I'll wait for James Hoffman's review
Can’t wait for that video.
Absolutely! @jameshoffmann
Agreed.
Me too
Same
Important question: is there a magnet that automatically aligns the carafe?
I don't even use auto-drip coffee makers, but I want this just for the design and quality. I have so many Fellow products and they are one of the few companies who put a lot of effort into design and build quality, over just getting flashy products to market.
I think their design is great...but Fellow's quality control has been notoriously bad in the company's history.
Nice to see Michael Fabian is alive and well. Loved his channel.
"Coffee Educator and Coffee Nerd" lol -- Michael where have you been
Looks awesome!
Wow-earlier this week I was torn between the Ration Six and the Mocccamaster, and decided to wait because I could not make up my mind. Glad I waited!
I love my Moccamaster though! It makes GREAT coffee and the shocking thing is how fast it brews. Priceless.
We have the fellow ode as a grinder but it’s paired with our Moccamaster. For a small period of time our Ode had issues. Support for the product was so slow the issue fixed itself over the week or two while waiting for responses. The moccamaster on the other hand is a tank with zero issues, and I’ve heard techniforms customer support is amazing. I would go with a a moccamaster and not look back. If you want features… and technology.. yep this may be it. If you just want damn good coffee that’s consistent and reliable… it’s the moccamaster hands down
I've had a Moccamaster for a few years, but ordered the Aiden.
yeah, been saving up for the ratio 8 but may just end up getting this one
Can't wait to see some reviews!
I'm not just a coffee snob, but a knob snob as well, the knob press at 0:16 looked a little wobbly. Please make the knob feel good!
Beautiful looking bit of kit
I’ll be ready when an Aidan + Ode bundle goes live!
Honestly the included 3 bags of beans for presale is the better deal imo
@@jbnelson its only 75 bucks
@@user-ju9nm2qo9w and the Aiden + Ode will be like $50
I'm digging this.
Its beautiful 🖤
You have added many features that Ratio missed the ball on. Love my Ratio Six, but wish it had more features like this.
I have a moccmaster already, but this has me considering an upgrade.
Same, and I upgraded 😊
I'd really look at the warranty situation before doing that. Moccamaster is five years and after that it's a really low flat flee where they fix not only the issue but anything else they find, and have it back to you in a couple days. Phenomenal service, and not a lot to go wrong since there's no pump in the Moccamaster.
Same here! Moccamaster owner, but ordered the Aiden to try out.
Looks great. How long will I have to wait for a white version to match my other Fellow products? 😅
Looks sick
Dang, I want it
i'd like to see more on the water tank, i have the breville precision brewer and the tank doesnt come off so i have to fill a cup and pour it in ever time.
Nick is exactly how I would imagine a coffee genius to be like
Pretty sweet! Finally something new on the market. Does the user select how much water is dispensed or does the brewer simply empty the tank?
You can choose! Instant Brew will brew whatever is in the tank, just like a standard coffee maker; but Guided Brew and Profiles will dispense only the amount of water you select.
Of course it sounds like the best machine out there given all the features. However, seems like the more complexity and features means more things to break or go wrong. Thats a thought I keep in mind before purchasing..well anything for the most part. Hope thats not the case here but too early to know.
Gamechanger! Looks amazing, great work on an awesome new product!
As someone named Aidan, I had a chuckle watching this.
Must be awkward where everybody wants to brew you. 😅
Yeah, they can't get enough of my precise temperature control.
When will you have availability for UK order?
YESS !!
Any release planned for the european market?
They're working on (CE) certification, which takes time and is a bit unpredictable.
🎉🎉🎉
Will it come in additional colors? Please say yes.
looks cool, but what I'm gonna do with my moccamaster? :)
Important question: can we trade in our Ratio Six for the Aiden? lol. This is what I wanted from a home brewer all along. What do I do with the old brewer now?
If this had an ode 2 grinder built in, it would be even better.
When will a 220v version be available?
Does it have plastic parts?
Curious how this compares to a Moccamaster. Do you think that makes bad coffee?
Cool. What’s the subscription service for using the app!?
it's worth for versatility and engineering/r&d/tech compared to hiroria v60 with a kickstarter price of 399. hiroria is a lot of flash, but fellow a lot of substance. engineers care about substance. fellow is one of the few tech driven coffee companies.
