      Thank you Mango Slice! My "guess" is that it would fit the ALU 1.0 unit, I've missed some of the history between v1.0-1.1 but unless the spinner diameter/layout changed it may work. I'll have to check with the expert, Glen 😎👍

      @Mango Slice yes that was supposed to be a spoof video but the idea took off.

    This is very cool. Was hoping the wheel would simply slip over, and clamp directly to the spinner, without having to remove the spinner head, but it's still very cool. I'll definitely have to look into this.

    Great video, thanks for sharing! I picked this wheel up at my local Microcenter based on this clip alone! I installed it on the dual arcade fighter board they sell there as well. I had already added the Atari Spinner controller and figured this would be a nice addition/upgrade, especially when I realized I tend to play more vintage racing games than the spinner type (Tempest, Arkanoid, etc). I can verify the GRS wheel fits perfectly with the Atari Spinner (saw in the comments where some were asking). I unscrewed the Atari spinner, slapped the new wheel on its stem, tightened it down with two allen screws, done. The only real trick was finding a comfy spot on the board to mount the wheel where it doesn't impede the other controls - I ended up putting mine in front (had to drill a new hole obviously) because that just felt better than trying to raise it higher as shown in this video or moving it way off to one side, etc. I LOVE this thing, it captures the old skool driving feel beautifully! It's heavy, sturdy, grippy and rotates buttery smooth. Now playing Power Drift, Pole Position, Ridge Racer, Out Runners, Super Off Road, etc, feel like their arcade versions at home! The spinner alone was "ok" and made them playable but this wheel really takes it to the proper level! Great product.

    What about making an adapter for the ALU that raises the steering wheel, but the angles it towards the user?

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk  Před 2 lety

      That wouldn't be easily do-able. If you angle down the wheel would just spin all over the place. It would be possible with a set of gears, but it would be quite a contraption and likely noone would use it.

    Does your spacer adapter work for the buttonhole spinner adapter as well?

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk  Před 2 lety

      I don't have one to test, but I think it will only work with the V1 or V2 spinner. The buttonhole spinner uses a small diameter hole from what I understand and the larger one is needed for this print. However, the models could be updated to use it, most likely.

  • @waynerice4918
    @waynerice4918 Před 2 lety +1

    On the Atgames Legend Ultimate you would probably not have use the 3d adapter if you change the joysticks to a Sanwa Detachable joystick lever that they sale at Focus Attack. Of course the cost goes up when you buy the joysticks and removing the old joysticks requires some skill hands and some knowledge. But also what does it cost to make the part from a 3D printer and finding some company or someone to make it for you? And I not sure I like the wheel wobble with the adapter.Thanks for the great video.

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk  Před 2 lety
