      All manufacturers screw their customers....they only care about selling the garbage they make and the bottom line. On another note, consumers are partially to blame because they keep buying the trash the manufacturers make. Dealers don't care either b/c the manufacturers won't pay them for the warranty work (when they approve it). It's a vicious cycle.

    We winter in an RV/park home resort in Casa Grand AZ. We have space on the property where they allow Freedom RV to park about a half dozen RV's for sale. Yesterday, we got a flyer about a 45% off sale. I just watched 3 diesel pushers and 3 5th wheels from Freedom RV enter the gates on their way to the parking area. They are desperate to sell RV's. I've not seen one new RV in the resort. But I do see plenty of privately owned RV's with for sale signs on them. 2024 will not be a good year for the industry.

    We went to a little RV show this weekend. Why can they sell me a new RV right there for $10k less, at the show, but not on site. I understand if they brought those RV's 100's of miles, but at this particular show there were 3 Chains, two within 50 miles of the show. I want to spend more than 5 minutes in it before I even think of bringing out a pen.

    • @jjones5424
      @jjones5424 Před 6 měsíci +9

      It costs dealers EXTRA $ to take units to a show. Those 3 chains would have split the cost of the venue and that adds to the RV price. If they told you that the RV is cheaper "at the show", they are just pressuring people to buy there! ( they are lying!) It would cost THEM less to sell the RV AT THEIR LOT! So wait 2 weeks, if there was a RV that you liked, you could go to the dealer and buy for LESS THAN AT THE SHOW!! (don't even mention that you were at the show) I was in RV sales for 18 yrs.

    The one thing I don't understand in the RV industry, is dealers not willing to work on an RV that they didn't sell. An RV is bought to travel with. Chances are, you quite possibly could be hundreds of miles away from your local dealer when you have a problem. Manufacturers should supply dealers with technicians just for this situation, or have mobile technicians stationed around the country. Or, better yet, when these RV dealers and their employees buy a car at a car dealer, make them have to get repairs done at the dealership they bought it from. That might get the industry thinking!!!

    RV's are a luxury item. When people can't afford to buy food, they also can't afford to buy RV's. The used market is going to be flooded, when people who can no longer afford their RV's are forced to sell, and that will impact new sales, too.

    I have seen how RV are built, like CRAP! They are built with ,1.5" square slats of wood poorly stapled to create a poor partition. The siding is applied to hold the wood slots in place. Those FLIMSEY
    walls and roof are boxed togather . The inner walls and cupboards are
    what holds the bad walls and roof in place. This is why all RV that are
    a few years all leak.by the time the buyer sees rot it is FAR worse behind what you see Andis almost too late to fix! RV are BUILT to be
    planned obsolescence! Also note that RV parks don't allow RV into their parks say 7 to 9 years old and older. The roofs are DESIGNED to
    fail as they have multiple caulked leak points that heat and cold causes the caulk to fail! Putting the metal on roof first then caulking
    The edge THEN puttiing the corner trim over the roof metal and caulking it, then putting screws thru into the frame wood creates holes right inside the walls, IDIOTIC!!
    RV cold be built far better with treated real wood partitions and roofs that have no holes and roof covers that go down over sides, front, back.ASK yourself why RV are not built similar to school busses, step vans etc?? Why, because they LAST!
