Snoop Dogg's performance is simply fantastic!! Wayne Shorter and Chick Corea, RIP legends.
This is the best line up Kennedy honors has ever seen in 9 minutes they completely destroy it it's borderline comical how amazing they all are
Herbie be grooving that night!
This was a great night for jazz.
Therefore a great night for the world.
Yes, and heaven knows jazz DESERVES it!
I was honored to see Herbie in concert a few years ago. He brought the house down. Simply amazing man and talent.
A genius musician
Santana is like a pure bundle of joy and happiness loving all kinds of existing music on earth
A man whose music has been present through all my adult life is honoured by his peers in a most heartfelt way.....
Wayne Shorter, you deserve an honor too, one of the great, I feel so blessed to live in your times.
Finally, he did!
The greatest living indeed...
I have BIG TIME props for all jazz creators, creating such beauty while surviving all the crap they took in the 40's, 50's and 60s.
Chick Correa play for Herbie Hancock.. maestro play for maestro
That was AMAZING
They are great friends.. Saw them play at Avery Fisher Hall years ago.. Piano duets
Yes what chick corea and Herbie Hancock plays only they can play very difficult.
Mmmmm...
@@tarzan2857 yups so truee.. needs another maestro to play herb pieces
we gonna miss you Chick...
Herbie Hancock, the most gifted pianist alive....
Ridiculous! Nothing particularly interesting. Old wine in new bags!
Holy shit this is the cream of the crop when it comes to musicians
Wayne Shorter in a "can do no wrong" moment. He's having a lot of those lately!
Indeed!
Yes!
***** nice to see Return to Forever and Weather Report represented here.
What a line-up. Absolutely amazing. Snoop Dogg should've never stolen the show... but he does!
07:16 "thank you for creatin' HipHop" that sentence goes right into his heart and was more to herbie than all other musicians do on this stage this evening!
I beg to differ. Snoop respects him with words, other musicians respect him with the best of their other talents. Most positive flattery both.
indeed, j dilla made a crazy sample from herbie's album too.
balazs vihari I mean, that is his talent, and he’s damn good at it:)
No.
I think that, if that honour goes to anyone, it should be to Gil Scott Heron.
Hell, yes Herbie had a part to play too. As did Kool Herc.
never seen so much talent on one stage
Now, that's a tribute to an American Treasury to this world. Thanks, Herbie for sharing your great gift with us. 💯🎼🎶
Chick Corea's solo at 1.29, so beautiful!
Herbie is happy like a baby. What an event! Talent is flowing off the stage and drowning the audience...
So proud of our ability to appreciate and acknowledge Masters among us! Thank you President Obama, President Kennedy and our National Leaders in between
Snoop was smooth! lol
Wayne & Chick had a great dialogue goin' during his solo
The level of all the people on the stage ! Wooooooah !
Hall of famers !
Snoop has become such a celebrity, I think people forget what a great rapper he was. Is?
Herbie is a genius. Great tribute!
THIS show should have won an EMMY!!!
It's truly amazing that someone like Herbie who could have easily rested on his laurels and the music he created BEFORE 1980 refused to stay put in a box. He has constantly strived to be relevant and in touch with all genres of music in all different eras. Unlike a lot of his jazz peers who look down on anything that's not jazz.
Herbie Hancock is and will always be my source of inspiration! He is up there with the greatest musicians of all times. And I mean all times....like Bach, Beethoven, Ellington and many more. Thank you Mr. Hancock.
totally agree !
Amen
as in Duke Ellington, I only assume of course; and how about a shout-out to the strong arm of Jazz! I am of course talking about Louis.
I agree with this wholeheartedly
This is some of the coolest fare America has to offer...
Simply 100% AMAZING
Awesome Herbie is a legend and deserves all the recognition he gets. My favorite Keyboard player he's on the music Mount Rushmore in my book.
Thank you HH for showing us the way. 70 years of creation and 117 albums.....
Me watching this vid:
Is that Wayne Shorter?
Is that Chick Corea?!
Is that Joshua Redman?!?
Is that Billy Joel??!!??
Enjoy :))

Herbie always show the brightest smile everytime he shows up at KCH when others is honored. Now this is his time, truly deserved.
Some legends on stage there at the beginning of this vid no longer with us....🥲
Three of my favorite drummers on the stage at the same time.
one should never forget the arts!!!!! it will always be ones downfall when self expression, enjoyed by the masses, is stifled. people love to groove, fool!
