I'm going to miss this being filmed conference call style because Trott controlling the stream and creating these incredible fucking ads is honestly just fantastic. I struggle to put into words how much I enjoy them.
I normally avoid dnd streams that are conference style but with your comment I realized I haven't even thought about it with high rollers. Maybe it's the decent quality mics, the even level of sound across everyone or that they started it together but I've been really happy with it
Well… they’re still doing it so gg for you
The amount of times lucius was nearly eaten and somehow survived is astonishing
Thank Quill and his dps cleric tendencies
Can I just say, I absolutely love the look of mild panic on Marks face when the party suggests putting the extra-dimensional chest in the extra-dimensional bag. Way back in the day, I had a particularly clever player one shot my BBEG because at the time I didn't know the "Bag of holding inside a bag of holding" rule.
ya i saw that look of terror too ;p
I’ve been so many more negative comments on high rollers recently and it makes me pretty sad. Its reminding me of the worst of critical role when everyone just hated on marisha and would correct every small mistake. After all dnd is a game, and its THEIR game, of course we are all passionate about the story and characters but i just don’t see the need to nitpick everything if it doesn’t cause huge consequences. They aren’t playing to be perfect and get very rule right. If the players are enjoying the game then its fine, mark is an amazing dm and its obvious the gang love him and doing this every week. Forgetting something is a ritual spell or not fully understanding a wordy spell is not a big deal at all, and if the players aren’t complaining.. oh well move on. They play for the story not the tactics and rules. Sorry i just don’t see why people feel the need to complain and nitpick about something they are supposedly enjoying. :)
Say it louder for the people in the back!
🤗 thank you
Yes yes yes
If it helps, people who are more invested are more likely to comment and nitpick. For every complaining comment there's 10 happy viewers who didn't feel the need to post. Not that it helps the content creators who just want to know that their work is valued, but, you know :)
Yeah, imagine playing dnd every week at your regular time and then a guy comes up to you three days later and says “hey, those dnd sessions are getting worse aren’t there”
I didnt hate on marish I just didnt like keyleth
Going to be completely honest Kim laughing on the second dnd beyond attempt sounded like dolphins
Its probably the devils lettuce she tried once in university. Makes you turn into a dolphin if you aren't careful.
Naw....she was cursing in Spongebob talk.

Sorry, this is so late and this also feels kind of redundant at this point.
nope. was still helpfull friend!
It was still helpful to me! Thank you!
It was helpful to me thank you
Not redundant, very useful and appreciated, thank you!
Thou art a gud dude
*Croackatohaaaaa* had me laughing so hard excellent reference Mark.
Nice reference there Mark with "Croackatoha"
*Croakatohaaaaaaa*
Croakatohaa
Uk'otoaaa .. oh sorry, wrong universe.
Croakatohaaaaaaa~~
@@-Daidalos There is no wrong universe for Uk'otoaaa's glory. He guids all of us
Uk'otoaaa....
1:44:57 Critical Role Plot Twist: Uk'otoa is actually Croak'otoa and has been all this time
I lost my shit the second mark said croakatoa making that direct link in my mind!🤣
Back to Aerois after absolutely crushing nights of eveningstar. Great stuff Mark.
I'm so excited for season 2!!!
Same cant wait for season 2
Stay for the end donations and announcements to watch a wholesome party breakdown of laughter
This had the best intro, from Mark "Red 5" to Trott's incredible DND Beyond promo. God I laughed so hard it hurts to smile now.
I didn't know how much I would enjoy just all the npcs that actually care for the party members, like Faeth and Herald. It's nice to know the characters have those people who miss them when they're gone and actually having close friends outside the PC's. Idk, I guess I didn't notice it as much in Lightfall or maybe the current situation makes it more meaningful to have those small human interactions.
1) I might be late to the party 2) I rewatched #23...anyone else think breezes description was a little Hadar touched?
Oh almost certainly, considering it was likely Herald that taught Breeze the necromantic life drain right?
it is time to meet croakatoa
sentry prime " HELLLLLL YEEAAHHHH"
The Star Wars intro ✨✨
Edit: oh god Trott 😂😂
HIGH rollers living up to their name.
28:19 - The most handy feature of the Haversack is that whenever you reach into it, whatever you're looking for is always magically on top, so you don't need to rummage around for it like you do with a Bag of Holding or Portable Hole.
1:40:00 - Oh great, it's Boss Nass.
1:44:52 - They're like kobolds whenever anyone mentions King Torg (all hail King Torg).
2:01:45 - Bullywugs are ridiculous. I think the majority of people picture them as actual muppets, with the flip-top mouths and flailing arms and all.
2:14:45 - Lucius: "And I thought [pant] it smelled bad [pant] on the outside."
Interestingly, The Unexpectables also just had an adventure involving bullywugs and their froghemoth god. Things went down in a pretty similar way too, except that they were victorious (with a genius play by Panic). The little muppety bastards are always good for shenanigans.
