I remember segregation in Warrenton. Stepping off sidewalks for white folks, sitting in balcony to see a movie, waiting in Dr. Hunter’s office only to be seen after the last white patients was seen. Being from Philadelphia, PA it was always so strange to me. So many black folks had to leave to survive. I did have many great memories on my grandparents farm. I can trace my family back to the early 1800’s. Thank God for so called “Northern Aggression “👍🏼

The old photo of the Jacob Holt house shown at 5:00 makes it obvious that it was based on a house that appeared in Andrew Jackson Downing's 1840s book "Cottage Residences". Downing called it a "Cottage in the Italian or Tuscan style".
