This remix is intended to provide better insight into how our courts and the folks who run them administer justice to the public they serve. Remember they have to deal with folks who are often having their worst day on a daily basis. We also hope to bring you cases with interesting legal concepts, twists and interactions you may not encounter elsewhere…

She is awesome! I remember another case where the defendant was complaining he didn't have a place to stay and had no car. She said "I know of a place where you can stay for free, and they even provide transportation!" LOL Best comeback ever! 😂🤣

He really is my absolute favorite judge. He is trying so hard to balance justice, Compassion, empathy, life lessons, and fair treatment of everyone involved and doing it all so gracefully while showing his humanity. 💕❤️

He's a model of humanity in a system that so often seems uncaring. It must be a pleasure for staff who works with him every day.
I've long believed that people don't quit their job as much as they quit their boss. When you get a boss like him, you stay there. I was fortunate enough to have one like that and I gave him 15 years of my life. I don't regret a second of it, we did good work and helped a lot of people.

I know!!! 🎉 I have watched sooo many of these where the judge dehumanizes the ppl. I had to go to court for custody hearings before and had no clue how court worked, and I am a very soft spoken and mannered person. She made me so anxious, didn’t tell us the procedures, literally had so much anxiety every time I had to go back there for a year until we came to an agreement 😢
It's amazing how suddenly important everyone's job and responsibilities are to them when they have to go to jail. He is the best judge.

Regardless, OSG provides a (a filtered down from tedious court nonsense, pre-watched, and edited) to provide a bunch of content for several law nerd tube channels gang. Much respect in their general direction for that effort. :)

The world NEEDS more people like Judge S. this man brings class and humor together seamlessly.
Judge Simpson is a shining example of what our justice system should be. Empathy and consideration for people that show real remorse or interest in reform and firm unyielding judgment for those that don't.
Judge Simpson has a good sense of character. (he knows when someone is lying or blowing smoke up his robe)😆
Also keeps his courtroom in check. Unlike so many other judges.
This judge is an absolute legend. Manages to be authoritative and human at the same time. So good to see the role done so well

Love how Simpson can go from no bs slamming the hammer to having fun and humor. If your straight with him he’s straight with you and you can definitely tell he appreciates honesty and not bs beating around the bush excuses. Owning your mistakes and being honest goes a long way with him. He’s an awesome judge.

@@OSGCourtWatch I think it is so important. I think it helps to really demonstrate the judge's humanity, and shows how hard he is willing to work if you put in some effort. They all come in with sob stories, but you trust he knows the truth.

Blessed if you're honest and trying to do the right thing. But he is a curse if you fuck around with him. Which is exactly how it should be.
I view Judge Simpson as the perfect example of a judge. You will never get over on him. He straighten you out, very quickly. He is not a softy, and yet he can show unbelievable kindess. You can easily see both sides of his demeanor during a single call.
As long as you show him respect and remorse for what you did he will show you at least some respect. Even more if your working on fixing whatever caused you to appear in front of him
I love judge Simpson, he is a kind, fair and patient man. Exactly the kind of judge we need more of.
Judge Simpson made me tear up. I'm in similar financial positioning and he always shows compassion where he can and it's deserved.
But, as the two who violated probation shows, he can bring down the hammer if you thumb your nose at him and the court.

I live with under 900 a month. I could never pay even the minimum fines and eat at the same time. If I ever end up in court, I would love tohave a compassionate judge like Simpson. Some judges just don't care, fortunately, most do.
@@artomies1972 Same here, tbh I couldn't even pay rent into an apartment let alone pay utilities, food and the rest. Rent for a studio apartment where I live is $1300 a month so if I had to pay fines.... Whooooo..... I too would want a Judge like him.
It's so fun watching how Judge Simpson interacts with the defendants. He has a great sense of humor. I like the fact that he is willing to try and help as long as the defendants put some effort forward to pay off judgements. It's the slackers that get his goat as it should be. It truly is heart-breaking to see people mess up their lives. I know everyone’s circumstances are different, but all these people would be richer and stay out of jail If they had listened.
I would love to hear that whenever Ms. Hill finishes her painting that she frames it and takes it to Judge Simpson as a gift for his office. That would be the "icing on the cake" for me.

I just want to mention how proud I am of Judge Simpson. He is the example of jurisprudence that should be emulated by every student of the law and future lawyers. His is a courtroom of fair justice and both prosecutors, defendants and their legal representative are assured that Judge Simpson cannot be fooled. His historical knowledge is vast.
I'm just an Okie that enjoys the workings of our legal system when it's accomplished in this manner. It doesn't have to be a murder trial or a high profile case. The law is the law at all levels.

Had they asked politely and not failed their UAs multiple times, Judge S probably would've allowed them to serve their time on their days off... but some people just want to play stupid games and get mad when they win stupid prizes.

I love Judge Simpson. He's almost always laughing and making jokes. You can tell that he loves what he does. It can be very intimidating when you have to see a Judge and I feel like he makes people relax because he understands that people have a lot of anxiety dealing with a Judge!

This Judge is A1 in my book. Super friendly but holds his Court to the highest regard. I wish I could’ve done half of what this Judge has done in his life. What an absolute perfect person to base your life off of. He has done everything I wish I would’ve. Very fair Judge.

He’s a delight. He really takes no nonsense from a defendant, but gets to the truth so he can work with the person and he is funny. I love when he gets everyone laughing with him. He’s s good man, that is for sure.

I think most of them just have an issue with jailing someone for being financially strapped.
Watching so many of these cases makes me realize that most people will give you a lot of grace if you have a good attitude, be polite, take responsibility for your actions and be honest with everyone.

This is not the first time. It is purposeful disresepct.
What he did was wrong however he is just now going to court over these charges. Not every single person who is arrested or ticketed and has to go to court is guilty. People are wrongly arrested and even convicted all the time. It is why they are considered innocent until PROVEN guilty.
Obviously this particular guy has been here before but that is not the case for every defendant

I think everyone collectively believes thats how court goes your at the mercy of the mood of the judge based on his interactions before your matter 😂

It drives me nuts too, but I try to remember that it’s an anxiety thing for some people. Not all, but some.