The same goes for the bag of holding, you need to think of the item you wanna pull out
@@caseyamundson2673 Rereading the entries in the DMG, they both say that it requires an action to retrieve an item, but only the Haversack specifically mentions the item you want always being on top.
@@arcticbanana66 Read the whole description of a bag of holding.
You 'only' retrieve the item you think of otherwise the bag appears empty.
The Haversack always has everything within it, that's why something being on top matters.
@@Lucky13Ravens At no point does the description say that the bag "appears empty" or that you need to think of a specific item to retrieve it, nor do the descriptions in AD&D, 3.5, or Pathfinder. The older editions _do_ say that "Retrieving a specific item from a _bag of holding_ is a move action, unless the bag contains more than an ordinary backpack would hold, in which case retrieving a specific item is a full-round action", which indicates that, at least in those editions, the bag _does not_ "appear to be empty" since it takes time to find what you're looking for. However, 5E simplified retrieving items to just "an action", so the "always on top" bit from the haversack is just a neat bit of flavor.
Transcribed directly from the DMG page 153-154:
"Bag of Holding
_Wondrous item, uncommon_
This bag has an interior space considerably larger than its outside dimensions, roughly 2 feet in diameter at the mouth and 4 feet deep. The bag can hold up to 500 pounds, not exceeding a volume of 64 cubic feet. The bag weighs 15 pounds, regardless of its contents. Retrieving an item from the bag requires an action.
If the bag is overloaded, pierced, or torn, it ruptures and is destroyed, and its contents are scattered in the Astral Plane. If the bag is turned inside out, its contents spill forth, unharmed, but the bag must be put right before it can be used again. Breathing creatures inside the bag can survive up to a number of minutes equal to 10 divided by the number of creatures (minimum 1 minute), after which time they begin to suffocate.
Placing a _bag of holding_ inside an extradimensional space created by a _Heward's handy haversack, portable hole,_ or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Astral Plane. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it to a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one-way only and can't be reopened."
You know a bit went well when it ends with "alright that's enough of that joke" 😂
The way the party absolutely died during the end of stream dono messages slayed 🤣🤣
This episode was amazing hahaha. It's nice to have the whole gang back and (hopefully) feeling better
I know i'm late, but Mark just smiling and fidgiting, listening to everyone talk to Nova about the dream visit with Starbane makes me happy.
That DnD Beyond add was chef's kiss!!
You missed the perfect opportunity to call the drop ship rowing boat thing ‘the float boat’
Placing the haversack inside an extradimensional space created by a bag of holding, portable hole, or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Astral Plane. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it and deposited in a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one-way only and can't be reopened.
2:33:05-2:34:00 Thank you Nova, for demonstrating when a player should wait until after the battle is done to ask questions of curiosity... :)
Mark:the enemy is going to cast a spell
Trott:counter spell!!
Yay been waiting all week
Edit: I love you guys for keeping quarantine bearable and hilarious
What's needed to sketch like Rhiannon? That sketch in the beginning was quite nice
Not me looking at the little camera icon they use like “who is Camera”
this seem like a Dejavu from the Unexpectables
Someone should tag Travis Willingham. Send him the link. Something like that.
hahahahahaha
The frog guys remind me a bit of the Vindaloovians from Red Dwarf.
Mark: "The shard is moving" later "It's on a domed Island"
Me: Nooonoononononoonononononononooooo Run away!!
Oh thank goodness! XD
Another thumbs up for the brilliant DnDBeyond ad
1:31:00 Sentry waving to (presumably) Herald at the city of glass over the horizon...Rhiannon is so precious.
Lucius is having a really bad day.
Just enjoying the difference between Croakatoa and Ukatoa
What a great opening gag!!
Awesome cliffhanger Mark!
Love seeing Uk'otoa made its way to Aerois as well! Croak'ota sounds amazing
When dealing with bullywugs always go with the frohemoth given the chance.
Is croakatoa (croakatoa, croakatoa) a reference to ukatoa (ukatoa, ukatoa)
Love the homage to CR. Croakatoa ( croackatoa, croakatoa, crockatoa). Lol!
2:05:20 - When you're on that real good stuff and you become one with the smoke
Lucius giving off major Megumin vibes at the frog fight.
Idk, that 6th level guiding bolt was def a Quill Megumin moment
I'm on 1:17:56 and I predict its a moving island maybe on the back of a giant turtle or is Atlantic esc as the island has moved half a day in about 2 weeks
awesome episode
That Mollymauk in Mark's background
The frog men just wanted to do drugs and have a good time PepeHands
This will wrap up soon I feel sad and happy
Nova goes up in smoke in more than one way
An extra thumbs up for the star wars opening

Mark = great storyteller
And again everyone, make no mistake, Trott IS definitely funny
I was laughing so hard this episode. Love these goofballs
I once smoked the reffer at university is by far the nerdiest thing I have heard in a decade.
Lucius hit with Chromatic Orb! it's been 84 years
...And not a single insight check was performed that day.
Qillek! How dare you not do the salute!
