- Marty's girlfriend Jennifer Parker (Elizabeth Shue) wakes up to find herself in the future McFly house, in the year 2015, where life is very different, including the McFly family.
Getting back was only the beginning as the most spectacular time-travel adventure ever continues in Back to the Future Part II - the sequel that proves that lightning can strike twice! Picking up precisely where they left off, Marty and Doc (Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd) launch themselves to the year 2015 to fine-tune the future and inadvertently disrupt the space-time continuum. Now, their only chance to fix the present is by going back to 1955 all over again before it is too late. From the Academy Award-winning filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis, Back to the Future Part II proves true excitement is timeless.

i wish the future was like that
That's one way to kill off home cooked meals.
Never noticed that Marty’s wearing 2 ties. So futuristic
with japanese flag print on it
Those are Family Ties....bah da bum
yes but today in real life, we just wear Pollo shirt and we either carry backpack or Duffels bag to work instead of briefcase. My Bos uses backpack as well.
I knew I wasn’t the only one
This movie is ahead of its time. We won’t naturally discover that a person can wear two ties until 2029.
I like how marty jr doesnt question how his mom suddenly got in the house
And the way he disregards/ignores his father's presence. Because in the future (as we now see) no one cares about anybody or anything.
@@hamzabeiruti6451 The 2015 McFly family is dysfunctional. 😳
@@georgehenderson7783It seemed like middle-aged Marty was kind of ignored by both kids, shown in a little more depth in the deleted scenes. And he probably didn't make it hard if he was - as Lorraine put it - moping around feeling sorry for himself. Not exactly a good example to set for your kids.
Why would he question it?
😂 Marty Jr. was smoking, or doing some stuff as well.
Pizza: *cooks in 2.5-3 seconds*
The family right after it finished cooking: *IS IT READYY??*
One of my favorite parts of this scene
With how destroyed and people’s attention span to the point they can’t even watch 15 minutes of a video, I don’t doubt that people in the future would be impatient with instant food
Not to mention she just grabs the tray with her bare hands without any oven mits whatsoever
It's so realistic for this century
people never want to wait
I watched this movie about 8000 times and never realized Michael J Fox played Marlene until watching the DVD special features! 🤣
Evet benim abim fark etti ve ben ona saçmalama dedim. Bence kızının ona benzemesini istemişlerdir.
For years I thought Marlene was a young Tanya Roberts&it messed me up to learn she wasn't so late. Felt like actual time travel occured&I somehow remembered.
Oh, I didn't know that.
Me either. He looked damm good in drag lol
My God; it was so convincing that Marlene McFly was played by a different actress; only to find out under all that makeup and wig; Fox also played her!! I guess they had to record his voice and pitch it up to sound more girly. ❤
Eddie Murphy has competition
His voice was dubbed with an actress
I had a strange feeling something was off about her.
I wish he wouldn’t stare at the camera so much. It was really weird
So that’s why her voice both in English and Hungarian version sounded off (in the hungarian dub the VA imitated the pitch)
For All the silly predictions that this one had for the future the one that was TOTALLY on point was the kids being completely consumed by technology in the midst of family time. Lol.
Isn't really a prediction, it was already a thing when the movie came out
@@geemcspankinson oh yeah; they had virtual headbands, synchronized devices, and multi-screen gaming systems back in the 80’s? No. Lol.
Of course kids were gaming then, but there were no tablets or cell phones. These kids couldn’t walk a step without using some kinda electronic device. A whole different level from the 80’s.
@@FORTYSHIPS Never heard of a virtual headband, synchronized devices are for images, multi-screen gaming systems are for rich kids. Even back in the 40s "family time" was becoming tv-together time, not to mention radio before that. And after calls became cheap teens were constanstly on the phone talking with each other.
@@geemcspankinson There are VR gaming devices now, and they were in the movie as well (I called them virtual head bands as they did more than just gaming; the seemed to be used in communication as well. They were not in use in the 80’s, however (to refute your point).
Synchronized devices apply to both video and audio applications, not just visuals (feel free to fact check that).
Multi screen gaming platforms are prominent in many places, not just with ‘rich kids’. People wealthier may have more ideal setups, where as people with lesser means will use older or repurposed equipment. I’ve seen this and I’m basing on personal knowledge of people I know doing this who aren’t wealthy.
My bigger point was that the kids were tied into multiple electronic devices simultaneously, and in Marty jr’s case, was actively watching more than one channel at a time. I know that no one I knew as a kid back in the 90’s was engaged in anything like that, but today there are. That’s a far cry from the whole family gathering around collectively to watch a television program together; it’s more individualized today, with people almost oblivious to the presence of others around them. That part is well represented in the movie.
There’s just a good amount of parallels between those concepts in the movie and life today.
@@FORTYSHIPS Who cares, you don't look at synchronized images on apple cloud is my point. Multi monitors really are a privilige. Are you sure this isn't selection bias because you use computers much or because you live in a rich place? Who has family time when they are using more than two screens anyways? The american nuclear family eating tv dinners was always a lie. You are looking at a movie that was looking through a commercialized nostalgia lens through your own commercialized nostalgia lens. The fact of the matter is and will be that the moment you do something more focus-intensive than eating you won't connect with fellow family as well as before. Watching tv while channel surfing is only very, very marginally better than watching a phone while watching a single tv show. There is no parallel, it is literally the same thing.
Scary how accurate the six channel tv is to gen alpha content consumption
They were off by a few years, but they got there unfortunately
Micheal J. Fox in drag and Flea together in the same movie… What a time to be alive
Wow I never realized he was in this until I just looked it up😮

