Felix has turned into Moregard's kryptonite. And I'm sure it'll take him a lot of soul-searching and training to overcome it.
Exactly what I was thinking. Poor Truls seems hopeless when playing Felix Lebrun. He does not seem to have any solution for him
@@isithardtobevegan53 Yes, and it's Felix's BH that gives him a lot of trouble as the shot quality of it is quite different from that of most shakehand BH.
It's like rock, paper, and scissors between the brothers and Moregard'.
And Alexis is Felix’s kryptonite 😅

Truls doesn't have the game to disturb Felix Lebrun so he got overwhelmed in this match but people saying he is past his prime are wrong. He is still very young and reached the final of the top 16 in Montreux some days ago so he really showed he is very competitive. let's see how it goes for him in 2024 and the years to come.
I can also see that Truls makes tons of errors while playing lately. I wonder if it's a mental thing or if his equipment is too fast for him.

I personally think is mostly a mental problem.

I think it's mental. Especially in the third set where he first got a good lead and then got nervous and melted.
Felix has the mental and tactics of the Champion!
Felix is too fast for Truls to show his creativity.

Le match Alexis Félix va bien au delà du simple meilleur pongiste. Il y a un avantage psychologique énorme pour Alexis
non ,c'est diffèrent avec son frère , peut être psychologique? et les 2 frères s'entrainent ensemble donc Alexis connaît le jeu de Félix!

Alexis s'entraine avec Felix donc bat tous ceux qui ont la prise porte plume (donc Alexis bat Felix et Dang Qiu) mais est moins fort contre la prise standard. Alors que Felix s'entraine contre Alexis donc bat tous ceux qui ont la prise standard (sauf Alexis et le top 3).

Truls has difficulty with Felix’ playing style that is oriented towards a strong top-spin-backhand counter-game and super intensity and consistence.
Truls is oriented towards his forehand-loop, punch-backhand-counter and improvisation. That does not hold against players like Felix or Drako Jorgic.
I hopa the time soon arrives when Truls has improved his backhand top-spin openings and counterstrikes instead of relying on improvisation against players like Felix.
Only the future will show.

They're both incredibly talented, however Moregard has dropped back and stagnates, while Lebrun gets better every day.

So do I. You just don't measure someones level by "matches facing each other". I am a fan of both of them, Truls just doesn't do well against Felix type of players. That doesn't mean he is dropping back. He had some great matches lately.@@tamasbrenyo1348

Felix is just too good. Never misses any easy points. But Truls is still improving. He crushed and humiliated Alexis a couple of days ago
Everybody is crushing Alexis at this point. But noone can beat his younger brother. (except for the chinese)

This tournament tables type favors certain style of play more as I've seen top players struggling to get basic shots in. Quite unusual.

It was shown due to screaming after Felix had won a tough point by catching a table edge.
It is a doubtful judge decision, as lots of players scream much more during matches and yellow cards are not shown at all.
Moregard needs to sit with his video analyst. Some of the mistakes in his recent matches are avoidable.
At this time, we can safely say, Felix has Moregard numbers. Moregard needs both skills and mental strength to overcome Felix. Interestingly, Moregard handles Felix older brother Alex with ease.

Not Always, it is something like 3 wins out of 5
because truls do not possess the consistency, clean fundamentals, techniques properly. take a look at his backhand topspin, his grip and his elbow. he can't attack continuously without mistakes. his drives, counter topspin, open rallies are below par. he tends to lift his elbow and his recovery is way too slow. he doesn't have the top sets of full attacking playstyle,
so he relies entirely on his bag of tricks, unconventional style, weird backhands, changing pace, occassional chopblocks and his hard to recover forehand.
not to mention his sub par footwork.
