😂 Best tour ever. I've been coming here for 10 years trucking loads from Colorado springs. I've often wonder about this town but you summed it up pretty good! I've flown my paraglider off that small hill you climbed by the lake. Short flight but first/last guy to probably do it. Beautiful place to watch the morning sun rise! Breath taking really
I went the Sheppard AFB for tech school back in 2002. I would leave base on the weekends a lot and check out the town. It was pretty nice. Found a really cool little hole in the wall comic book shop.
My father was stationed at Shepherd Air Force Base 1962-1969. I was born at Walson Army Hospital there Jan.17th, 1964. We lived near Sikes Center Mall. Beautiful mall. Our mall in Evansville, IN is still open and still people love the mall here!!!Those were homes you bought back in 1962. The dog park used to be a baseball area? But it was a shopping center when big tornado hit in 1979. The one in 1964 blew out my dad's windows out of his '57 Chevy as it hit Shepherd! That I barely remember but the skyscraper looks familiar. Definitely has changed alot. What I remembered was Shakey's Pizza.
Great Video Man..I'm actually from Lawton Oklahoma originally so I've been to the falls many times including the short lived cowboys training camp in the late 90s and early 2000s
I lived in Wichita Falls 1972-73 as an Air Force bride. So many memories, even though we didn't get out much. Saw the movie Billy Jack there, lived in an apartment in a complex now called Lions Court. The apartments were new and pretty nice. $97 a month included all utilities. Worked at McDonalds owned by the Boones. Pioneer Restaurant. Sears downtown with parking on the roof. The big blue building was First Wichita National Bank, I think. Lots of cowboy hats and boots. No crack. Great, funny video, but kinda sad.
My parents just moved there in Oct. They're trying to get me to move over there as well.. Now that I know that crack is apparently in abundance, and where to score.. I'm seriously considering making the move! Thanks for the video!👍
Omg..you have such a great sense of humor for growing up in such, what seems to be a somber city in TX. I’m feeling really sad for my friend that had to move there after living in Cali all her life 😢
Lol.. pretty accurate! Via USAF I spent about 5 months in '97, a couple weeks around '05, and a couple months in '07 at Sheppard.. pretty much made our own fun for sure! There used to be a club by the Sikes mall way back called Graham Central Station - found a write-up - 'Entertainment center with five clubs under one roof, including country/Western, Karaoke, Top 40, Retro Disco, and live entertainment' Had a blast there many nights.. Google shows 'Vernon College' now. Another fav B-Dubs used to be in the mall but I see has moved
OMG Samurai of Tokyo..... if i remember correctly , it was in different location but we used to go to SofT way back in late 80s, early 90s when we lived there... was our go to for special occasions, bdays, etc....

You have a beautiful soul and I would like to request a personal tour around your town in Wichita Falls Texas, please?.. I just moved here from Muskogee Oklahoma running fiberoptic cable in the air and underground and so far I must say that Texas is much, much hotter than Oklahoma is but the people are much more pleasant to talk to 🎉 I love it ❤😅

Lmao! Love the video. Blunt and to the point. I spent a few months of tech school there at Sheppard Air Force Base back in 2003. Getting ready to come back for a different course required of me from the military. Just wanted to check CZcams to see if anything has changed… seems worse, Lol. Funny video though. Thanks for sharing!

I remember bicycling around the football stadium as a kid. I wonder if the sears mall that had a three story parking garage is the same one in this video? I vaguely remember downtown. I sorta remember the blue stripped building
Nice tour. I spent a year at the AFB in Wichita Falls. It's long ago - 1984-1985. The city did not develop in a positive way. The only thing I can remember of your tour was the shopping mall - and it was crowded with people. Sad to see. Damn that I really missed the worlds smallest skyscraper.
you forgot to show the best high school in town...Hirschi! Also you forgot the great sheppard air force base where airmen descend on the city and harrass high school girls....Samauri IS the grestest restaurant in the world..
Real talk though is Ronnie's burgers good. I always make a pit stop in wichita falls driving from Austin to Denver and back and I saw this place last time and it looked like it would be good.
wOW, I was looking to move there to be near my Aunt. To leave Bryan TX. But after this video...I think I should find someplace else. This city looks to be going down hill. You never said why you still live there.
It's not as bad as he makes it seem. This is a comedy video he's doing it on purpose lol. Tbh though I wouldn't say it's going downhill, it's about the same as Bryan (Minus college station). There's alot of good parts he didn't show

The Littlest Skyscraper is based. It was 100% just an investment scam, some random dude came to town and got with a bunch of local investors and had them invest immense ammounts of money to build a massive skyscraper of the day, but they didn't pay attention to that plans being measured in inches, the investors got what they paid for technically so there was no legal case, but there were lots of civil actions
Also 2024 update: Dillard's has shut down and it was replaced by an arcade that has already failed once in the mall and it already showing signs of shutting down. How is sikes even open still
Eight years of my life was living in that GAWD FORSAKEN city. First 5 years at Sheppard AFB, then 3 years at the Delphi Plant. Don’t know about crack deals but we did hang in Sykes Center Mall for entertainment. I avoided all the Pioneer Restaurants especially before they put the flyovers above all those monopolies and you had no choice. Walking the man made falls and never walked up the big dirt hill but did go to Lake Wichita just because. Would I move back? Hell no

The hotel by the "falls" was a Sheraton first. I used to work there in the early '90s.
Got drunk there many a time. 😂
That's where I did my underage drinking. Monday thru Friday from 5pm to 7pm they had a happy hour with a free buffet.

You are a very funny guy. But your tour makes me cry for all the towns in the United States just like this.
You're funny Landon!!!! Thanks for the tour😊
The best part of the outside of Dillard’s is the two tone brick, where the 79 tornado ripped the top off!
Didn’t the Cowboys used to hold training camp there in the 90s?
Great to see that Town again. I was there 10 years ago.
ive been a resident here for 8 yrs since 2016. lets just say: "Blue skies, Golden opportunities". best city.
