  • A viral video of a large fight near Canal and Bourbon Streets this weekend has New Orleans business owners concerned about the image it portrays to visitors.
It shows a chaotic scene, just steps from a busy French Quarter.
Zeke Cee and Vickie Contreras from San Diego say they heard the commotion.
“We just said we’re not going to be any part of that and we’re walking on out of there,” Cee said. “We didn’t come to have a bad time.”

Someone should have told the police about the donuts.
They would've showed up if they heard about donuts.

whoever was doing the donuts & peeling out needs to go to jail or be charged in some way. that’s a historical area that’s been here for years & to be so god damned disrespectful ruins it for everyone else. also disturbing the peace. whipping your car all over isn’t cool, actually makes ya look like a giant asshole

It's the culture, right? This can't be solved by curfews and restrictions for the rest of us. Other people live and call New Orleans home too, all of our lives. It isn't fair or just or right or descent for the city, ( MAYOR'S OFFICE) to allow this type of lawlessness to occurr simply because those doing it are black. Let's be honest or we will never fix ourselves. The mayor does not provide a safe environment FOR ALL to live and enjoy, that is the responsibility of the administration in charge. Everywhere I look shops and businesses are closing all around the greater New Orleans area and typically for the same reason; people who don't know how to act and government administrators who lack the intestinal fortitude or just maybe are quite aware of the environmental impact. Funny though because they have to live here to and think it will never come to their front door; well, they are wrong. What a fabulous place to raise a family and try to be positive and successful. 👎

I love it when their soft feminine side comes out. I live in Louisiana for Gods sake. I'd planned a trip to NOLA this month but thought better. I always stay at the Astor Crown Plaza. Canal and Bourbon. Right where this fight was. Do NOLA PD actually allow burnouts and this crowd in this area? I really want to come but it's way to dangerous. I normally spend 5K-10K per trip twice a year. Not a lot of money but multiply it times a million. Weak Mayor. Weak cops. Weak economy.

I have lived in New Orleans for over 30 yrs. right now I live about 40 miles away . The only time I go there are for doctor visits . You have every right to be concerned it has become a very dangerous place . There are areas that resemble a third world country. The crime , drugs , and poverty are way out of control and the mayor ,and especially the district attorney don't seem to be at all concerned . Maybe if tourist like your self would stay away , and they feel the impact things would change .

LoVely a typical adolescent behavioral aspects of urban culture CONsidered being Fashionably a normality of life nowadays more than ever before CRIMINALITY is CONsidered being Fashionably Normalcy as GANGS, GUNS, DRUGS, and DEGENERACY it's all emotional embraced as CULTural Normalcy amongst the common types TODAY

@@henrinevermind1695 What's considered normal is people having a disagreement that may or may not result in a physical altercation (punching/pushing, etc). As for spinning vehicle tires in a circle (donuts), some individuals enjoy doing it and others enjoy watching the spectacle. As for Guns, Drugs, Gangs and Degeneracy, I didn't notice any of that mentioned in the news clip. Defending yourself physically is not an example of degeneracy.

@@dragonnaganijii2445 maybe you don’t consider this behavior degenerate but others do. There’s a time a place to do spin outs and watch them. Its called a car track or race track and it keeps innocent bystanders safe. As for being in the middle of the street swinging fists at people, not all people consider that normal or okay. Defending yourself does not mean running at someone to get a strike in. Defending yourself is getting away from harm, holding the person’s arms or legs to keep them from hurting you, etc.
