    The 326 jumped out at me as the smoothest instrument. I never thought I would pick something over rosewood, but today it's the 326. Period.

    I purchased an 816ce Builder's Edition a few months ago and it is the best sounding Taylor I've ever played. It is an absolute cannon for volume but warm and articulate for fingerpicking. I've recently changed from playing Taylor's 14 size body to the 16 because I prefer the additional volume and base I get from the slightly larger body. After 25 years of playing, this is the 8th Taylor I've owned and a clear winner for my playing style.

    All of them sound beautiful. I play a 4 year old 816 but to me the 326 sounded best. Maybe I should look to a trade...

    I just bought a 326CE from SweetWater Sound tonight. WOW....you have to hear this guitar in person and in a private room environment to really hear the tones ring out. What a beautiful instrument!

    The 326ce is my favorite in this comparison. My own Taylor guitar is the 322ce 12fret.

    He'll yeah 326ce I got one of this and I love the sound worth every penny! Taylor is the best when it comes to acoustic. I owned 214ce and this 326ce.

    I now own the K26ce. It plays like a dream and I believe this is where the technology like the v bracing and soundport enhance the woods since it makes the koa louder and have more projection and sustain with the beautiful tonal qualities of koa.

    I'm usually a rosewood guy and have looked at a couple of those k26 models but the 326 ran away with this one.

    I have the 326ce and I absolutely LOVE the way it plays and sounds, EXCEPT plugged into our church's sound system. Plugged in it sounds harsh and lacks fullness, as well as having a lower output level. My 2016 312ce plugged in sounds much fuller and richer than the larger 326ce....seems so weird to me! I sent it back to Sweetwater for repair and they said Taylor told them they "upgraded" the preamp in 2017. I had hoped to use this guitar while leading worship at church, but now I guess it will just be my "at home" guitar. Very disappointing.😢

      I purchased the 326ce in June and play it at church plugged into the sound system as well. I love the way it sounds either on its own or amplified.

      @@maryp4601 I'm glad your's sounds good. Does yours sound similar plugged in as played acoustically? Mine sounds like a completely different guitar when plugged in. I was shocked how bad mine sounded and that's why I sent it back to Sweetwater for repair....but they said nothing was wrong with it. I've owned several Taylors and this is the only one that sounded bad plugged in.

    326 (by a nose), 816 and then the K26 to my ears.for strumming.326 by bigger margin for FP. I tried the new 500 series with Iron Bark at the local store. The 514 stood out to me. A tone all its own. The 512 seemed too small for the wood.

    For the $$$ and because of the sound and looks, the win goes to the 326. Best guitar here.

    I bought the 326ce prior to seeing any of these comparisons. It just felt and sounded perfect when I played, compared several guitars and ultimately purchased the 3236ce. Since then I've seen/read/heard several comparisons and my opinion has only been validated. I love the sound of this guitar and love playing it.

    Deja vu all over again from last Night's Taylor Primetime. We asked Andy Powers about a maple back & torrified top (600 series), & he said it would take some redesign for the sound port. I like the 816ce Builders Edition.

    I love the sound of all these Grand Symphony models. My question after listening to this showdown 3 times is, that you say the 326ce mahogany top has urban ash back and sides. But when I look at the model and it’s spec’s it says it’s mahogany back and sides.. Am I missing something or is this a new model upgrade?

  • @panzrwagn
    @panzrwagn Před 2 lety

    When I bought my GS-Mini it was the same story, albeit on a smaller scale - Rosewood/Spruce; Mahoghany/Spruce, and Koa..Even though the sides & back are laminated tonewoods and the tops are solid, the Koa was far and away my favorite.

    Love that 326 (actually all of them) but...... how much direct sound is there mixed in? And.... why didn't you stereo mic these since they have the sound port?? Nevertheless the 326 is in my sights right now haha!
