If you owe it they’ll go to court in your absence and take it through an attachment to earnings order if you’re working!!😡 They’ll make sure they get it because they need it to keep the immigrants warm and comfortable.!!
Only a court can order an attachment to earnings order, not the council.

The local authorities pass it onto dept collection agencies who in turn get it to magistrates. Then you notice a AEO on your wages unfortunately.!! It happened to me a couple of years ago.!!
I don’t know but I evaded it for 18 months then got slammed with the AE order.! I get paid monthly so every month they deducted my wages I was also charged a £1 fee too😡 maybe a handling fee or something.?? After 6 months I got intouch with the council and quite reluctantly set a direct debit up!! I paid the arrears off at a small amount monthly along with the normal monthly fee.😡 I hate this country😡
The mistake you made is to open your door. Bailiffs have been known to push past the door to enter. Don't open your door. Its your last line of defence.

Well the guy didn't 'deal' with anything . He appeared to be the usual rude, inarticulate, rebellious, not very intelligent person who are forever finding themselves in conflict as they are unable to manage their lifestyle correctly. If it's not a despute with community charge its utility bills, if not that its rent, if not that its something else and so on a so forth. Personally I get sick to the back teeth with guys like that playing the 'victim' all the while. Pay your bills, organise your life properly and you will find life a hell of a lot easier. You are also free to live your life the way you do, but all you will experience is an unstable life of conflict, so wake up! Cheers

One place i work at is an hmo they get debt collectors all the time. Ive answered the door to a few. I just say the person doesnt live here anymore i dont have a forwarding address and that im just working there. The go every single time. Never had one force there way in even after answering the door. Just give them a blank look when they ask the name or say you just moved in.

Actually in high no white English the majority are no longer paying bills and there is a large % in arrears, Birmingham is one place where almost 90% of residents are behind on some form of essential bill. This is becoming an epidemic and bailifs are sent after certain demographics first. I used to work in a council that is now bust and its shocking what they write off for certain demographics as they can never find the people they are looking for. This country has gone to total shite thanks to kebab. One rule for them, the native easy to find population is chased to the ends of the earth for payments.
