like NHL 14 play-by-play voice from Gary Thorne, almost all players from the CHL and other leagues are voiced, which cannot be said about the next parts of the NHL, so McDavid received voice acting only in NHL 17 from "Doc" Emrick

nhl heights are pretty inaccurate irl aswell. old ass guys can randomly grow few cm some years and anyone coming from europe to nhl gets boosted by like 3-5cm so they hit the 6ft mark for example despite being like fringe 5'11

Absolutely unbelievable how similar NHL 14 is to NHL 23 - that shows you what happens when you have ZERO competition. The animations from goalies after getting scored on, to players celebrations after scoring, movement on the ice and deke animations are damn near identical. It's disgusting.
