I get what you're saying and could totally see it, but I feel like Basil is apologizing to Sunny the whole game because he's so desperate to stay friends with Sunny. He says in one of those little animated cutscenes that everything will be okay because they'll always be together. And then Sunny literally shuts him out entirely and he's left to wonder why. I don't even think Basil entirely knows what he's apologizing for either. It's about Mari of course, but it could be less about a specific incident and more about trying to reconnect with his best friend. Basil misses Sunny :(
@@mxn3320 no problem, but it's not really a correction. The specifics of that incident are blurred on purpose, so either theory of ours could be correct! I just wanted to share my thoughts as well :D
Oh god even I feel guilty just watching this please I can't! Now I understand more why Sunny wanted to kill himsefl. It's just aaaa it's hurts to watch!
Aubrey: "Basil had the photos blacked out with marker!!! Even Mari's face!!!" First time seeing it without looking at a Let's Play: But why would he do that? Second time (After seeing a Let's Play): Gee, wonder why he'd do *_THAT_** ...* (WARNING HIGH AMOUNTS of sarcasm.)
They're prob be furious or sad. Not because of the fact that he killed Mari but because of the fact that Sunny and Basil kept quiet and made their friends suffer for so long
But after all, its not easy to take in information that your friend accidentally killed your another friend and faked it as suicide while keeping quiet about it for so long. They probably have to take like weeks to take in the information and understanding it until they come terms with Sunny and Basil and forgive them
Sunny was the one who scribbled out the photos with black marker (in an attempt to suppress his guilt and painful memories), but Basil took the blame for him. So Aubrey, thinking Basil had disrespected and destroyed all their memories together, began to bully him and treat him with contempt. Sunny hears this all from Aubrey, and realizes that Basil took the fall for him about the photos, so he backs up in guilt.
I have a friend who is super passive exactly like Sunny.. He won't clear up misunderstandings, let others take the blame and let conflicts escalate instead of intervening even if it was his fault to begin with. I never understood that and don't think I ever will
That’s the point of Omori, to be a RPG that gets sad. It’s not a “novel game”. If you don’t like sad stuff like that in games than Omori ain’t the type of game for you. Didn’t you notice the disclaimer at the start of the game saying that this game gets depressing?
The fact why basil blacked out Mari's face was because she was too kind to be dead. And she blacked out the photos because it was so old and everything changed so fast when Mari died. Basil is a good person. So don't say he is a bad person!
Aubrey: ...im such an idiot, *starts crying and knees down * Sunny: *backs * i do something much worst, Aubrey Kel, Hero, Aubrey: what Also Kel: whoa sunny talks
Honestly, I feel very little sympathy for Aubrey in this scene. Sure, she was 12 years old when Maru died, of course she's going to react negatively to the photos being blacked out. But she chose to keep going at it for four years, until she was 16, old enough to know better and that something was up with Basil, yet still chose to bully him on a daily basis and even rallied an entire group to bully him with her. And what does she do after this scene that was supposed to open her eyes? She still continues to be standoffish with all the other friends, including Basil, who she never actually expresses her remorse to. At least not until the bad end, where it's not only too late, but she only does so because she feels directly responsible for Basil's death. Aubrey is a selfish hypocrite.
The f*ck are you talking about? First of all, Aubrey didn't have a clue what was going on with Basil because he and Sunny became too distant from her after Mari's death (she litterally tells us as much), and the only reason she called Basil names for so long was because he never made ANY attempt to explain the situation. From her perspective, he defaced Mari's memory (and all the good years they spent together), and he purposefully allowed her to continue thinking this for all of those years. The moment between the two at the lake confirms this. And instead of having any modicum of integrity and telling Aubrey what actually happened to the photos, all Basil did was constantly approach her to ask for something she didn't have _any_ reason to trust him with. And THEN he pointed Kel at her and made it seem like she took the photo album and bullied him for no reason. If Basil had just told him about the blacked out photos from the start, Kel wouldn't have been so needlessly antagonizing and self righteous when dealing with Aubrey (which would've avoided almost ALL of their fights). You can fault Aubrey for stealing all you want (despite the justifiable misunderstanding), but how in the world was anything supposed to change if neither side was willing to give? Aubrey had no reason to view Basil any differently, and Basil refused to tell her truth. Secondly, Aubrey didn't rally her friends to do shit. They formed a distate for Basil on their own (mainly because they were supporting Aubrey, and her hurtful words toward him led her friends to assume he had wronged her in the past, even if they didn't know how). She _did_ turn a blind eye to how they also treated him poorly, which is obviously still wrong, but nothing in any of the dialogue indicates she intended for them to act this way (her monologue IN THIS SCENE actually implies the opposite, that it just happened on its own overtime). Finally, I really don't understand where you're last point is even coming from? How was Aubrey standoff-ish after this scene? Once they go to Basil's house and find he's still at the hospital, she literally spends the ENTIRE day hanging out with Kel, Hero, and Sunny (visiting Mari's grave together, apologizing to Sunny on the swings, going to the tree house, going to a party, etc.). And then once they all get to Basil's room, she explicitly apologizes to him, and beggs him to open the door. You'd have to be *willfully ignorant* to claim she wasn't remorseful after she literally locked herself in her room because of what happened to Basil at the lake (she even apologizes to Kel and Hero for it too, even though it was obviously a mistake). You're entitled to your opinion, but so much of this is just false. It's insane how much dialogue you chose to ignore.

