You're the best. Thank you. I once got an extremely low fine for committing a traffic violation because the judge was impressed by my honesty.
"You really didn't know. Did you?"--The judge.
    "Your honor I did know."--me
"Maybe you didn't understand. You were just mistaken."--Judge.
"No your honor, I did know."--me.
"Okay. I like your honesty. $5 fine."--The judge who could've fined me hundreds.

This is an excellent video. Cleansing oneself of resentment cannot be easy.

He’s a racist of the first order. He caused big harm nationally. You don’t mention his racial hatred. Isn’t the core of your message about coming to terms with all that got you to prison? Is it only about the fact he lied?

He should be put in prison, he was found guilty. You do the crime you do the time. It was nothing more then a hate crime

He is not a first time offender. He lied to the police when he was stopped due to DUI and then signed with his brother's name.
If he had lied about the attack to get attention, it would have been easier to understand. But he also had a clear political agenda. He has a dislike for whites and conservatives, and weaponized his hoax with that in mind.
After he heard that the police doubted his story, he should have confessed. He didn't. But even if he refused to admit anything, he could at least slowed down by claiming what he said really happened, and stop using it politically. He didn't do that either. On the contrary, when he was interviewed by Robin Roberts he was as cocky and obnoxious as ever.
It is also about sending the right signal to others who might have a similar idea.
Had he been an anonymous person who lied and said he was attacked, barely making a headlines in the news, few would have cared. But this turned into a high profile case and got way bigger than anyone would have expected. And because it has become so big it will send the wrong message if he only gets a slap on the wrist. He was found guilty, and he continue to lie. There is no remorse or regret to be seen.

Hearing you say you have to learn to let go of things you cannot control hit me. I have no idea how to do so that. I would love to hear more about how you worked your way through that when you went in. Thank you.

I fear the difference is that Jussie has support from a small but significant part of the population who see it as an "our side vs their side" issue, and that this will make it easier for him to maintain a righteous or victim self-image regarding the affair. This wouldn't have been the case for you or most other people who are convicted and sentenced.

The reason Juicy should do jail time isn’t so much for the crime itself but the fact that he persisted in the lie he continued to double down and make matters worse while thumbing his nose up at the judicial process and everybody else in the process. It is because of this fact that he perjured himself and continued the ruse.that he should go to prison

I was interested in reading the comments here. There is no doubt that most of the commenters seriously dislike him and consider him unredeemable. Given the texts of most of your readers, it appears unlikely anything he does would help.
It will be interesting to see if he even makes an attempt. He has the complete Democrat Party behind him. He probably doesn’t have to even make an effort.
We have a two-tiered justice system. Even life long Democrats recognize this.

Hope you read this, although its completely off topic.
If you owe restitutions lets say 1M for example
If you played a poker tournament, and say for example you won 50k, I would assume they take it immediately at the cage.
But what happens if you get staked in a tournament? What if your father gave you $500, and wanted a 50/50 cut?
What happens if you win 50k then? Do they seize it, and you have to fight to get 25k back that technically is not yours?

Unless he learns to take responsibility for his misdeeds and learn humility, he's likely to get a harsher sentence.

Here in November 2022, we know that Jussie was sentenced to 150 days. He was released by the appeals judge after serving only 6 days while the appeal works its way through the system, which could take a lot longer than 150 days. If the appeal is successful, he will probably be given time served because so much time has passed. Which means effectively he will only have served the 6 days and no more. He'll have not learned anything; will likely still claim he is innocent and will remain the entitled fraud he is. He might even find his career hasn't been affected at all. So, unfortunately, while Justin's advice might help others, it's unlikely that Jussie will benefit from it.

I sincerely hope he has it in him to admit what he's done, to apologize for it, and count this as a learning experience.
However, based upon his behavior in this debacle, I fear he'll maintain his aura of victimhood. Also, he has a family and small support group feeding this attitude.
Let me express my gratitude for your voice of reason in a very disturbed world. What you say is good advice for all of us, really.
You make me think about all the good things and the blessings I've had, and still have, in my life, and how differently my life could have been without them.

Well, one can take the negative and somehow turn it into a positive. But, Jussie did the crime so he needs to do the time! And Jussie is no James Brown - so his acting career is over!

  • @Pb-rw7gs

I can’t believe that someone can make up life just to get pay more on a fucking tv show. Why? Couldn’t he have just negotiated, why was this the first step.
Prison can be reformative, if not for the time you do, at least for the humbling experience. He can definitely move on from this, people have short attention span and he also didn’t kill anyone, let’s keep perspective here.
