One big deal about Raleigh is proximity to RDU airport. Usually inside 20 minutes. Also healthcare access is outstandingâŠUNC, Duke and WakeMed. Great video!
Yes exactly!
really accurate description of the various areas of Raleigh. Very nicely done!
Great video, some very helpful information! Can't wait to come see Raleigh in a few months!
Thank you!
I have always enjoyed traveling to Raleigh from ENC to shop and eat. My brother just bought a home in Laurel Hills, so I imagine I will be visiting the Raleigh area a lot more now!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing
Amazing video so nice love the detail and mop showcasing the area.
Thank you!
Knightdale is the best suburb, i can say, you cant beat it
Amazing content and amazing edit
Thank you!
Very helpful video thank you.
Thank you, glad it was helpful!
Lifetime Raleigh is a fantastic gym! I teach Hip Hop Cardio class there on Friday nights đșđœ
Yes it is!
Very detailed information in this video. I'm from the East Coast, NYC, but have been out West for over 40 years after retiring from the Military. I was considering moving back east to be close to family scattered from Connecticut to Atlanta and was considering N,C where my father family descended from in Bertie, but this video got me rethinking do I really want to head back east to have to deal with it all over again. Most likely not
Where is the green tie! Thank you for the great content!
We rebranded last year to gold, so we are still unsure whether to go with green or gold! Thank you
I miss Raleigh so much! Itâs interesting to see all the changes. I was like âWhat is Midtown?â Lol⊠You forgot to mention the Indian restaurants also in Raleigh. My favorite is Taj Mahal at Terry Moore Square on Capitol Blvd. Raleigh!!! I love you!!!!
We love Curry House and Lazeez just over the border into Wake Forest. Havenât tried Taj Mahal yet. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the videos. Could you make a video about retirement in Raleigh and RTP, hospitals, golf courses,if work, nightlife and school are not most important factors?
Great idea!
I see you saved the best area for last Wasup âïž it's me đ again northwest Raleigh still rocks â€ïž
Northwest Raleigh is great and so close to everything
Also it is important to know if it is safe or not.
The cost of rent here has increased by 20% and It isn't dropping any time soon. I'm paying almost 1400 for a studio in North Hills. Last year it was 1100. Move to Charlotte.
Agree rents arenât likely to come down especially with 25% of pre approved home buyers now forced to rent due to interest rates
đ
This is one of your best videos Iâve ever seen! I need that angus barn gift card!!! đ
Thank you!
I'd love to hear more about the complex coming to sw raleigh.
There aren't a lot of details yet. They are still working thru a lot of approval process. We will definitely have an update when we know more!
@@LivinginRaleighTV I can't wait. I bought a home there a few years ago and love the Costco and shops coming in as well as 540. I am even more excited to be there now
@@knockdowndragonfight We think this area has a lot of potential for growth. While North Raleigh is mostly built out. South Raleigh has a lot of future potential for development.
Knightdale is most underrated
Now I need to go try that Angus Barn burger. đ€€
Itâs amazing!
Overrated
Most of the golfing you mention is private and requires membership$$$. Good video !!!
I was there 30 years ago đ
Far too expensive! 2 bedroom apartments are renting upwards of 3k plus. In an area that one needs to be reliant on a personal vehicle, rents should never be that high. In places like NYC, Boston, DC etc where train systems are in place, residents can easily survive without a vehicle.
Rents have gone up quickly along with housing prices in the past couple years
@@LivinginRaleighTV It appears home prices may soon fall. The economy is horrible and interest rates are quickly raising which usually affects home prices. The Federal Reserve will be meeting again in September and it doesn't look good.
Unfortunately most public transportation outside of the northern east coast major cities is really bad. Typically Americans donât address it until theyâve seen better city designs in other parts of the world
You never mention public translortation. I no longer drive, but I can get anywhere I need to using the buses. Plus, because of my age (80) I ride for free. Plus. I live right across the street from the goraleigh central terminal, so that makes using the buses even more convenient.
Sadly, public transportation is lacking in Raleigh. We do have a bus system. The closer you live to Downtown Raleigh/Midtown Raleigh, generally the better options for bus routes. There are also options to live close to grocery stores, etc without needing the bus as often such as Village District and North Hills. Hope that helps!
Okay, so you totally looked over Southeast Raleigh, can you please give us some information on this area and upcoming constructions, thanks đ€
There isnât really a SE Raleigh so itâs usually just considered South Raleigh or East Raleigh. If you look at a map of Raleigh, that area SouthEast of Raleigh is very patchy, with Garner taking up the majority of the area. Itâs going to be very similar to Garner and South/East Raleigh in price.
The black area red lining!
I live in and work in N.E. Raleigh and I love it. Affordable and convenient.
Thanks for sharing!
A lot of these west Raleigh places could also easily be considered downtown. For instance, one can easily walk from some downtown locations to places like The Village District, and even parts of NC State.
My favorite thing to do in South Raleigh is visit the Howling Cow creamery at NC State's dairy education center for fresh ice cream that can be eaten on the porch of the creamery while viewing the cows that provided the milk/cream for it.
Exactly. There isn't really a perfect place to draw the line since everything is so dense in that area.
Weâve had Howling Cow at the State Fair many times, but didnât know where the physical location was at NCSU. Thanks for sharing
@@LivinginRaleighTV you can buy hand dipped howling cow in the student center convenience store and you can go out to the "farm" creamery. It's literally across the street from Yates Mill Park. There you can buy hand dipped or freshly packed pints. Out back there's a covered porch where you can sit on a rocking chair and watch the cows. Or, you can just walk across a short field and get up close and more personal with them. It's a nice outing.
