any korean who's spent their teenage years in america will have very different views from native koreans. I live in flushing (new york's suburban koreatown) and we had an exchange student, Yubeom, who did a presentation about why social structures between korea and america should never be compared. it was very interesting, Ko sounds like he'd agree.
I'm aware of that. That's why in the description I already said that. I also said I'm gonna interview ppl with different upbringings to get multiple perspectives.
Bro he said "I'm here to spy" to troll ...hes comedy !!! But thank you for this video !!! It brings a lot of cultural awareness and brings out the stereotypes that the korean people go through as well...this is how u bring cultures together 👏🏼
Hi, "Ko" and Sisi! I really enjoyed this video! I grew up in a prejudice city (Boston) in the 70's (yes, I am probably older than your parents!). However, I came from a multi-cultural family. I have a sister-in-law from Taiwan, a half Cantonese brother-in-law, A half Puerto Rican Sister-in-law, and a Panamanian Sister-in-law. As I matured I met and interacted with many other cultures (Irish, Lithuanian, Italian, Greek, Haitian, Vietnamese, Polish, etc) in Boston and LOVED IT! I relocated my family to MD in the early 2000's and had the opportunity to interact with many other cultures from Africa and South America. Although I have always LOVED other cultures I have not had the opportunity to experience it first hand. I am anticipating moving to SOUTH Korea (LOL) this summer and excited to experience that first hand. I have been taking Hangugo lessons so I will be able to at least order lunch. :) I have two daughters who also want to experience Korea through volunteering. I want to be able to do exactly what you have done here: draw a line between our similarities and explain the differences. I loved what you have done here, and look forward to many more insightful interviews like this in the future. Sisi: check out "WeFancy" vloggers and "Asian Boss". I love them and they are "real", like you! I hope to be able to take you out to lunch one day. You are so sweet and genuine. I commend you for living outside the box, and encourage you to continue to challenge yourself (but not enough to freak our parents [aka "Mom"] out). LOL!
I have to speak on this: I don't know why anyone would want to be a KPop idol. Their system of "training" seems so military like. Also, I wonder how much of the money these performers actually get for themselves. It seems the company would get the larger %. It's like the really old Hollywood Studio system of "grooming" only starting from a much younger age. I wonder how happy these young people actually are. There seems to be a lot of mental illness, particularly depression in these kids.
Totally agree. Especially now that globalization has become even more prominent with groups like BTS, BlackPink, etc. The standard is even HIGHER for them now. It makes me think about Sulli and Jonghyun and how unhappy they were at the end of their lives. It’s really concerning but at the same time I understand how they feel and how badly they worked so it makes me want to support them even more.
Wow! He was pretty nice to help you answer the questions. Yet! Amazed how they drank and party so hard. Good for him for not drinking.👏 for his open mind and even said that he rather hold a deeper convo. Insta is not active anymore.
a fun vid that was its was so interesting to watch and the controversy of you two was awesome you didnt really look nervous in all great video hope you make more luv youuuu
For International/Interracial couples such as AMBW, I hurt me so much that we need to be accepted so badly. Most Asian men, including American born ones, like to date/marry to whom gives them the advantage or to get ahead, nothing more. I have even dated a few Asian men, along with Hispanic/Latino men and my Black men. I did not expect them to bring me home to their parents because I know my black skin would be a problem and I am NOT the type to sit quiet and "take it". I LOVE MY BLACK SKIN! I would date them 2-3 times and let go of them and cut off communication, nothing more.. Also, men are men to me. I do understand that they do not want to lose their heritage and culture. They do not want to disappear, but keep intact.. I get that. Some of my black people are like that too.. But in the "game", it is about advantage, upgrade, wealth, eliteism, and power, not love (LOSE THE MONEY AND WATCH). To the AMBW and AWBM couples who are really in it for love, I hope that they "fully" understand what they are up against and strong enough to survive,; and have those deep race relations with their children. It appears to me only from what I have seen in situations, that some Asian women act kind of naive about it or brush it off; and some of my brothers become suddenly surprised when it happenes in Asia and other foreign countries,, but they don't address the tears on their biracial children's faces. It hurts so much to see these children face this reality daily from school and from relatives whether in South Korea, another Asian country and/or in the good ol' U.S.A. I wonder what programs and services does SK have to support biracial children? One day, I hope that we can live in the whole world where race does not matter. Ase', A'Ho
I love that music in the background. It reminds mee of Just One Day by BTS♥♥!! I couldn't help but laugh when I saw that small clip of Danny Phantom. I relly miss watching that show T ^ T
KO is a sweetheart. I think he's darling. He's so adorable. I love his smile. Alena and Joe got a You Tube channel and they're an interracial couple. They have a large family and they get along just fine. I love watching them. That was so enjoyable. One of your best interviews. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I'm a new subscriber and I just watched this video and OMG! I was in the Army when I was younger and stationed in SK for a long time. I ended up living in SK when I got out and when I moved back to the states, people to this day still say: "OMG I'm glad you're ok. Korea is dangerous and that leader, Kim Jon." I'm like "Bruh, that's North Korea and he died." they're like "there's a difference?" LMAO
I had a life long friend he passed away we went almost everywhere together even slept in the same bed we were just friends n friends only until he passed away so yes men n woman can b friends if u r mature enough
I have been looking at jobs in Korea and didnt think about the culture of drinking with ones boss, as someone who strictly does not drink is there a socially acceptable way out of this in Korea?
@@sisilessthan3 Come on guys we all know by now black guys do date, married and have family with Asian girls this been happening for a very long time lol For me it's how you treat me, care about me, respect each other, and teaching each other about our culture and grow together that's what I look for in a partner. I can't be with just any girl you know like for me personally I need substance in a relationship don't just bring your pretty face and body to the table ummm like hellooo what else do you offer Fr you know lol if it's just your pretty face and body then I don't want it I need substance in a relationship with my partner 😩❤️
Only black Americans and western white ppl are ok with dating outside their ethnicity but other ppl from around the world don't think like that and nothing wrong with that. It's all about being patriotic and loyal to ur country
Id say from some of my friends married to black men or other way round my friend said her daughters hair is different so her husband's aunt will braid hair or different things in their hair or their black culture is different from white culture it can n does work but still some people still dont except interacial relationships however im the same as you both its a connection being on same page same values
