As much as I would love this to be Ferguson, I seriously don't think it is. Vera pissed off a few people in Wentworth and I think it could be either the Screw she blamed for letting out Bea and sacked or the Nurse Jake was seeing or even Jake himself getting someone to do it for him to win Vera back. Either way, its definitely not the freak. Joan is far too clever for that and also she wouldn't want to get caught out or let anyone know that she is alive so easy. Don't get me wrong, she might still be alive but i don't think we will be seeing her anytime soon.

So this is one of my FAVORITE shows but it's so painful because this season is literally too much dragging things along, or not putting in enough. Like Sonia was getting SO interesting then poof, goodbye. I could care less about the Mary plot even though it was set up really well but c'mon Bea was the OG "I must avenge my child" character the only thing that makes it a little interesting is that Ruby's a part of it and I think her and Allie's relationship was paced well but that's about it 🤷
I like Kaz's new edge though!
This better not be some mislead. You can't threaten with Joan and then not deliver. She's one of the most sinister, terrifying characters on TV, and they just can't follow her with any other villain and have it work. Also, I refuse to accept Joan Ferguson's death until I SEE her killed...by VERA. No one else deserves it.
The show has gotten boring this season. The new characters don't live up to past cast members who are gone. But if they dig up the box and see Ferguson is gone, damn. That would be an interesting twist, but enough to save the show? Despite all of this, it's still better than most American dramas.

Joan's ending was perfect so if they do bring her back (which is likely going to happen due to sonia's "early" death) it will be showing a very weak plot .
The whole ruby and rita thing is the worst thing that has happened on this show either one of them dies this season or both in the next because they're the reason of the show's slow movment , and i'd like marie to kill ruby after she finds out about her and then rita dies from trying to avenge her , because in my opinion this is the only way to make the show perfect again like the last 5 seasons .

Is it Joan though? She could've died and someone else has decided to pretend to be her? Weird plot but makes some sense. Or Joan used the scissors to cut through the box and then dug her way out?
Josh Someone would have to know Joan down to the bone to even pull off being her and even that's a reach because there are always differences. I never believe a thing I read or even think until I see the body or empty grave. Even if she did make it out of the grave, then how the hell did she pull it off? She would have been on the lamb for months and she has a very recognizable face and demeanor. If she got out, the grave couldn't have been that deep.
There's got to be an explanation for all of it. I can't wait to hear it.
Wentworth should have slowed it's roll with the entire show after season 3-4. This show will not catch on. Not when writer's "use" fans as disposable "currency". As bad as idiot trump over in the states.
The show has lost it's momentum seasons ago. I won't be recommending it to anyone, that's for sure.

i have a wierd theory that it may be Shane Butler. i wondered what happened to him after hearing the news of Ferguson's escape? and whether if he is still staying at Auntie Joan's house. the police must have checked the house but he probably still has access to the place, and so the gloves.
and on the off chance, he could have still followed Will around outside of prison and saw Will digging at the site. and if he did dig up the box after Will left, then Joan might have been the mastermind behind Shane's actions, all these prank calls, stealing Vera's crown epaulettes, stalking Vera's house and leaving muddy prints, the magpie. all this to force Vera to confront Will and Jake about the secret, and to force Vera to take a side, go to the police or be dragged down together with Will and Jake. i doubt Joan would show herself just to be caught again (if she ever managed to escape the box).
(spoilers ahead) Jake was the one that told Joan about the 'escape' plan right? since she could not see Will she will likely be targeting Jake, and like you said Vera is an easier/weaker target. i really don't want to see Jake taking the fall for the 3 conspirators, and then gets to redeem himself and be with Vera. i mean, no one likes Jake the Snake, i would rather Joan gets a redemption arc than Jake at this point! do you think Joan has capacity for change in her character? since she never expected that Vera would save her from the lynch hanging, i don't think she would harm Vera.
yes Joan is a villain (s2/s3 Joan was much more nuanced and complex imo, so much that S5's Joan felt uncanonical for me.. if that makes sense), so the way of wrath and destruction is def a likely path but it most likely will end badly for her like in Season 5. if she ever made it out alive, i would rather see a different Joan after all she has been through. like how Negan survived and there is a possibility (however small that is) that mercy can change a person, a turning point in other words.
or do you think that change is not possible for her? it all depends on the writing i guess, but as most shows go, the heroes usually gets a good ending and the villain a less satisfying one, i just wished they have something great planned for a villain such as Joan Ferguson because why bother with giving her character shades that resonate with so many of us in S2/3 and showing us her raging emotions like in that Goldfish episode?

Likely we'll see Joan for a measly 5 minutes if that. WW writers sure know how to kill a show that was good earlier seasons. 2-4 really. Prisoner the original did a lot better.
This season is bloody boring. I couldn't even watch all of ep 8, i scanned through. Another waste of time. They bring up Joan in the beginning and of course the end.
Future advise to the green writers: don't bait an entire group of fans for a season, you've lost us.

I hate to say that I totally agree with you. I really loved the original cast in the first several seasons and then it started to deteriorate and others came and threw everything off. I do think they made some mistakes in the writing and they know it now but they’re trapped.Fans know it. I am really disappointed. And I wonder where it’s going.

