  • This time on Dirt Every Day Extra, Fred Williams gives you an update on his rock buggy that has been sitting for a few years. It’s getting to be desert season in California, and it’s time to get the tube car back in wheeling condition.

    I loved reading about this build back in the day when you where making it. I always wanted to know if the rock sliders worked out as good as you hoped? I thought you had said it was based off Tim Hardy's Samurai sliders that had been bashed in so much over time.

    How about us poor mud wheelers! It's been awhile since you done something like the bama army truck, I admire your passion for rock crawling , but we mudders like your stuff too, like to see a dirt everyday type road trip thu or up the Dalton highway roadkill style, but I know that's not going to happen, 35 years reading this magazine and miss the days of old , but do like the new to just not rock crawling all the time

      jlm10181978 I know what you are saying , to me lately it's all about rock crawling with Fred , but I guess the Peterson's put him there for a reason, I've even got where I don't like UA now cause it's nothing but RC , the best UA I can remember is the pewé use to do all the time

    • @jlm10181978
      @jlm10181978 Před 6 lety +2

      Jack Caldwell Pewe used to have a mix on UA but the last two UA have been in the desert! I live in Louisiana we have no shortage of Mud. And everyone’s first off road experience is mud related far more that rock crawling!

      I could use a optima battery in my Jeep. I should start making build videos, where I casually film the battery mount and say, "Sure wish I had one of those optima batteries." Maybe they'll give me one. I'll sell out for free shit.

    • @crowofjudgement159
      @crowofjudgement159 Před 6 lety +2

      well it's a fact the majority of engine wear like the piston rings and rods are on start up because the oil has not circulated throw the engine and that's only made worse with a engine that has been sitting now i will say with the now engines that use a lite weight synthetic oil that the oil flows throw the engine nearly instantly

  • @michalgc12
    @michalgc12 Před 6 lety +21

    Good job revving a cold engine....

    • @FloppydriveMaestro
      @FloppydriveMaestro Před 6 lety +17

      Mike Gomez If its so bad to rev a cold engine why do we have to rev the shit out of an engine to brake in a new camshaft? Oh thats right because revving a cold engine and hurting it is a myth.

    • @funkingitup1805
      @funkingitup1805 Před 6 lety +14

      Revving a cold engine a bit is far better than letting it sit at idle with lower oil pressure. The best thing to do to a cold engine is to drive it easily. You are a passive-aggressive, sarcastic piece of shit, Mike Gomez.
