I'm glad that LaLaurie was not redeemed, because someone that cruel and sadistic shouldn't get a second chance, she did so much evil things to people, so Queenie could do what was right.
LaLaurie was a racist, sadistic, even psychopathic killer, but she made some relevant points in the end. Lots of people aren't sorry for what they do, they're sorry because people find out or they get caught, and even when they say the words deep down we know most people don't mean. But LaLaurie, she was honest about it, she wasn't repentant and saw no point in pretending to be. What does it tell you when the worst of humanity are more honest than everyone else?
Well I thank you sincerely for the compliment. I only wish my real vocalizations were as eloquent. Best wishes to you and hoping for the best for your 2017.
Queenie has such a big heart. Even though she knew what Delphine has done to black people, she even offers her 1 last chance to redeem herself. But at some point, even Queenie has reached her limit. Queenie
@@TTUploads Agreed. Delphine was making real progress and seeing the error of her ways before Queenie betrayed her. In Delphine's mind, Queenie's actions just reinforced everything she believed about colored people.
Ummmm when I'm sorry I'm beyond sorry, yes repentance is relevant and real or else even your A would not be fit for redemption, ya'll need to stop with this grouping the entire society into one.
@Dawn Matthews don't take it that i truly mean everyone. I mean the mass majority. There are some of us that still repent BUT, the politicians only repent verbally since they were caught but don't actually mean it!
Delphine was right though. Anyone who has ever made a public apology didn't mean it at all. They were only sorry for getting caught. It's amazing how a fake apology can easily fool people into thinking you're truly sorry
She was evil to the core but she did make a lot of true points. Some people just aren't really sorry for the terrible things they do. They pander to people and apologise because it makes them look good and repentant which they aren't really. LaLaurie stayed honest till the end and never pretended like other people. Regardless, she got what she deserved. Special place in Hell for monsters like her.
Sadly, in real life she never got her just due. Sure, they burned her house and ran her out of town, but she just moved to Paris where she had another house and tons of money.
Being sorry for the consequences is a natural thing for thousands of years. That's how religion works. Christians, Muslims, etc aren't sorry for the sins they committed. They're afraid of the punishment.
The fact that LaLaurie conflates Queenie's suggestion of volunteering her time to help the descendants of those she brutalized with hollow apologies on tv demonstrates how disingenuous she is. I think it shows she is beyond saving.
Well yeah that was her whole point. She's not sorry. She doesn't regret her actions. By volunteering she would be a hypocrite. She was truly an unapologetic monster to the end
I love Queenie. LaLaurie was unredeemable but Queenie tried as much as she could. One of my favorite characters on the show and Sidibe plays her very well. I’ve never seen Sidibe in anything else but would like to if accessible here (UK). Edit Kathy Bates played LaLaurie well too but it must have took a lot out on her to play someone so horrible. Edit: Anyone else notice LaLaurie’s hair is brown but I’m sure they use Bates’s real hair here which is quite grey. 😄
I love this women! She did a good job playing in Misery. And Queenie, I cry in her movie Precious. I think her character as Queenie the big black girl with good hair and a badass attitude.
The most satisfying death aside from Dandy Mott's in my opinion. LaLaurie, like Mott, was beyond redemption. At least she could admit she wouldnt change; something Mott could never do. Brilliant writing, and brilliant acting.
Delphine was speaking facts though, and one thing I took away from the whole situation with Delphine, is that you can't change who you are. And as far as the whole season, what I took away in the end is that we all have to answer for our wrong doings.
Often true, but what folks don't realize is that who you are isn't just what you say, do or appear as. It goes down into your core as a person and how you make your decisions.
And that is PRECISELY why I don't believe people change. If they do, it's RARE. It's just the way it is. I take people at 100% face value, and it's going to take a heck of a lot more than an "I'm sorry" or even a so-called "redemption arc" for me to believe it.
Well... I'll give her this: LaLaurie was honest to the end. Queenie wanted to offer her redemption and repentance and LaLaurie told her that was never going to happen. She wasn't sorry, she would never be sorry and the only thing she'd appologize to Queenie for was the fact that she wasted Queenies time trying to 'rehabilitate her'
