- Sky News foreign reporter Annelise Nielsen says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s trip to Britain for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations played out “really badly”.
“This is just a very good example of how they haven’t kept the relationship going in the United Kingdom - whether that’s what they want to or not,” Ms Nielsen told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“They had every potential to be a more significant part of the Jubilee weekend, but they really were sidelined.”
They were not sidelined, they were put in their proper place, and they should have been greatful that they were invited afterall they've said and done about their own families

They probably had a private meeting with Prince Charles and Duchess, they were warned ahead of time this wasn't about them. They had ample time to record then. Queen was anxious to meet the children. They've been in touch by computer all along.

@@aarceo7636 l'll remind you - England was in the middle of covid restrictions when Prince Phillip was last in the hospital in London - Prince Charles quietly visited the hospital using the back entrance but was seen by photographers. It's understood that The Queen did not visit the hospital but that was quite normal because the Royal Family have never made many hospital visits whenever a member of their family have been in hospital and l'm talking over 50 yrs to my knowledge. Prince Phillip was known to never want a fuss. Prince Phillip would have received excellent care from our health service.

Apparently the photographer they brought along to the meeting to introduce their daughter, was banned by the Queen.

They arrive in a royal car, a Bentley I think, very secure with bullet proof glass etc what does Mrs Windsor do? rolled down the window!! So much for H insisting on extra security!! They certainly were not sidelined. They rapidly accepted the gracious invitation by HM, gushing on social media about going to support HM and introduce their daughter.
They were seated - along with family members - according to rank, which as ex nonworking royals isn’t very far up the pecking order.
The Queen asked them to mingle with invited guests at The Guildhall Lunch but as soon as they were booed leaving the Cathedral they were off back to Frogmore Cottage like rats up a drainpipe. So they couldn’t even carry out the ONE duty asked of them by HM. So much for supporting the Queen. They left for America before the final appearance of The Queen and her Heirs on the balcony (shocker)

They should have been in a mini bus with the York’s and junior Royals but arrived late at Clarence House so a car was hurriedly arranged . I was furious when HM Queen invited them but after watching them pushed back row in the church and not invited to anything else plus being booed🤣. Went home early. Game set and match HM Queen❤

They were meant to travel to the thanksgiving service by bus, not car, but according to Lady C, when they got wind of that, they held back to travel by car, which is why they were 15 minutes late. My brother serves in the RGR and they refused to even discuss Harry, beyond the fact that they believe he's without honor and no longer worthy of salute. Considering the long regimental history with the Queen I didn't find it surprising. There were better ways of him dealing with his personal issues, than turning to what he did. History is not in isolation - there are hundreds of thousands if not more; of interwoven lives. It's very complex. How many elements of the former Empire met - may not be something that they can appreciate today; but it was not all in loathing. Not all in some negative context - and thus as you can imagine, regardless of viewpoint - there are a great deal of Royalists who have very interesting and meaningful stories to tell. From their nations, family histories and fond memories. For Harry to take a hammer to them, especially since the allied evolution from lessons learned - into what we have today. How much we have lost together as a western world facing down evil, making amends. He spat on all of that, from the veterans perspective. It makes me sad. Hearing from HFH and other charitable organizations that deal with the veterans and wounded - that they feel like he stabbed them in the back. The Queen, is a larger than life character in the commonwealth. A person who has overseen a great deal of shift and independence. Many who returned to the commonwealth have a totally different perspective on past events and consider their membership and the Royals in modern times a precious thing. Tradition and history mattering because it's a legacy and reminder of their ancestors now long gone. To treat it so generically and wash over it like it's some garbage. To let the Queen down, when the responsibility over the years - especially when she was younger and visiting us here in Hong Kong - is far too much. It's disrespectful because he's apparently forgotten that some of us are proud of the past in no small way; not oblivious to its flaws; but aware that for hundreds of years we learned. We grew. We changed and we were proud in the end of being able to share. Something in which they are no longer welcome.
People of course can hold any perspective they like as individuals. But Harry held a position and responsibility. One that he once claimed to care about. He no longer gives it the time of day, thanks to his narcissistic wife. People like to constantly drone on about 'race'. The British may be many things. But Racist? Today? When his Regimental HQ is full of men and women of all different stripes and colors from around the world. No. It's not for race that we dislike her. It's for the agenda. For the thing that is very clearly hatred and spite for people who do not share a world view or opinion on the family.
In the end; we came together as enemies and moved beyond it to become friends. We have held the line against Nazi, Communist and worse besides. For them to drag up the past lessons. Just how many different people and organizations exist. That for every, 'racism' accusation for example - there are people abroad working with us, who work every day - In some of the most awful conditions - with no racial barriers at all. It's a team effort. With only one concern. Are you good - or are you out for yourself. To think of us as 'racist' when we've been Mongol/Indian/Nepali/Han British, sat around a fire with Fijians, dancing with Jamaicans! From literally everywhere. All under the Queen's modern banner. I just can't even process it.... race never entered our heads!
I don't believe that anyone who has ever met the Queen really felt like there was anything but sincere care for the world there. She's drawn such a global support because of that. People from many different perspectives and attitudes.
People like to deflect by saying this is an attack on 'difference' - their favorite argument. They seem to hate an idea that they've been told. Very very few take the time to come and meet us. Yet, money aside; why don't more people do that? And they would be welcome all over the commonwealth to do so. They would see the tireless hours the men and women put in. Until the supposed 'glorious communists' forced us to change it. So much for being free without the British. My point being - consider ALL of our perspectives. If they infact claim to care at all.
Harry and his wife have forgotten that and easily become villains themselves. It's all too easy to hate something to the point you become it. Those who sympathize with either side are welcome to do so. Just don't forget - that we don't blindly follow. We choose to. HM Queen Elizabeth, earned our respect. She did. Nobody else influenced it.

Maybe they were sidelined by not being put in the centre of the attention (as it was NOT about them) and being put in the right place according to the protocol, BUT they had invitations to all the other events and they chose NOT to appear. Probably because they knew that nobody will take the focus from the main event, the celebration of the 70 years of service of the Queen, to bring it on them.
IF they really wanted to have a reunion and talk with their relatives, they should have come to the UK months before this event. Harry knew, from his own experience, how busy ALL the members of the Royal Family would be at this time.

I read yesterday that they were supposed to be on the bus with most of the other minor royals like Beatrice and Eugenie but conveniently they arrived late for the bus and missed it and had to get a ride with one of the security team in a Range Rover. That is why they made a grand entrance by themselves instead of in a crowd of people and why the cousins had to get out of their seats to let them in to their seats.

Imagine the pain that Harry must be going through. I know he's messed up with his choice of woman, but she's cost him everything he ever knew and loved. He's miles from home, miles from his military comrades, miles from his flesh and blood (in more ways than one) and miles from the hearts of the British people who had, since his birth, genuine affection for him. I'm worried for him, and can honestly sense something awful will befall Harry. I so want to be wrong but he looks utterly miserable since he got into her unhealthy clutches. I'm sad for Harry & William. They lost their mother, now each other. I thought H&M would remain in the UK after they married. Maybe they would have liked to. A quiet life. I am not sure if the Queen even went to see them. Usually there are photos of HM"s goings and comings, even if they show her in the vehicle. I think she new what was going to happen when she showed up and decided to stay home. I also read that she invited haz and mm to bring the kids to see her but they refused. They knew that they couldn't set up hidden devices.
