lavender town never bothered me too much. i have grown a weird fascination with it even. the music is so high pitched and detuned, it feels unnatural. i love the GBA remake of the song especially, since it's more sad and tragic than dissonant and creepy

TRUE STORY
(earlier this year I was playing a GBA rom hack version of Pokémon red and I was tryna show my friend this theory and how the soundtrack changes upon entering Lavander town and he seemed interested a bit , and after hearing the soundtrack bc he never really played it as a kid ..he stopped what he was doing and gave me a concerning look and said had a bad feeling . I thought he was tryna to troll me a bit or maybe act like I was making sense but within that very moment his father walks on the room we where in to notify us that his grandad in that same house had passed away .) long story short I keep my theories to myself now
I had an experience of barber giving me haircut and died that afternoon. That is like the most omninous thing happened to others in my life and I witnessed and experienced, I felt like I am having ability to curse. At that day I also saw a dead bird on the street
I still have my copy of this version of Pokemon Red! I remember as a kid the lavender town theme would spook me to the point I would always mute it. Maybe I should replay the game again and see what happens hahahah

Not hate, and I know not everyone is into Pokemon (or any franchise, for that matter), but wanted to throw it out there for future script-writing.
The plural for "Pokemon" is just "Pokemon". There's no "s" after.
I've also heard (though I haven't deeply researched this particular rabbit hole) that it was the beta music for at least Green version (which is Japanese exclusive as the very first Pokemon games, even though they remade Green for everyone later on), and possibly Red version. Red and Green came out in Japan first, then Blue version later. Later on, when the game went to places like the US, they updated Red version to the same sprites and upgrades as Blue version, and shipped Red and Blue to everyone else pretty much. So, Green is fairly different in some ways, to what everyone got. The betas are kind of known for being bizarre for early Pokemon games, with some of the spritework and stuff.
This all reminds me of the ghost in the machine concept. Like are the games and codes we make contain a flash of life? Are the characters alive? Or since they operate on electricity, internet, computing etc, can actual ghosts become caught in the game themselves? Since ghosts do travel thru the same signals we use for Wi-Fi, microwave radiation, cosmic radiation, television, cable, internet, etc. I believe we don’t understand very much about the world or universe. I believe we treat everything like we are children who found their dads gun and are now wielding it. That’s how science and technology and medicine all of it acts the same. We never stop and ask should we be doing this. We just continue to research, create, discover without any restrictions or limitations on what we are doing. Only after someone dies or something terrible happens do laws and regulations finally even get discussed.

It’ll buy the Lavender town conspiracy, but the anime of Polygon, skeptical, a few Japanese scientists show what may have happened, and if I’m correct to one died, said the flashing color especially with animation at the time was just new just trigger some psychological trigger by accident, kinda like when some other people are sensitive to photographic flashes, and as for Polygon, maybe they just didn’t show him up anymore because of the negative feedback about the character, and for a Japanese counterpart of the CIA, have to be more detailed about that, The Japanese intelligence isn’t even famous, just a few stories of intercepting a few spies in the country, and wasn’t said of them actually having fundings by the government, and unlike the US, Japan inly spends 1 or 2% of their GPD on military, the rest is just economic, and Japan wasn’t exactly on the mind control program, not like the US, Soviet or maybe even the British, and have never of heard of any Japanese program, that may be dark, if anything they may have largely stay out of the counties got into, like mind control programs and weaponizing things, for Lavender Town the evidence come short and murky for being a purposely mind control program, most do think Nintendo is hiding something about Lavender town, but not some government program, unlike Polybius, which even the origin is hard to trace and if does, show its the government itself, Nintendo is its own independent entity, they even made a remake of the game, without the scary soundtrack of course, but some believe it rather it was cursed or haunted, maybe someone was killed, but my theory is it was put there by a single game developer, don’t know maybe was some black magic or something, old Japanese games are famous on scary urban legends to this day.

@ElysetheEevee To put it short, the Lavender town theory is already debunk it was just something inspired by Polybius, and there is no evidence of suicide in Japan that connects to the game, no evidence or claim that the Japanese government or Nintendo had any sort of project, for the US they use black budget, Japan never had any documents of the game or using black budget

One kid didnt have one or any of those things unless it was over at a friends house never watched a movie except for Pretty in Pink after she read the book it came on the sometimes watched MTV after folks were of of work watched the mid afternoon afterschool stuff with the light music sometimes but mostly game shows on MTV that was all. Didn't watch tv most times not at home and never had a game thingy until after 19yrs old. God hurt saw a girl her age and thought it looked so fun. It was and she got further in the game than she did and found the secret places too. Then found out there was a cheat sheet book for video games but never bought never looked never saw one just heard about it. Some kids get stuff I guess a lot of kids do but not her oh wait Q bert she got that and loved it but no matter if it was on mute or not MOM could hear it and would make her stop. Not very fun as a kid at home more fun before and after school with friends. Outside.
