We begin day 2 of this epic Monongahela West Virginia overland adventure waking up at the top of a 4000 foot mountain peak. Dean and I cook up some breakfast and Austin plots our route. It's an absolutely gorgeous early fall day in the forest, but there's another treat in store - the largest river ford I have ever done, and it's pretty deep too!

So I finally did this earlier this month. but we went the opposite direction as ya'll did.
That river crossing was really something else! and a fun route for sure!

@@DirtRoadTherapy not sure, when we went through it was about 3 feet deep? I’m 6’7” and it was just below my waste line.
Either way, First time a water crossing has made me so nervous and so excited! Haha
Crossing the Dryfork is always a damn good time. I was just there with the kiddos last weekend and it was low enough to park in the middle and get out to grab some photos.

Great video! NJ used to allow climbing observation towers into people started throwing TV's off & cutting the steel structure. When I was young, the fire wardens would invite you into the "house" & spend as much time talking as you had to spend! Also, I know the out of gas feeling. My V8 Commander has me leaving the trail multiple times in search of fuel. Good job Jon!
Yeah exactly, it’s people’s crappy behavior that has gotten so much locked down ☹️ times change. Wish I could go back and hang out with a fire warden in a lookout that would be so cool. I bet they had some neat maps and knowledge of the area. Thanks for the feedback!
Bickle knob tower was the absolute first place I ever took my jeep when I bought it we trailered it to Elkins from Tennessee then took a trip to Canaan with friends, the view was incredible from the top of the tower the week we were there with the trees in full fall color

Great video: did you ever do anything special to make the vw alternator survive water crossings? I seem to remember killing one out in moshannon?
I killed the bearings in the original. This one has been running fine. It gets wet it stops charging for a few minutes till it dries out. I haven’t done anything to this one
The only thing that would have made this trip better is a little fall color. Such a good time.

I wouldn’t say NO fun…but they definitely have put away some cool stuff behind lock and key. It’s not the agencies fault really, it’s people making bad choices that does it every time ☹️

Is that a dig on the music choice? Because Muzak is a service used in retail stores, not where anyone sources music for CZcams.