I think It would be cool to have presets loaded from some well respected baristas. Settings that have temperature, pulse and all that based on what they prefer. Very cool machine nonetheless. I hope It lives up to the hype!
will it come in matte white to match my grinder thooooo? 😎
Seems great, but I guarantee the $365 price tag puts off basically anyone that wasn't already a coffee nerd. It's going to need something to drop that down to entice more into the space.
To be fair, that's kinda already their market. I can't imagine too many non-coffee nerds are buying $350 grinders and $170(+) kettles
No way. The drip machine market is such hot garbage. Just shipping a solidly built machine definitely has a market.
You’re not wrong, but Fellow’s audience is coffee nerds. Almost all of their products are around this price tag. It’s in the same range as what I anticipate being its main competition for design-forward dripper: Moccamaster and Breville.
I’m surprised it’s ONLY $365 from them.
@@yousawnothing644 I honestly would have expected closer to like $500.
Get this shipping to the UK
How do you clean the shower head?
Drip coffee works and tastes great. The rest is still trying.
As a Ode Gen 1 owner, I recommend pass the first generation after they get feedbacks for Gen 2
What are the materials? Please tell me it’s not all plastic!
It looks like sharp ibarista will be a better choice.
Preordered!!
Buying just for the RGB ! 😂
Has Fellow gotten their temperature sensor issues under control yet? (Stagg EKG shenanigans)
I wait for the white version, where the early love...
Wow this looks like Native Instruments designed a coffee machine (big compliment on the industrial design) ;) I am an espresso man (using pods unfortunately)
A bit disappointed it doesn't have immersion brewing capability. Rarely busted out a v60 at home since 2012 (AeroPress almost every day), and certainly not since I started using the Clever Dripper a year ago. I guess the immersion process is pretty simple--and you still need to have a scale on deck to weigh your beans. Maybe its just an unnecessary product!
How tall is it with the lid open?
I frankly am struggling with finding a market for this product as a long time fellow fan. They'll really need to work on selling it to non-coffee nerds, because most who have a drip brewer already have a moccamaster, ratio, or Breville precision (late to market) or they're so dialed in, they'll settle for nothing less than a true pour over.
I think this could make fantastic coffee, perhaps better than the aforementioned drip brewers, but they'll probably struggle to move units initially while this product finds its footing.
I'm hoping it does well since I like Fellow as a company, but I'm not at a place where I'd buy one.
I want to come back here and say that I stand corrected, I watched Nick's breakdown w/ Brian and there are so many incredible features on this it puts the Breville to shame. Absolutely nuts levels of customizability, I would love to get a chance to taste coffee from this to see if it could supplant my Moccamaster. Really cool stuff, great work Fellow team.
Saw your updated comment but just wanted to add that I’m the perfect demographic for this product. I really like quality coffee, but I have to be at work early in the morning and I’m not enough of a morning person to take the time to make a proper pour over. I’m tired of settling for Keurig. Scheduling (practically) pour over coffee with full customization in a sealed chamber with night before grinds is a game changer. First time Fellow buyer and put my preorder in.
I ordered the Aiden and looking forward to comparing it to my Moccamaster.
Wait, Nick why’d you chop off the beard?!!
Thumb up for a white one!!
Nick said it’s coming!
👍
I know it’s all BPA free, but I’d gladly pay a little more for less plastic components. Replace with some more glass and metal! Or even ceramic
Looks fancy, but I'll keep my Moccamaster. It's fast, makes great coffee, and its easy to bloom coffee. The carafe on my Moccamaster is made of glass. Not a fan of the dark (metal?) pitcher of the Aiden. There is something visually satisfying about seeing the coffee brew; watching the clear water transform to rich coffee, seeing that "pot of coffee" in the glass, topping off someone's coffee, seeing the coffee pour. Small thing, but... it's all part of that cuppa.
Felt same
Ehhhh. How does this compete against the Brevile/Sage and Moccomaster?
Love the glass carafe on my Moccamaster, the clear water tank. The Moccamoaster tastes great, of course, but... I like to see the coffee brewing. Something satisfying in that... IMHO.
Would have preordered it immediately if it didn’t cost $125 to ship to Canada 😢
All shipping is crazy now. I just got a quote on shipping a small narrow table made of cast aluminum that weighs only 42 pounds and it was twice the price of the item, nearly $600 for shipping.
