AFAIR he's been suffering from a really hard liver failure, he's lost dozens of pounds and was really thin in 2019/2020 and had to undergo a liver transplant. He almost died he was in coma to be true.

Dennis plays the band into the ground. They can't keep up with him. It's such a joy to hear and see him playing funk. He, Dave Weckl and Gergo Borlai are the greatest.

I used to see dennis at gordon miller music in Towson Maryland and we would talk for hours about music and drumming. I dont have heros but hes real close...lol. i used to love playing along to peg and let the guitar do the work for me.....just keep that slippry groove and let the band fill in the rest.
Absolutely not Aja like Gadd or Carlock but what the hell, its super high energy, visual as well as audio DC he still blows and its super exciting for the crowd. Drummers go to 3.15
