Great Drive! These cars replaced FF, FC, and FA in the mid 1990's. Super cost effective to run for the level of performance because of the engine longevity, recall 35-40 car fields on the West Coast.
You have a set of brass ones because some of those passes were pure bravado. Congrats on the P1. I raced FM when it was a new national class in the late 1990s. The cars are fast in a straight line but we had a constant problem with understeer. I knew it could go faster in the corners but the harder I pushed the worse the understeer was.
Sebatian- You are correct about the gear display on the dash. For some reason the motec does not work very well when it comes to displaying the correct gear in the Formula Mazdas with their H-pattern gearbox. It works much more accurately with a sequential gearbox.
How does on get started in this? Also does it require a lot of money and could you explain the different types to cars. There was the formula module and then. Thos boxy looking cars
Lovely display of car control, you were absolutely killing it in the braking zones!

Great video- I missed driving there in September- hope we get a chance to go back
Nice moves! Giving everybody room to race
Wow, cool video! Awesome race!
awesome race edit!
What a blast love the end
love the back fireee
I hope to be acquiring one of these chassis's soon. We build a westfield with a 13b renesis engine recently so this would be a great addition.

How many FM's were running at this event? Is FM a well-supported class in the Texas area?
I just had a formula mazda race today at road atlanta. finished 2nd overall 1st in my class. I'm only 16
I'm not sure whats more impressive; how young you are, or more likely, how deep your parents pockets must be.
nathan bailey how about putting videos instead of bragging
What is the cornering G on these FM cars?
Hey I think I met you at a Houston cars and coffee once.
how do you get a formula mazda car?
Build or buy one. Not sure where to buy one tho
What engine?
Not, sure. I think that they are rotaries though.
13B rotaries. They have Weber DCOE carburetors. I raced them in 1995-97.
You got lucky at 3:00 that was a terrible move
Does anybody know a good place to buy these from?
Apex speed forums, Racing junk.com, eBay.
Its like miniature formula 1 and miniature group 6