Amazing how Lorraine never burns herself when taking the pizza out of the hydrator. Cutting edge technology at its finest.
Well, the only thing I can really think of is that the hydrator uses a different method of heating than what we know of now.🤷♂️
Yeah and it would at least a minute for the metal to get really hot.
Slow down it’s not like she asked for hydrate level five
@@morganrussman Thats probably what it is. My theory is the hydration process only affects the food, not the object the food is on. If you look, her thumb is curled away from the pizza when she takes it out.
@LordAurix hmmm, that attention to detail is something I missed, good catch.👍
They were right about one thing. The kids with the screens on their faces at dinner. It's safe to say that we all definitely did get addicted to our screens.
Sadly yes
Not just tje one screen bit mutiply screens at once I used to play console games on my TV. Watch movies on a tablet or small DVD player . And you tube on my cell phone . And my wife is just as bad on her with her pc .
@@flying1dead155basically gen alpha
Its not hard to go back to 1 screen or alternate between screens if you are fried by short form videos
But its gen alpha thats worrying where they constantly need 5 different stimulating screens running at the same time showing stuff like family guy with a tiktok diy video sped up with subway surf and minecraft with GTA 5
Amazing how all there are Michael J Fox including Marty Daughter
I just realized it today, 34 years after I watched the first movie, unbelieveable lol
Eddie Murphy would later do the same years later in the Nutty Professor.

2:02 All the tech in the house but they still have the elementary school pull-down projector screen 😂
Supposed to be some form of TFT LCD or something in the context of "future technology". Just like the living room TV is supposed to be super flat(an actual rear projection TV was used for this).
I love how Lorraine is explaining Marty's car accident as thought she's read the script haha
Oh,there's the script I see it right over there!---Mr Plinkett.
The part of Micheal J. Fox that I love most is the part he played the character of daughter. The trendy costume with pastel blouse that mix and match well with girly mini skirt he wore make him look really cute and perfectly pretty.
Okay buddy... you don't HAVE to call him cute
@@rip.van.winkle_ So, this is what I am saying. What is the matter with you?
I like how he see's the Taxi that was actually following him, and ultimately swooped the almanac!
Ubers would be there in the near future.
Wow he played both sister and brother.and father...this man was talented 😂😂😂😂😂😂
He played regular Marty, old Marty, Marty Jr and Marlene.
I swear that I never noticed for years that they'd recast Crispin Glover as George, since they had the other actor be upside down, or used far away shots.
And they stole his face. You should look it up if you don’t know the story.
They had a bitter falling out with Crispin Glover, and so he refused to reprise his role as George Mcfly
He sued Universal and won
@@hamzabeiruti6451I don’t think he actually refused. He just wanted equal pay with his costars. And no he wasn’t talking about equal pay with Michael J Fox either
@@hamzabeiruti6451the bitter falling out happened because of this film. Prior to filming Part2 they couldn’t come to an agreement. The reasons vary depending oh who is asked- Crispin wasn’t happy with plot elements, the producers said he wanted too much $. Glover was upset that 1) people thought he acted in Part2 and 2) that Bob Gale told the press that it was only about $.
They predicted the “Lights On” but without the ‘Alexa’. Also- the home phone option where everyone can see an incoming call is gone as well. But in the 1990’s we couldn’t conceive of not having a landline so the movie gets a pass
I love small details:
- The door approves Jennifer's fingerprint.
- She is surprised while saying "lights on", luckily triggers the lights.
-George McFly actor was not in the movie therefore another actor is shown but upside down not to be recognized
The part about opening the door, is that it's Jennifer's thumb print. The Doc told Marty at one time, that most things were authorized by people's thumb print.
That's not why he was upside down. It was a foreshadowing of the falling man in 9/11
Crispin Glover is George's original actor.
4:10 they predicted having to yell at Siri because she wouldn’t understand you.
When I first saw this movie, I thought the police officer was saying, “be careful in the future” as in, they refer to their time as such. But watching this now, I realize she was just casually saying, be careful moving forward lol.
This is called "innuendo"
The future we got was so disappointing, we didn’t even get the hot cops! 🤣
one of the cops could have been Miley Cyrus.
In fact, they got even less hot.

