start videos…! I prayed for the longest time that you would stop smoking, and you did!!! I am pretty sure that you and I share our faith in Jesus and his restorative and resurrection power! Neither of us care what other people think and that is why I’m posting my comment…! I think you for the influence of your genius and your humility in my life! I am incredibly grateful for who you have become, and who you are becoming…!!…, Glad to know you, sir!! Peace and blessings to you and all of yours. I hope this post makes sense to you and all of yours….
My dads philosophy was always build heavier than you need it. That philosophy has always worked out. He used to build wrecker beds for one ton trucks back in the 1970’s after he got off his full time job of metal fabrication. He’d work 10 hour days at his full time job and then come home and work building these beds in his small shop. All he had was an Lincoln Ac 225 stick welder, a Lincoln SA 200 gas welder an acetylene torch and a small metal brake he built himself. Any of the pieces he couldn’t do at home he did them on his thirty minute lunch break at his full time job. The company he worked for allowed their employees the use of their equipment on a limited basis. He would custom build each bed to the customers specifications and even install them on the trucks with a heavy duty come a long. He wasn’t a high school graduate but he got drafted during the Korean War. He was naturally very good at math. He always amazed me with his knowledge on a variety of things for a man with limited education. He learned a lot of things by just doing them himself out of necessity and limited finances. He probably learned some things from some old timers early in his life.
You’ve done a phenomenal job as usual! You’ve also learned that it would be quicker and easier to start from scratch and not deal with old carnage! But you seem to think like the rest of us, time is something that we get that doesn’t cost us, other than costing us time. It’s a strange universe we live in! Can’t wait for the next installment!
I did fabrication for over 37 years and I think it’s looking good Jonathon! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 From bolts and dogs and wedges, brother and there’s no rules! You do whatever works my friend! Good luck brother! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 It takes one hell of a man to do everything by yourself! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice bed nice work. I bet that is very heavy duty its not going to break or wear out. Nice runnning diesel engine good recycle from the chicken manure spreader truck you find some great stuff.Yes red white and blue would look so nice.
Yes sir! That's a tool that will double your income You can hire another driver too... Now that everyone can't drive correctly anymore. Miss Rona is working on all of us...Working on my sinus and equilibrium, I'm still smoking...
It aint the expense of buying a new rig, you just dont end up with the rig that suits. Yeah there is some work here, but its YOUR work with YOUR ideas on YOUR rig. Good stuff Man, its done right.
Jonathan, you are amazing, I am glad there are talented people like you around but boy it’s rare to find anyone with your level of expertise, I’m still amazed you getting the crane going and out of the woods I thought it was impossible and this rollback looked like a hopeless case but I knew when you took it on there I was going to see you turn it into a success
Thanks for sharing Jonathon, Kirk from Louisiana sending prayers and positive vibes to you and your family! Stay safe my friend! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸✌🏻✌🏻🙋🏼
I’m astonished, as always, at your sheer knowledge and perseverance where most of us wouldn’t know where to start. Congratulations on near completion I hope it serves you well 👍
If you used angle iron on the bed, there would be a good reason. BTW well done in kicking the smoking habit, you pass it off as a small thing but it shows your determination and strength of character to do so. A work colleague of mine was told by his doctor to quit or...... He could not to save his own life. Respect to Jonathan for that (oh and his little DIY projects ha ha)
Looks fantastic , Johnathan ! All in good time , & that's a tank . Put some paint on it , & those polished aluminum rims , with those new tires , & this is pretty much a new rig . Made from new & old parts , in America , by an American , who knows what he's doing , where "can't" is not an option , but "Will" is . God bless you , man ! I don't see how any of it would go to waste on you , sir . Just saying . Nice Rig ! Nice Job .
Looking good Jonathon! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Yeah that perforated material looks good for a bbq grill my friend! lol 😂👍🏻 That OSPHO rust killer is great stuff for rusty metal and it’s a primer coating too, Jonathon! I’ve used it a lot in the past! I’ve used a 1” turnbuckle for pulling gaps together and you can modify them just the length you need!
Thats a bunch of welding! Typical Jonathan project too, pulleys ,chains, trucks, forklifts, all working together to build something with only one man pulling the levers. Thats why your so incredible.
I got 2 internationals one is 1996 4700 7.3 ..5 speed i just bought another one last year its a 2000 model 4700 dt 466 6 speed i got over 26000 in. It now its got 21 foot jerr dan steel bed same tires and rims as the one you building what i sayings is you got nice rollback there cause i feel like i got good deal on mine ( low mile ) cause ever body trying to buy it .great video super nice rollback great job
Excellent video Johnathan W :) also like how bed turned out too and colors to I like 👍! Think be pretty sweet when all done and decals of company name plus information and weight be great 👍 to have on cab too! Well Done Johnathan W :) and I am impressed too!
That's gonna be one fine rig when the last detail is finished. Yeah, polished aluminum and clearcoated. When the paint's done curing, buffed and ceramic coated.
Just remember by reusing your reducing your carbon footprint 😂!Anyways are you going to put any spot lights to assist in extracting some of the wrecks you’ve shown us? It would probably be a great safety feature.Otherwise it’s another great project and video!!
Wowm !! Sure looks like you have NO INTENTION of retiring anytime soon !! Looks like you plan on carrying lots more "heavy iron" also !! Very nice indeed !!!
I’ve always wondered why more service trucks don’t have flood lights to illuminate work areas in the dark. I drive tractor trailer and can’t see people working in the dark until the last minute., especially when flashing lights are bright.
Congratulations on the successful work on the roll frame and bed. It’s looking great and works very smooth. You put your accumulated knowledge to good work but also you do an astounding amount of work each day / week / month you are an inspiration.
I don't know if Jonathan will read this, But one reason I love watching his video's is his Can do Spirit, just like my friends and I, we make it work.😊
Nice work as always. Is that the 4wd rotator project in the back? That was such a cool outside the box project. Keep it up. Youre a machine. You motivate,
You're gonna mess around and have a really cool slide back.😊 But you can't expect anything else from you.👍👍 Ps I see that you still have the rotator project I've been wandering what happened to it thought you just didn't filmed it. Just on hold.
Your comment about blowing out the dents with an air hose made me remember an old episode of Saturday Night Live when they introduced the new Adobe Automobile! Made from Adobe, if you have a boo boo, just rub it out!!😅
Looks great! What a way to recycle a rig. Old school is still good school!
even better!
no school like old school