WW uses fans as "currency". They either don't care or just really are horrible at writing season 6. I'm not gripping my seat, I'm scanning through boring episodes. This an injustice to fans and the actors they like.
It's been that way since S4. I blame the influx of new characters and the loss of certain writers from S1-3 (not to be sexist, but like, maybe have a majority of women writers for a show revolving around...women?). Characters that are actually interesting become 2D and burn out too fast (Joan, Sonia, Maxine, even flipping Jodie), almost like they become too much for the writers to handle so they have to be set free. Meanwhile, useless characters who offer nothing (at least not anymore) are kept around for no apparent reason (Allie, Kaz, Bridget/Franky - though at least those last two are gone now). As it stands S1 is far superior to S4,5 and 6. That is saying something. S2 was their peak imo. I'm only watching for the classic cast now: Vera, Liz, Boomer, Will, Smiles. They're a dwindling bunch.... Rita is the only new character that I'm really invested in at this stage. Ruby was alright, but Allie has ruined her for me now. Getting tired of story arcs starting and disappearing, never to be mentioned again too (Rita Bennett's euthanasia, Jake's drug smuggling, Channing's everything, Vera/Franky being responsible for Meg's death, Smiles being responsible for Ferguson's rape, Juice suddenly being liked, the list goes on and on and on and on...). Don't even get me started on the fact that they keep baiting lesbian fans too. Allie was a lesbian, no wait, she slept with dudes. Oh, okay, Marie's a lesbian then, no nah, sorry she does Will(y). I think they hinted at Kaz to begin with--oh no, sorry, Will(y) again. Well at least we have Franky! Oh...but they paired her with that brick wall Westfail, hm. Joan then? *crickets*. Well, at least we have the rapist Juice I guess...yippee. Why is half the cast bisexual anyway? Are they saying bisexuals are more prone to criminal behaviour....? Fan-service with an offensive twist, oh dear.

Leave me alone.. It will likely be the last episode of season 6 when or if writer's decide on Joan coming back. Her fans have been used and taken advantage of in order for WW to maintain viewers. Not the best way to keep a show alive. Yet they brought Frankie back twice to keep viewers. Sad.

WHY exactly couldn't Bridget be part of this story, considering she is Vera's friend and she still could have been a psychologist at Wentworth? She certainly knows more about Ferguson than the new prisoner psych! Missing #Fridget and would love to know what they're up to. I hope we get a glimpse into their lives soon. Here's a thought: maybe Franky and Bridget can be involved in the halfway house Kaz said she was working on.

Vera is being stalked. At first she thought it was Jake but it happened again while Jake was at work with Will. Someone broke into Vera's and layed a pair of leather gloves on her pillow.
Joan could well be alive but I doubt she'd do things the stalker is doing like leaving a dead magpie on Vera's doorstep or throwing a brick through her window.

I don’t think Joan is still alive. If she is, the 1st person she will be targeting is Will (assuming Jake told her) and if Jake didn’t help her out then Jake is her target. Cause Jake is the one who made the arrangement for her to escape and end up being buried alive. And whats more perfect ending for evil Joan than to haunt her enemy even if she already dead?. And the tricks that played on Vera wasn’t Joan’s style. My bet is on Jake or the nurse that been fired by Vera.

Impending six page rant incoming. I don't get why Joan would target Vera anyway. After Vera saved her last season we were lead to believe that Joan had eased up on her (she actually thanked her at least). I was hoping there'd be some redemption thrown in for Joan, seeing as how she has obviously lived a tortured life. Jake is getting more redemption when he's just a sleaze for the sake of it. The majority of the fandom seems to hate him too, which makes me really question why the writers are trying so hard to make us all cheer for him and feel sorry for him. For god's sake, even JUICE is being painted as likeable now. WTF? Is this the twilight zone?????
Okay, sure, Joan probs still wants those crowns and we could say that's why she's targeted Vera - but there's a more logical way to go about it. Lets assume she has dug her way out; why wouldn't she go to the police? The WW staff burying her alive immediately discredits their testimony about her. They'd be fucked. She can go to her story of "They just didn't like me from the start and conspired to get rid of me" and voila. That has been one of her tactics hasn't it??? Golden opportunity to follow through on that and she's gonna go harass Vera instead...? O....kay?
It's either shock value (ergo BAD) writing or I must be missing something. Either way, the WW writers have been screwing over Joan fans since S4 (some even say S3) so I've got little hope that this is going to change. Ferguson had so much potential as a character but they made her so 2D in S4 and I don't think they can recover from that.
I would have much preferred a redemption arc wherein Joan teamed up with Vera to take down Channing. Or even if she'd teamed up the other prisoners to take down Channing (who would be a sight worse for those women to deal with, given how corrupt and perverted he is too). Heck, even if she'd teamed up with a desperate Kaz to take down Marie or Sonia (who should've been top dog before being topped off). And speaking of which, where is Channing? Wasn't he Governor by the end of last season? Has his absence been addressed? Maybe he's the real stalker here. More likely, a pissed off Joan fan just trolled the set by leaving gloves and dead birds everywhere and they accidentally filmed it so they just went with it, lolz.

Also, can Allie hurry up and leave? Sick of her finger being in every darn pie. And while I'm sure Jenko is nice in real life, her acting leaves a lot to be desired. The character is so boring and shallow yet for some reason she plagues every episode. Must be the cheapest to pay I guess...? At any rate, every character she gets close to (Bea, Franky, Ruby) ends up turning to garbage.

Naj Ri I'm not sure, somewhere along the line it will not be renewed after season 7. That's why people are encouraged to sign the petition. Also, they need to advertise better. For all the Americans that know about it, even more do not nor do they care. If they watched some, it may change their mind. Many still watching Oitnb. So it's surprising more haven't heard of WW. It's more of a "cult following" in the states.

Still, I'm not sure the writers are trying to imply that at all. Rabe might be inclined to explore that avenue for her character, but Atko once said Ferguson was "like a mother" to Vera so...ew.
I for one even see that dead magpie as a FreakyTits sign. Doreen and Nash got together after fondling that Magpie of their's. Joan probably thinks magpies are an aphrodisiac. *ahem*