His frog leader totally sounds like the Frog King that directs Lemmiwinks on how to escape Mr. Slaves ass
Is that white eyeliner I see, Rhi?
Hell yea.
The frog people, particularly the lord remind me super hard of this odd tribe from a Russian fantasy film called "Wolfhound".
Oh my... this intro though hahahaha
I wonder if trott will play baldurs gate 3. He played divinity, would be interesting to see
I feel like Mark was inspired in this episode by the fomor from the Dresden files.
frogman reallllyy makes me think of angory tom for some odd reason
the mime part wasn't planned? Somehow that makes it better...
2:46:15. Truly a legendary moment.
Croc'atoa binge-watching critical role are we Mark
Does anyone know how mark makes/gets his maps? Im just starting to use roll20 and I don’t really fully know? I have some threads but help would be amazing
I would be playing D&D but I don’t have a DM
I head bdsm scenes have the same problem. Not enough good dungeon masters. Teehee
@@Blasted2Oblivion lol
you one easily on discord servers
@@Spiceodog does that work with D&D too?
Well, easiest solution to that problem...start DMing yourself. Finding Players is really easy :P
If the frogs were the size of bison, (1:37:04} then the flies it would need huge for the frogs to care about them still. Frogs that big would take out birds, possibly even the size of seagulls!
So correct me if I'm wrong, but they don't have to fight the air elemental really, just damage it over the course of an hour while it does nothing per Nova's command.
Unbeelievable.
Only just realised how pointless lookout being in the crows nest is. At the height the ship is flying at, the extra height of the crows nest is going to give them barely any extra view of the horizon
A wooden drop ship that has feather fall? So a float boat?
Not a boat if it doesn't float.
@@thefracturedbutwhole5475 but it does float in the air
I had the same thought immediately, lol
It baffles me that noone bought the Pearl of power..
Croakatoa... hahahaha
Mudhole? Slimy? My home this is.
Ah, so these aren't the frog people from The Shadow Over Innsmouth.
CROAKATOA!
Can y'all PLZ just go and rescue Valla already 😢😭😢
"While the chest remains on the Ethereal Plane, you can use an action and touch the replica to recall the chest. It appears in an unoccupied space on the ground within 5 feet of you. You can send the chest back to the Ethereal Plane by using an action and touching both the chest and the replica.
After 60 days, there is a cumulative 5 percent chance per day that the spell’s effect ends. This effect ends if you cast this spell again, if the smaller replica chest is destroyed, or if you choose to end the spell as an action. If the spell ends and the larger chest is on the Ethereal Plane, it is irretrievably lost."
@@Dave_L913 guarantee nobody is going to tally up that many days if they struggle to remember when three days have passed for Quill's eye to recharge
Mark will probably remind them!😌(I mean, he's cruel but not CHRIS PERKINS amount of cruel!)
Turn on subtitles when they meet lord frog. 😂
What was Lancian's role on the airship?
I don’t really know now that I think about it. Huh.
I think he was one of the unskilled highlings? Not sure though
croaka'toa...lol
40:00 TEACH YOUR CREW THE MINOR MAGIC like Water-Breathing.
I don't think Tom realizes how Secret Chest spell works. It isn't a bag of holding its a regular chest that is 3ftx2ftx2ft that can just disappear for security reasons. Since it's only 3ft long even longswords and longbows won't fit in the chest because they are too long. I think the spell is kinda pointless for 5k gold.
Maybe they’ll home brew it a bit to make it viable compared to the bag of holding.
It is a very limited high cost spell. But in the right campaign its super useful . Imagine playing as a thief guild broker and using the chest to keep all of your notes and documents neatly organized and safe in a pocket plane
Does anyone know why there has been a two week gap between episodes? thought it was a weekly thing and wondering if I missed a notification about there being a gap.
Same
this is such a nice nod to both CR and to Downfall in TWBTWL :D
Spoiler Alert:
Here I was thinking the party would have a chance to try diplomacy to get a shard, but then it turned to hallucinogens and attempted human sacrifice. Still a wonderfully fun episode :)
I love that mark and I both took lizardmen from warhammer to influence a race
The Great Frog Massacre! But good news Lucius got 2 million views from being vomited twice!
Where is Helios at we need him to talk to Tiangong
He already did.
The Fractured But Whole But now he has more sentience so now they can have more of a conversation
At 2:47:07 Tom says his spell uses 8 d6 but he rolls 8 d8. It's a minimal difference. But he rolled pretty well on those d8s.
Comment for the comment gods
Is anyone else making connections between croakatoa and critical role's ukatoa
Yeah, I'm sure mark purposely made a fun reference to critical role.
That was the joke, yes
The mental strain to not repeat "Croakatoa" when I heard it intensified when I heard every NPC and PC repeat it, such an excellent spin on a reference.
My only personal complaint would be the Froghemoth pronunciation since its a mix of Frog and Behemoth and I'm pretty adamant about it being the Bee-he-muff pronunciation rather than the Beh-heh-moth pronunciation, but that's just a me thing, the rest of the episode was glorious as always guys
