We climbed this route on 4/1/2024. The ice and formations in the chute varied quite a bit from two years ago when you climbed it but it was still a cool variation!
Nice work! And yes, Ive heard about quite a variety of conditions up in there before. I climbed it after a longer dry spell in January, which I think helped clear a lot of the loose crap out. It's a fun route.
This looks like a fun variation , thinking about swinging up it this weekend as temps look pretty cold. Thanks for posting a vid of the route!

Sweet ice! Solid pick placements. Nice! Oh, and stunning snow formations.
Next year will be the year I hopefully climb Mount Hood
Looks intimidating
Its a beautiful mountain! but I wouldn't start with this route! haha
@@MountainMontage old chute for first route? I’ve Done Mount Adams, Saint Helens, Mount Baker, Glacier Peak and South Sister for volcanoes.
@@Zane5804 yes, Old Chute or Pearly Gates (depending on time of year / conditions) are typically the standard / easiest routes
@@MountainMontagejust bagged Mount Hood May 31st!! Took the 2 o’clock chute up and down the 1 o’clock. It was very scary going back down 😅
So badass. Hoping to try soon but man it looks icy.
yes, not ideal for first time conditions, spring is better, but icy is good for technical routes!
You guys should hook up. Combine talents.
dude i love ur channel
Are the ice route on south side still good in summer?
no, i'd say they typically go out for the season by May, but obviously it depends on the weather quite a bit.
What ice tools do you use
Singing Rock Bandit. They are an off brand, but I love them! and they were quite affordable!