It's probably just me, But I always wanted those futuristic silver glasses like Doctor Emmet Brown.

Judging from the comments, it seems it was like most people were not aware Michael J Fox played his daughter and George McFly was recast. I don’t know if I noticed this the first time I watched it, but I was aware of this as a kid. One thing I did not notice until I was an adult however was Jennifer was recast.
Me too.
I was aware of these things as well. I saw the end credits which confused me as a kid.
I was aware Michael J Fox played his own daughter as a kid. I didnt learn they replaced Crispin until I read about it years later. This is the first I heard they recast Jennifer. What?
I'll never get over the fact that this isn't Crispin Glover. I still can't tell
Crispin Glover denied himself a $25k salary to do the sequel.
@@eyeseer1they stole his face (there was a lawsuit) & the studio paid his movie wife way more for the movie even though they were essentially in all the same scenes with similar screen time.
This scene is honestly an incredible example of how talented of an actor Michael J Fox is I mean come on the fact that he can play Marty as a teenager, Marty as a middle aged man, Marty Jr AND Marlene is absolutely amazing and honestly puts most modern actors to shame especially ones in their mid to late 20s which is the age he was during the production of the trilogy
Another future prediction:
Junior watches 6 channels at a time, just like 2nd screen nowadays.
After all these years the multi-take shots that make Michael J. Fox able to be in 3 places at once at the dinner table still hold up very well. Even in the latest 4K transfer I can't even see any seams in the shots.
Looks like an animatronic or puppeteered figure for the daughter when she pulls the pizza slice though--makes sense since this overlaps Fox playing the dad. But pretty creepy looking and the motion of the arm is a dead giveaway. Weird that they didn't just use a photo double since "her" face was pretty covered up.
2:54 They definitely predicted the low attention spans. This feels so much like the Subway Surfers TikTok trend.

@@alextimossi7444 "and Biff turned into some Addams family member"
Har! Or Munsters family member!
gmanko saying Future Marty looks like Michael Douglas is a bit of a stretch though 😂
Also really interesting how Marty Jr has an accurate representation of how Adhd works in terms of video watching wise
so the stuff that they got right was: flat screen/ smart tvs, smart homes, voice controlled devices, robotic voiced systems and adult men in drag as teenage girls.
The Scenery Channel is ASMR
Fox must have loved shooting this movie. Like Bottom in Shakespeare he gets to play so many parts.
Maybe, if he loved to act, then most likely yes. Thing is usually they make reshots of scenes not only because there were mistakes, if not, because they want a better take or they want the scene from another angle, so, it becomes very repetitive, then he had to change outfits, put makeup and all that.
Huge screens everywhere. They sure did know what was gonna happen...
The writing was on the wall. Rear projection TVs and large(r) tubes got cheaper during the late 80s.
I just found out that that’s not Crispin Glover playing George.
Yep, it's Jeffrey Weissman. His role is pretty small though in this one.
Did you know that's Michael J. Fox playing not only 1985 Marty but 2015 Marty Jr and 2015 Marlene McFly?

Evidently the terrorists crashed into the parking lot both as the DeLorean zoomed off preventing 9/11 from happening...
1:53
That just means Marty caused 9/11. The details of this movie are amazing.
I don't really like this mentality. They made the movie 1989. Now that it's after the fact, why do we always have to act like they should've known better or they should change it or something? Like, right after it happened, some films were erasing any imagery from their films. Like why are we now pretending they didn't exist when the movie was made?
i laughed at the scenery channel but here i am spending my day overlooking Roku City
There were scenery channels on WebTV/MSNTV first. Then as A Dreamscene A Day in Windows Vista.
Just think. If there was ever a spin off of Back to the Future, the main character would be going back 30 years to the '90s. That just blows my mind.

Technology and computers just started to rapidly progress in the 80's. It may seem ridiculous to us but they had some wild imaginations on what the future was going to be like and where computers were going to take us. Almost every movie, show and even Disneyland had some crazy ideas.

Fun Fact:
In the draft script, Marlene McFly's physical appearance was less generic and described as a "big-breasted and somewhat chunky girl who looks like she overdid it with her weight training", she also has the face of a young Marty along with the hair of a young Jennifer.

The fact both of Marty's kids are played by Michael J Fox
Marlene was played by Elisabeth Shue.
@@Perich29Um no. Its MJF, it's pretty well known
some of it they got correct, the kids were too busy on their phones and vr is now available for video games, people communicate through screens now. Door can open with identification and fingerprints as well. Plus endless tv shows on demand such as Netflix or Prime and Stan.
The reason old George is upside down and threw his back out is because the actor from the first film asked for a million dollars more for his payment. The directors said no and decided to write him out of the film as dead -- but people saw it as a sour point. So they have him in this scene, hanging upside down, because 1) it's a different actor and it's harder to recognize faces upside down 2) if the original actor came back, he'd be stuck upside down for the rest of the movie.
I want the garden center in my house. Lol!
