It took time to realize the Russia was blustering and not likely to use nuclear weapons.
And it took even more time to realize that even if they intended to use nuclear weapons, that we could not allow a nation to invade another Nation simply because they had nuclear weapons. That will lead to nuclear proliferation which makes nuclear war more likely.
So where we are now is that even if Russia does use nuclear weapons, we're still going to ensure they lose in ukraine to prevent all-out nuclear war in the future.
But make no mistake, even if Russia has lost 90% of their nuclear Arsenal due to poor maintenance, they still have enough to destroy human civilization four times over.
However Putin and the oligarchs are all living like kings and going nuclear means they would be very likely to die and lose their plush lifestyle.

About america there is a separate conversation and it is useless to talk...
America has its own benefits and its own interests, from which, as history and experience show, it is capable of benefiting in both cases...

The US politicians never learn: they gave North Vietnam a sanctuary in Laos and a sanctuary for the Taliban in Pakistan, and Russia a sanctuary neighboring Ukraine. Sanctuary for your enemy loses wars.

@@lw1zfog the reality is that the western world financial elites use usa and nato to get to the limitless rescources of russia ...so they hyjacked ukraine in the chaos after the fall of communism ...tried with their sockpuppet jeltsin the same in russia ... 500 yrs ago ..the world financial elites always had sockpuppets working for their financial gain .. like spain portugal ... after that enland and france (napoleon ) and since 100 yrs the new usable idiot became the usa and nato (therefore europe as well)

    Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦 from 🇦🇺
