⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠@@bonnie7742it’s literally a gutteral h/kh sound, so that person was throughout right and he was referring to the french r as sounding like h (portuguese has this too) not the english h being.

As a humble American, I tried to buy a ticket to Rouen, and the ticket person said “Oh, you want to go to Hew-oon?” 😵‍💫 I asked him to repeat it and it seemed that he said it differently each time. Finally, I gave up and accepted that my fate might be to go somewhere where I had no idea👻, but I did arrive in lovely Rouen and that was my introduction to the French R!😅
