I’m a six foot tall twenty one stone forty one year old bloke and i’m fighting back tears watching this. If something like would’ve been available when i was a young ‘un, there’s every chance i’d have made something of my goddamn life. I’ve been through chemical dependence alcoholism, homelessness and most forms of abuse up to and including sexual assault. I’ve even nearly lost an arm through out of control self injury. There ain’t no real reason as to why i felt the need to share all that i have, but what i will say is that we need more of these types of inpatient facilities for younglings. Unlike myself, there’s every chance that these young people can be treated and then stabilised to the point where, unlike me, they’ll end up productive societally enriching pillars of their communities.
