    i wish your camera angle was a bit wider. the reason: i need to see if there is a power indicator light on the side of your kobo sage. my newly arrived sage's light doesn't seem to go on when it is charging.

    I simply use an external power pack with the USB-C cable if needed (often with me for my iPhone anyway). No need for this power cover. I generally get 15-20 hours without recharge while reading with some note taking anyway. More than sufficient for me.

    I like this as a desk dock/travel cover. You take it out to read when you want something light, and pop it back in to charge or write on a desk, where the weight is not important. It makes the whole package (Sage + pen + cover) too expensive though compared to similar devices like a Mobiscribe Origin, which comes with the pen.

    I sooo wanted to like this thing.
    The Sage alone, after a few charge cycles settled down and has daily decent life.
    Using the note taking, it does get dead quick, but just as a jot list and note taking in a read it is fine.
    Enter the power cover. It is very well made, but it is very heavy and makes the reader bulky. I wound up using it almost as a dock to hold the pen and power up.
    Also there is no access to the power button except to take it off the ereader. This may not seem like a big deal, but if you are tryouts by to conserve battery power it can only sleep not power off.
    If you go away for a weekend and forget the charger, and you are a reader like me, it will not make it to Monday.
    I love the design.
    I love the note taking, but the power is so shaky that I use my Clara HD if power is an issue

      So used only as a e-book reader will not last not even a week?

  •  Před 2 lety

    My powercover drains so fast without using it. It is 3 day from 100% to 0% just connected to Sage with minimal use. I am not sure is it due to Sage draining it or it is an issue with powercover itself.

    • @heidis2330

      15 minutes of reading and i get a 5-10% power loss but at least it charges really fast ( device)

      The power cover including the pen is my worst purchase power cover overall drains too fast and the pen half of the time not working. 😒👎

    What a rip off! We don't get this cover in the UK. It says you need a 5v charger but don't sell one for UK electric supply! I am sending mine back to store. £20 for the bloody cover!

  • @anapatriciafloresangeles1786

    And that is why, ladies and germs, you should better get an Onyx product ;)

    Super regret to buy Kobo Saga! Screen quality and battery life are both disappointing. The size and weight are not very good on hands. It is overrated, and Kobo's aftersale service is slow and not customer-centric. Kobo Saga definitely discouraged me to buy any Kobo e-readers in the future. High price but low value for the money paid.

    What a clown show. Bring out a new ereader then...oops...poor battery life which they somehow didn't catch. Now dear reader pay $ for a power cover because of their mistake. 🤦

    I know I'm in minority but this receives a hard pass from me; I wear watches and don't want them this close to any magnets.
    Also, no love for lefties.

    • @sergeboivin566
      @sergeboivin566 Před 2 lety

      Why no love for lefties? It's one of the things I think Kobo has always paid better attention to for years. As is, the pen slot is on the left, which is perfect for me (a lefty). If you want, you can flip the Sage's orientation 180 degrees and use the cover with the spine on the right, opening "left to right". I have a Mobiscribe Origin e-note device and that's how I installed my cover and it works great.

    • @goemboeck
      @goemboeck Před 2 lety

      @@sergeboivin566 Ah great, thanks for the clarification. I thought that it would not work when screen's flipped, or it would be some half-assed implementation of turning everything upside down.
      That was my main grief about it, there's so little information about left-hand usage online that I was thinking they wanted to be quiet about it.
      Kobo's my go-to brand in ereaders and Sage got my attention for its note-taking capabilities.