5:54 Obama is really digging Snoop!
This show was great and outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Herbie deserved this award!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ohh my... the real jam session :D
Every single one are a genius on his instrument!
Totally dude, the woman on the drums is especially really good
+etienne duval Included the DJ
Terry Lynn Carrington... She was the drummer in Arsenio's house band when his shows first aired...
Off Course!
Love this music
I'm not a jazz lover, but this event was FKIN AMAZING !!!
Same feeling here!
Glad you like it, just keep on discovering, jazz can be very free and uplifting!
it's never to late to become one.. it's a safe religion..lol.
Jazz is the greatest genre of all times
, it created most other genres.
Trust that you are a jazz lover, you just don't know it yet. Just give it some time and do a quite listening to your heartbeat ... some day you'll realize all sound has been jazz all along ..
and Marcus Miller.. wowow
Three individualists on drums!
Herbie Hancock is 73 years young!
What a lineup!!!
I bet, with 3 musicians out of 5 honorees, this was one of the most amazing Kennedy Center Honors nights ever!
Vinnie!!!!!
awesome to see that Wayne still makes Herbie make THAT face!!!!!!
Yeah, I saw that jazz face!
Saw herbie Hancock in Dublin 2008 and it was a honour
What a proud moment to see legend Brother Herbie. You have moved so many people with your gift me included.
TERENCE BLANCHARD!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
first time ever I see Chick Corea with a suit & tie
pure jazz...amazing, beautiful, divine
Look at that old Fender Rhodes barely holdin' together!!!
thanks for posting!! love Hancock
Miss you Chick..
What a tribute band! Every one of them deserves a tribute too! Obama is the coolest prez ever!
Wayne,Wayne,Wayne report!
This is such a treasure! too precious to drop by here too many times, so worrying about dilution of the first shock
like wine, goes more mature with time. Keep watching, won't have such luck until Trump time is over.
Killer! Cover of Walkin'. What a band.................... Thanks
Guess the tuxedo crowd could only take about 4 minutes of actual jazz. Nevertheless great to see Herbie so honored. Who doesn't ❤️ Herbie?
thanks god you mooved on! plase just be super happy!
Simply the best...
muito obrigado! Eu devo ouça novamente.
How killin' is this!? I never thought that I would see Kurt Rosenwinkel, Aaron Parks and Joshua Redman soloing on Watermelon Man...
Not to mention Wayne's killin' solo and the fact that Vinnie and Marcus Miller are playing on Flip Fantasia.
snoop dogg is pretty killin' too imo
He is, but I really hate finding out that I posted all these whack comments on a bunch of videos lmao
the start was so acid it melted my computer screen
Snoop is high af on that stage lmao
LOL!!🤣🤣
Hancock INMENSO!
awesome....
Thank you! That's what i thought but he looked different to me for some reason. What a great performance.
Great !!!
this is great
AHH how the F*** did I miss this?!? What a who's who personnel...Snoop is awesome he put parts of 'Gin & Juice' in the middle of 'Cantaloop'. Kurt Rosenwinkel digs The Notorious B.I.G, Q-Tip and many others. I say missing from the roster was Robert Glasper - and no dis To Aaron Parks, he's a great pianist too.
Herbie love so
1:09, EPIC! FLOTUS & POTUS were Feeling it!
와우 너무 좋아요~~^^
When the best of America honors the greats of America
It was killer .........
So crazy!,,,,,,,,
Love jazz👍🏿👍🏿💋💋💋
lol great solo Aaron
MIX MASTER MIKE!
Rest in peace Mr. Shorter!
Fajna muza i super Prezydent 👍🏻👍🏻👏👏💥😻🥰😚🥳🤗😸😺
gold
my man w/ the clarinet in the beginning was astonishing. he was off beat but so on beat lol. literally what the concept of abstract must sound like
Wassgood Gurl He was playing a Soprano Saxophone in the beginning, not a clarinet. And Wayne Shorter is known for a very "out there" style, it's his essential style, as every jazz musician has one. :) He's very talented on soprano, soprano is one of my instruments, and it's not easy to play by any means.
thanks for the insight (:
Yeah!
having Mikhail Baryshnekov smile at the end was awesome...
snoop is jazz love it
RIP Chick
Snoop best performance with the others maestros!
Bill O'Reilly shaking hands with Snoop was surreal.
god bless america
La creme de la creme
it's great!!!
Snoop - you are amazing.
@elf ah shit, you're right. How could of half a beat like. CRAZY!
