- This time on Dirt Every Day Extra, Fred Williams gives you an update on his rock buggy that has been sitting for a few years. It’s getting to be desert season in California, and it’s time to get the tube car back in wheeling condition.

"Front suspension needs tightened up" Nice Craigslist English there 😄
Love it Fred! Can't wait to see it out on a trail !
I loved the fun buggy man, and it still looks good!
I got really confused thinking that you mounted a seat to the roof.
I always watch motortrend like it's TV, but if you think of this as youtube video's then you would always be complimented on the really high production quality.
Sup guys really enjoy your videos love your work!
great job! thumb up!
things bad ass looking. the seat on top is sick too !! need an extra steering wheel up there! oh wait he just took the seat down .
big and heavy but really strong. i like that :)
That thing looks just too good for not running. Great to see work being done on it again.
I loved reading about this build back in the day when you where making it. I always wanted to know if the rock sliders worked out as good as you hoped? I thought you had said it was based off Tim Hardy's Samurai sliders that had been bashed in so much over time.
I want those wheels and forty inch tires on my TJ!
The truck is the best I want to see more videos if you could
I love it very good
i liked the seat better on the roof
Fred, what episode was the fun buggy in?
Greetings Fred! Awesome buggy! Could you give me more info on the wheel company and that sweet headlight set up? Perhaps the brand and model?
Was that the 1986 Toyota rock crawler called clampy?
Fred, uuuh what's the story about the Forward Control behind the fun-buggy?! That looks like a M-677!!! Why hasn't THAT been on Dirt Everyday?! :D
I wish Dirt Every Day would do something with Busted Knuckle Video.
make more vids with this beauty.pls.
Wow! How do you get in?
Fred when will you show the FC? Seen it in the background in few episodes. Is that the diesel one from few years ago that was shown with FC concept?
Do a dirt every day episode on this
Well I'm the idiot that thought that seat was mounted to the roof. Because I wouldn't put it past them to think of that.
thats what I thought too lol
I watched the build on this many moons ago. I just thought it was spare shit he had on it.
This idiot thought he saw rails on the roof so the seat could slide back and forth.
Just saying I wondered myself. Down south people do that for quail hunting.
I'd love to see that!
so did j miss the episode this was featured on?
What happened to clampy
The fun buggy has the same drive train as my 1977 z28 camaro
Nice.
Are beadlocks safer than normal tires all around? I'm thinkin of gettin some for my 78 Datsun Kingcab Special but I've heard they're harder to change.
Leave the seat on the roof! Mount it 😬👍
Fred, are the rims made by Hutchinson Enterprises?
Can you call it the IROCK-Z?
Kirk House He'll need to regrow the mullet for that. 👍
And put some T tops in it!!!
What are the rims on fun buggy? I wanna put the same rims you have on my TJ!!
Is this an update or an introduction? I did a search I don't see anything on this???
Could you make a separate vid on those wheels a public vid not for D.E.D.E.
Was this in a DED episode, or and extra
How about us poor mud wheelers! It's been awhile since you done something like the bama army truck, I admire your passion for rock crawling , but we mudders like your stuff too, like to see a dirt everyday type road trip thu or up the Dalton highway roadkill style, but I know that's not going to happen, 35 years reading this magazine and miss the days of old , but do like the new to just not rock crawling all the time
Jack, I been a long time reader, did he build this in the Magazine?
My memory is shot.
Jack Caldwell Agree I have no use or want for rock crawling!
Mud Mud Mud that’s where everyone’s four wheeling story starts!
jlm10181978 I know what you are saying , to me lately it's all about rock crawling with Fred , but I guess the Peterson's put him there for a reason, I've even got where I don't like UA now cause it's nothing but RC , the best UA I can remember is the pewé use to do all the time
Jack Caldwell Pewe used to have a mix on UA but the last two UA have been in the desert! I live in Louisiana we have no shortage of Mud. And everyone’s first off road experience is mud related far more that rock crawling!
I want this
fun buggy last used in 2009 as a K /N commerical.
I pooped my pants.
What happen to the other two people
Thought you sold it..
Sometimes I drink coffee.
Watching in 2020. #illuminaticonfirmed
Watching in 2017
What's the story on the FC crew cab in the back ground?
My eyes kept making their way back to that. Love the old Forward Controls!
I could be wrong but I thought the featured it on an episode, gosh or way that jay lenos garage? Anyway a company takes new wranglers and builds them Ill try to find it.
Wrong on all accounts, but it was a motor trend show.
czcams.com/video/C8FQGWmxqio/video.html thing is awsome.
It’s an offroad Leroy
Basically
I don't think roadkill calls their vette kart Leroy.
Where is clampy?
Im a big fan of buggies. Cool! I love it! 9th comment
I ah er and um er ahh like um nut and bolt
This was a disguised ad for optima and that speed shop. He "forgot" the other brands. Also anyone complaining he revved a cold engine should probably realize he could have warmed it up before the video started.
kolo you are so bad
if he warmed it up before the video it would have started first try
Civilian lot protect nearby dining transform model attorney.
Sounds like he's sponsored by optima lol
as the local distributor here I would have to agree, lol
I could use a optima battery in my Jeep. I should start making build videos, where I casually film the battery mount and say, "Sure wish I had one of those optima batteries." Maybe they'll give me one. I'll sell out for free shit.
Hilux
alabama army truck*
Sorry, you have this thing sitting in your garage and you've been building junk out of old F-150's? WTF?
First
Seal Greek claim cry ultimately traveler foreign dominant back need question.
i never understood "needs tightened up" and similar sayings. needs- future tense, tightened- past tense.
BC4Lyphe
"All of a sudden", also "comes to mind."
let's see if this buggy that has been sitting will start oh it did start let's rev the piss out of it
Its not your engine so why do you care.
i don't really he didn't rev it enough to actually hurt anything you're just not supposed to do that
ITs a myth and really makes no difference at all
Heh, tell my old truck that.....it hasn't caught on to that memo yet.
well it's a fact the majority of engine wear like the piston rings and rods are on start up because the oil has not circulated throw the engine and that's only made worse with a engine that has been sitting now i will say with the now engines that use a lite weight synthetic oil that the oil flows throw the engine nearly instantly
Good job revving a cold engine....
Mike Gomez If its so bad to rev a cold engine why do we have to rev the shit out of an engine to brake in a new camshaft? Oh thats right because revving a cold engine and hurting it is a myth.
Revving a cold engine a bit is far better than letting it sit at idle with lower oil pressure. The best thing to do to a cold engine is to drive it easily. You are a passive-aggressive, sarcastic piece of shit, Mike Gomez.
What do you do in the morning before work? Warm your car up for half an hour? I fucking doubt it.
yeah go rev the piss out of an cold engine with forged piston's.
That’s only bad for the engine if you go above 5000 or 6000 rpm. Depends on the engine
4:32 "I build it originally" I'm sorry that's present tense but this happened in the past so you need to say "I built it originally". Can't be messing up your present and past tense thank you.
i noticed that on some other stuff. maybe its a cali thing?
I had to look for your comment, without you telling me what he was talking about.... it might as well been in klingon.