I saw the fellow logo and immediately knew…I cannot afford this
Is he caraf thermo…?
Does Aiden tell you what grind setting to use on Ode?
Ship to Mexico please!!! 😢😢😢😢
I cant think for myself. I will wait for others’ opinion on this before i cast judgement
Meticulous …?! ❤
Hopefully you don't build these in China, have plenty of spares on hand (carafe and water tank) and redesign the hopper on the Ode and I will buy the Ode grinder again. The Ode was almost perfect, except that I have to feed the beans in by shaking or hitting the machine.
Drip coffee is still a thing? 😂😂😂
lol. Ok
How does this compare to Lance Hendricks approved xBloom?
Well considering it can make more than a cup at a time and has much better extraction rate, plus no required app? For half the price? No brainer imo
@@jbnelson Thanks for that bit of info. I am a bit wary of apps for everything.
@@KalidasRadhakrishnan As someone who spent money on a Vessyl Prime which blinks constantly now that the company is defunct, I’ve learned my lesson.
@@jbnelson Agree. I went thru a similar issue with coffee scales. Got carried by fake Amazon reviews
Sage Precision has almost the same features with less aesthetic look. But its almost half the price so not an upgrade for me
I have and agree the Precision Brewer is great, but if I’m reading their website correctly, it looks like you can play around with the bloom volume and the pulse timing of the bloom, both which you can’t do with the Breville. I’ll pre-order to try it out, knowing if I don’t like it, I can return it and just stick with my precision brewer.
Would an OLED screen have been THAT MUCH more expensive to put in it?
Shame it's this big
This is not true coffee, this is water with a littel bit of coffee
The crazy wiring at the back at 1:40 looked like the rug you sweep all the garbage under 😮. I can’t believe they’re saying it’s the best on the market and no one has tried it. Just a tip guys, this is your baby. Turn off comments.
Is that what the back is or does it just have a cover removed? That was my interpretation?
Update: Yes it typically has a cover, in that timestamp it just has a panel taken off (Source: Fellow Instagram Story)
Cool, but as someone that has a breville precision brewer just languishing in storage, definitely not going to buy this.
This is a joke, right?
I’ve yet to see fellow solve a legitimate problem
Why hasn’t the coffee equipment company solved the Middle-East?? They keep releasing products for making coffee???
No
Pity you went plastic. Not touching anything plastic as plastic leaches (all types) into the substances we drink / eat so yeah hard no from me, I'll pass till you keep up with some better quality non plastic material (either glass or stainless steel)
You don’t need this I promise
Wait until you're 63 like me and look around at all the stuff in your life that you now have to downsize and realize how much different it could've been if you weren't virtually programmable to be constantly needing and wanting. :-)
@@upscalebohemian5372 34 here and currently semi going through that 🥲
This must be a joke
Another poorly supported product from Fellow
Isn't this same as Breville Precision Brewer but with the app? Breville has a pour over adapter kit too. I am not sure what's innovative about Aiden. I personally prefer Technivom Moccamaster. I find the automated pour overs are too gimmicky. The best so far was Ratio Eight. Hario also has Hikaru, which is super expensive for what it does.
Awful design.
Looks like a Pour Over version clone of the Meticolous. Why are coffee nerds (mustache/hipster hat & tattoos) so infactuated with machine AI coffee. Just use that precious gooseneck. It has become a pathetic industry. Everyone using such colorful jargon to make it seem like their nose and tongue is a so called Q-rater. Its so subjective. Listen i respect Fellow to some of the producta they put out but for this to be another toy for Hedrick to review is just B.S. Ths industry is laughable.
It's because of repeatability. A machine can duplicate how it does something with way more precision than a human can. If you like consistency in your pour over something like this is probably a great addition to your coffee collection.
Thats why the clever dripper exists. Instant repeatability. If you cant precise variables then one must stop with v60, pulse pours, bloom this, bloom that. Your comment is totally understandable. When one nails a great amd subjective drink, they want to repeat. However that can be achieved by elimanting steps that cause such variations. Use the K.I.S.S technique.
Sorry you're so miserable. 😂😂
How does this use AI?
I'll pre order because you didn't start the video with your pronouns and kept it about the product.
Cannot wait for the @jameshoffman review
