Ja. Es ist die Friedrichstadt. Vor und nach dem ersten Weltkrieg die nobelste Gegend für Konsum und Nachtleben.
Da sieht es natürlich nicht aus wie im Wedding oder in Friedrichshain oder Prenzlauer Berg, in all den Arbeiterwohnvierteln, die immer im Windschatten der Industriebetriebe liegen und somit mit den Abgasen der Betriebe leben müssen, bei denen sie ihr kärgliches Einkommen erarbeiten, ganz entspannt mit einer 50-Stunden-Woche. Vorm Krieg (erster) sogar gern 60 bis 70 Stunden, dazu noch ein bis zwei Stunden Fußweg (!) zur Arbeit und zurück, denn nicht jeder konnte sich die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel leisten...
Eine wirklich traumhaft schöne Komposition der Musik der zwanziger Jahre.
Es ist nicht alles schlecht, was früher einmal gut war !
Diese Leute hatten viele Talente, was wir heute nicht mehr haben.
Das Morphin war besser zu der Zeit. Drogen waren damals schon allgegenwärtig und salonfähig. Es ist keine Erfindung der Neuzeit.
Ich pfeife die schönen Melodien unterwegs beim Einholen .Bekomme sehr schöne lächelnde Gesichter zu sehen.
Ich liebe alle diese photos von einem schönen Berlin daß, traurigerweise, nichts mehr ist. Ich liebe das deutsche Volk und seine Kultur. Ah, die deutsche Music ! Schöne Deutschland und Österreich !

GAM3RS ASSASS1N nothing sir, swing is younger than early jazz, swing started in 1935, early jazz started in the 10s in new orleans i think, and it was first recorded in 1917

+GAM3RS ASSASS1N ragtimes, classical ,marches ,one step, waltzes and landmusik (bauernkapelle) the folk music, but jazz was imported after ww1 by american military band, like the one of eugene bullard in france.
you can find some early example of jazz in europe in 1918/19 symphonic orchestra were playing jazz, (the song of the odjb) in some occasions, like this:

John Bloodrose this music is timeless, and unique, today it can t be reproduced well, because the early electrical recording metod was used only from 1925 to the early 30s,i also like softer metal.

+John Bloodrose Why outlawed? The NS had great music. They mostly outlawed music and literature that had to do with prostitution and pornography which was rampant from 1920 to 1933. People had to survive somehow and sold themselves off for anything.

@Patriot Patrice Meine Antwort kommt zwar verspätet aber ich meinte dass die Straßen von gefährlichen Flüchtlingen besetzt ist. Damit meine ich nicht alle Flüchtlinge denn ich bin auch mit ein paar befreundet, aber die die in den Parks sind sind höchst gefährlich.

Ich würde gerne drei Dinge anbringen:
1. Ist unser Blick auf die vergangene "gloreiche" Zeit immer vertrübt. Kameras konnten sich nur gutsituierte leisten und Parkanlagen waren ebenso just jenen vorbehaten. Sprich, die Gebärden des einfachen Volkes bekommt man i.d.R. als Laie nicht zu Gesicht, sondern lediglich als Historiker, der im Archiv nach Polizeiberichten o.Ä. sucht. Deshalb sieht alles deutlich feiner aus, als es im Schnitt war.
2. Ist es schlichtweg falsch, Menschen auf eine "Ideologie" und "Moral" herunterzubrechen. Die Zeiten des "wir" und "die anderen" ist lange vorbei. Die Gesellschaften sind deutlich diverser geworden, da kann man nicht mehr von einem einzigen Erziehungsbild usw. sprechen.
3. Das geht besonders an "Odette": Man muss einfach unterscheiden zwischen Formen der Migration unterscheiden. Japaner, die nach Deutschland migrieren haben einfach einen sehr striken sozio-ökonomischen Hintergrund, sprich: der allgemeine Japanier migriert nicht nach Deutschland, sonder nur das gehobene Bürgertum. Wenn es jedoch um Flicht geht, dann migrieren alle Schichten, ob arm, oder reich, ob gebildet, oder ungebildet. Ganz grob gesagt: Flüchtlinge aus Syrien decken z.B. großteilig in Deutschland einen Querschnitt ihrer Gesamtbevölkerung ab, während Migranten aus Japan nur einen kleine Ausschnitt darbieten.

I always seem to come back to this video. It’s crazy how long ago it’s been. I remember being in middle school when I first did discover this video, and now I’m almost finished high school; Junior right now!

+caspar politman Se dovessi stilare una classifica delle mie preferenze sulle "band" (orchestre, non a caso si definivano anche "jazz band") straniere degli anni '20 (e '30) indicherei: 1. Dajos Béla, 2. Otto Dobrindt, 3. Marek Weber. Non dimenticando il fatto che le formazioni orchestrali spesso variavano: fluide come tutte le cose.
Habe meine liebe Barbara letztes Jahr leider nach über 60Jahren verloren. Wir sind Amerikaner, lernten Deutsch und sie wurde eine elegante Dame und jetzt tanze ich ganz allein mit den super Erinnerungen zu dieser Musik mit dankbaren Tränen in den Augen dankbar für unser Leben zusammen.

My mom lived in a town near the Dutch, German border. They had quite early a radio. I'm sure she had heard all these songs during her childhood. Later on came the Großdeutscher Rundfunk with less pleasant stuff.
Habe mal einer jener Melodieen gepfiffen als ich in Berlin spatzieren ging. Da pfiff doch tatsächlich auf einem mal ein sehr betagter Herr mit der auf einer Bank saß. Mit meinem Händy darbei aus dem weitere alte Lieder klangen pfiffen wir beide noch eine ganze Weile in der Mittagssonne, hihihi...

I admit to taking part in conversations and comments here about the war, but for the life of me I can't understand why lovely stuff like this can bring on endless tirades about the war and Germany. it's so odd to think that even the roaring twenties inspired culture across the world, and how soothing and easy this music sounded, despite germany being in absolute ruin.

well, stressman did a great job in 1925-1929, but then wall street collapsed and german economy depended on us dollars so in 1930 the economy completely collapsed, again.

Viaggio entusiasmante nella musica in Germania anni "20 del 1900: operette, canzoni americane e tedesche...tutto gradevolmente sincopato e con buon swing! E tutto con grande professionalità...in barba a chi voleva seppellire certa musica non gradita a chi comandava...in conclusione, ottimo collage musicale!