@@jlpack62 PLEASE donât tell me this. Iâm doing keto right now and you are stabbing me in the heart with this amazing story youâre telling.
@@jlpack62 Good to know! Thanks
Hey man! Im a raleigh native and i appreciate you putting this stuff out! Let everyone know how good it is out here
One day(if I dont beat you to it haha!) make a video about how "Raleigh" isnt really raleigh, its RTP, and how everything from Durham down to apex and Cary then east to garner and north to Wake Forest make one big "box" on the map that are all essentially part of our big city!!!
Its a really important dynamic that i know I would wanna know back when i was moving here two years ago!
Thanks for the comment! We have actually explained that in several past videos. We need to do it again soon!
Can you share waterfront communities for people who are looking to explore living on water near triangle area
Great idea. We will figure out how to incorporate that into a video. Feel free to email us at hello@mortonbradbury.com if you need help finding a home on the water. There are quite a few in North Raleigh and Cary
Hi why do the lakes look so dirty? Iâm assuming you canât go in the lakes?
how is the village district west raleigh when its 1 mile from glenwood south?
Because it's 0.3 miles and about a 5 minute walk to NCSU campus, which is the heart of West Raleigh. However, Village District is amazing because it's easily accessible to West Raleigh, Downtown Raleigh, and Midtown Raleigh.
The "BEST" area to live in Raleigh ... is "ANYWHERE NOT IN RALEIGH"!!!! In the 80s/90s it was Cary, now it's probably more like Garner.
Raleigh is pretty big and has a lot of different areas. South of Raleigh is very similar to Raleigh since it all runs together.
CLAYTON = Cary Like Area Yankees Trying Out Now đ€Ł
Is it just me or are these prices ridiculously high
Itâs not just you. These prices have gone up about 50% in the past couple years
@Liz 47% increase in homes in just 2 years
I'm surprised you didn't include Chapel Hill.
Chapel Hill is not in Raleigh
This video is specifically about all the sections within the city of Raleigh. We have a lot of other videos talking about the surrounding cities and suburbs if you want to check those out!
Those condos are one bedroom
Which condos?
North hills is the best
100%
Is Zebulon safe ?
Based on stats on niche.com it seems pretty average. www.niche.com/places-to-live/zebulon-wake-nc/crime-safety/
What about the gun shops? Shooting ranges? Gun clubs?
Who in the HELL can afford to live there? Housing prices are beyond ridiculous.
eh, housing prices have gone insane everywhere. If you want to live in a city with decent opportunity in specific industries (like Biotech in the triangle) then you arent going to get away from high housing costs. It sucks, but it is what it is.
A lot of people moving here from high cost of living states
Problem with living in downtown Raleigh, lots of derelicts roaming around
The WRAL Soccer Park was unfortunately not mentioned.
There is no Midtown it is called North Hills. Just the developers call it Midtown. I have lived there all my life and it has been called North Hills. There use to be an indoor mall like Crabtree it was called North Hills. It was where Target, JCPenny, the theater. Next video call it north hills!
This is wrong. North Hills is called North Hills. Midtown is called Midtown and includes areas beyond North Hills like the Trader Joeâs/Wegmanâs area.
@@LivinginRaleighTV there are stores near north hills, Harris teeter and those new skyscrapers called Midtown. I have talked to a girl who was new to the city. She did not hear of North Hills. I told her people are starting to call it Midtown around since 2004. She said she heard of Midtown, but not heard of North Hills.
I need to visit and check it out! (And NO im not a liberal- thank you)
Thatâs a rarity to hear from a. Non-.liberal. Most of the area is very liberal and non-religious which is a terrible thing
Raleigh should build a minor league baseball stadium downtown and the Carolina Mudcats should move there. Iâve wanted that to happen for years.
What area is more conservative and Christian!
Pretty good job as a general overview, but how could anyone describe the best places to live in Raleigh without even mentioning Oakwood, Mordecai, or Boylan Heights - the three best places to live in the entire city????
I've lived here for sixty years, so I do know.
However, ending with the Angus Barn was definitely spot on!
This is a general overview. It is already a pretty long video without going into detail about each neighborhood. We have an entire video about Oakwood, Mordecai, and Boylan Heights here: czcams.com/video/3trCHgxsgJk/video.html Thanks for watching!
Thanks I'll watch it...
Fyi if a video about living in a city is on CZcams. Its already to expensive to live in that area. $935k G.T.F.O.H, $500K for a Condo G.T.F.O.H đđ and there's NO MAJOR TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM đ€Šđżââïž
Just say "NO' to Raleigh.
Why?
Wow I noticed how nervous he got when talking about the predominantly Black parts of town "low and medium income" sounds like that old red lining to me. When they are done driving black people out of their own historic neighborhoods for gentrification....what then will they do if you work a regular job for example a teacher, cop ect . Your going to see tents and RVs popping up just like California so sad.
(QUESTION)- what part of Raleigh is best for someone who relies on taking public transportation (buses)?. Where do most of our black people live in Raleigh?. Where are most of the apartment complexes at?.
One big deal about Raleigh is proximity to RDU airport. Usually inside 20 minutes. Also healthcare access is outstandingâŠUNC, Duke and WakeMed. Great video!
Yes 100%! Thank you
