  • Evan and I climbed Cathedral Ridge, more or less in a single push! 22 hrs Car to car (18 hrs moving time) up from a few miles before Top Spur Trail head over and down the south side all the way to Government Camp. Total was about 15 miles and 8500 ft of climbing with full overnight packs (though we didn't end up using our bivy gear) The route and conditions were epic. This route has a little bit of everything! Route finding, exposure, steep ice and snow, knife edge ridges. The nearly full moon made the night portion of the climb all the more epic. This video is a little longer then my normal videos but worth the watch!

I can’t wait to climb these beautiful mountains we have. Hopefully next year I can begin the journey!

    Freaking epic climb guys!

I love your content! Of all the north side routes which do you think is the safest/easiest and how does that compare to the standard southside route?

Thanks! on the North side: Sunshine and Cooper Spur are the easiest, Cooper Spur peaks at 60 degree snow, Sunshine peaks around 50 degrees, but it is a little longer and requires glacier travel. So it depends on when you go. Before June (when the road to cloud cap opens) both routes will require you to start from Tilly Jane Sno park and end up being over 7k feet of Vert. also its not recommended to descend the North side, so generally a carry over is the safest option. Its more mileage and vert then the South side, and a little steeper and potentially more technical. Ill be putting out a cooper Spur video soon from a climb I did in July up there! What gear do you use for your feet? Boots - do you carry alpine too or just climb with touring boots?

Ironic close to the summit my question was answered - nice work.

@@offpiste312 yea, we already had 45+ lbs on our backs since we carried overnight gear but didn't use it (tent, sleeping bag, etc) but in general I just climb in my ski books, I know some guys who will pack up separate boots though.
