This Zep fan just found you this morning!!! My lucky day. I was a 'student' of LZ back in the 70s. Jimmy Page was my #1. Finally got to see Zeppelin live in '77 (with John Bonham!). My heroes. I still perform in a full band... as a duo and solo. This Saturday's set list (winery gig) includes Good Times Bad Times, Kashmir, Stairway, and possibly No Quarter. So much fun to perform these! That's The Way and Down By The Seaside are 2 Led Zeppelin songs among many others that do not get much attention or air play but they are beautiful. When you play That's The Way you bring out the essence of the song instead of the bombast of their image which distracts from the melancholy and longing for innocence of previous times it evokes. Very nice. Thanks for posting.

Around 1973 I had lengthy discussions with friends about the poetry(!) of this song. 🙂 We finally took it as a macho, sexist and speciesist criticism of peace and love feminism. But I was 14, so didn’t have the words. Loved the music so much though 😊
i had a friend of mine who truned me onto Led Zepplin in my late teens. it looked and sounded so incredibly old to me that i found it fascinating. same with the Beatles. the Beatles seemed archaic to me as a teen.
I think Rarely You can find a clear talent like this. The arrangements are splendid and the performance is simply perfect.