Basil misses Sunny :(
@@rainebow_kitty6142 sorry this is an old comment, thanks for correcting me tho!
@@mxn3320 no problem, but it's not really a correction. The specifics of that incident are blurred on purpose, so either theory of ours could be correct! I just wanted to share my thoughts as well :D

Kel : blupblupblupblupblupblupblup*
Remember, they’re still children.
There are not happy endings in this story if you got the normal and then they will find out that Sunny was the one that killed Mary
Sounds like a happy ending to me since Sunny and Basil has finally tells them the truth and there's no more messed up thing to hide.
@@sadguy3037 yes, and maybe police will know too... and probably they will have a lot of issues forgiving sunny and basil
@@rsg5314 The secret end sort of indicates that things will be okay after all
They're prob be furious or sad. Not because of the fact that he killed Mari but because of the fact that Sunny and Basil kept quiet and made their friends suffer for so long
But after all, its not easy to take in information that your friend accidentally killed your another friend and faked it as suicide while keeping quiet about it for so long. They probably have to take like weeks to take in the information and understanding it until they come terms with Sunny and Basil and forgive them
This scene made me cry like a little bitch
Sunny: *Backs up*
Ya know why?
Something next to Aubrey:
You feel regret now :)?
Of course Sunny was the one who blacked out the photos so it's pretty much why he took a step back.
Why do I feel so much like I'm sunny tho...
I read this once in another omori video so i'm going to Say it
the end is in you if you forgive sunny or not
Kel and Hero: walks closer to Aubrey
Sunny :Back off i got a knife
say what yall wanna say, ik sunny aint blameless, but HE AND EVERYONE ELSE DESERVE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE CRAP THEY GOT-
Sunny backed away because he prolly felt awkward when hugging aubrey considering his dreams and stuff
Have you finished the game already?
Does anyone know why Sunny just stepped back?
I didn’t get to finish the game since my Laptops on repair.
@@DLxxx Woah, Poor basil.
Aubrey Apology Vdieo???????????????????? (Not Clickbait)
I have a friend who is super passive exactly like Sunny.. He won't clear up misunderstandings, let others take the blame and let conflicts escalate instead of intervening even if it was his fault to begin with. I never understood that and don't think I ever will
I used to hate omori thinking ise as a boring novel depressing game….
I still hate it but i ADORE Aubrey
I hate everyone else
That’s the point of Omori, to be a RPG that gets sad. It’s not a “novel game”. If you don’t like sad stuff like that in games than Omori ain’t the type of game for you. Didn’t you notice the disclaimer at the start of the game saying that this game gets depressing?
??
The fact why basil blacked out Mari's face was because she was too kind to be dead. And she blacked out the photos because it was so old and everything changed so fast when Mari died. Basil is a good person. So don't say he is a bad person!
Have you finished the game already?
i dont remember doing this comment and no i dont even have the game

We is she saying sorry now next time just say sorry before hand
Why did she put a pinwheel over the stump where it happend?
she happened to have a pinwheel and nothing else other than her bat
Well duh, this is the scene where Aubrey realized that she’d been acting like a terrible person. Did you completely miss the point of this scene?
bruh.
