Yes, no crew skills to start with. Limit of like 5 or something gold, 1 equipment, and basic repair, med, fire.

I have not played my EU account in a long time so I logged in a couple days ago to get the free commander by playing one game. I accidentally picked a tank that I'd never played, it had a 100% crew but no skills, no equipment, no consumables, no gold. Came in second at the end of the game. Also accidentally played a game in the T-62 once that did have a crew with some skills but none of them were trained for that tank(some not even for meds), no equipment, no consumables, no gold. Ended up coming in top in damage, by a long shot, on Himmels. Just shows that while skills and equipment, etc. certainly help, doing well in this game mostly comes down to how well the player plays the tank.
I think it's a bit cheating when taking the leopard 1, that tank already has speed, mobility, accuracy, aiming and so on.
There are many tanks that you will feel a faster hull traverse or better terrain resistances from crewskills.

I got a T21 with 2 out of 4 crew skills choosen , I got full camo, full bia nothing else. Its on the top 0.06% on server, it doesn't make as much difference as we think. Equipment tho I think is essential as an LT player.

I’ve played 10 years.. green 7500 rating. My account has been added to the trash pool by WG. I play tier 10 heavies and sometimes I cannot pen a tier 8 medium front plate fully aimed, they pen me easy. The game has little to do with crew skills equipment etc, WG has it almost decided the outcome before the start. After 10 years service and thousands spent I’m on the verge of quitting. Loads of people are saying it’s fake games, 15-3 losses. The only hope is like You, Daki, Skill and Quacky raise this as a top priority! At the moment normal players are playing against WG super bots that never miss. It appears that there are on average 3 humans and 12 bots per side. WG sort this shit if you want your income stream to survive, it’s either what I said or there is serious cheating.. New players be warned. Thanks

Repair and camo (on some tanks) are incredibly useful crew skills though, but Leo is actually pretty good out of the box

Crew skills and equipment have never really mattered much, its a very small bonus afterall... im guessing DPG and stuff like that would go up maybe 10-15% from no equipment to full equipment and crew skills, repairs and sixth sense basically all you need, rest is fluff... consumables are a BIG bonus, and without them, then yeah big problems, no repair or medkit vs arty lol, have fun.
10-15% is definitely way too little.
Try 705A without crew and equipment :D better with standard ammo

Why would he, playing with crew on 50% is torturing not challenging, its not entertaining either for player or for vieweres. Playing with premium ammo is a must nowadays, not full gold spam, but if you dont load gold round you are literally throwing the game and you stop your dpm if you face annoying enemy.

The average player benefits far more from this than the Top500 players .
A Leopard 1 match with 2k dmg is from your perspective a bad game...for most of the players it´s their peak skill.

Ok, great video but, I don't get the point of it for the average wot player. What are you actually suggesting ? That we play without equipment and crew skills? I am sure that for someone who is a professional wot player/ CZcams content creator fighting without equipment and with just one crew skill is exciting. But why is that useful to us?

No dude, you just making content, we understand that, but you need to start with crew on 25%, you still getting benifits from 100% trained crew, also if it does not work, why did you bother using stabilizer..
No consumables, just repair and medic kit, stock on all aspects..
You also need to take some other tanks..
