This might be the hardest version choice I've had in a Pokemon game yet. Ceruledge looks awesome, but not having Hydreigon or Tyranitar is a gut punch.

I'm at a crossroads for me. For violet, I prefer the normal Pokémon exclusives, the uniform, and may prefer the cities. However, I am not a fan of the robotic Pokémon, and am much more fond of the ancient vibe honestly, which is a huge factor for me- probably not gonna get it for a little while, but am currently stuck on my decision

I got both versions and let me tell you the games are the same even the exclusives you can easily trade with codes thanks to austin john play. The only thing you need to consider is the riding for me koraidon is the best cause his wheels are not actual wheels but its his sack on front and his tail on the back. Koraidon also has emotions to show during gameplay. Miraidon on the other hand is cool to ride. I decided which version to main based on the legendery trio dog fusion in scarlet which is cool af
I've never played the game, but what a horrible option... Get a bike based one that functions properly or a dinky dinosaur with tires that don't actually function.
I don't like robots, a huge turnoff for me too.
Looks like Scarlett will be it for me.

I prefer violet in almost every manner. The colours, the exclusives, the paradox Pokémon. But man, Koraidon is just so freaking cool and adorable. I don’t know what to do, I really want Violet, but I’m never gonna forgive myself if I leave Koraidon hanging😞

@@CalmExplosions Pokemon Violet. I love Miraidon, that purple armor Pokemon, salamence, dragapult and so much more with it. Despite preferring the Pokemon Scarlet professor, I just can't pass up Pokemon Violet.

I pinged back and forth between the two for a while but I think ultimately, I'm leaning more towards Scarlet, for the old world/nature type themes. Also, I'm really fond of my dragon types as well!
Yeah not really a fan of the design theming choices for Violet (seen so far), too narrow a theme choice imo, it'll prob just feel like almost every new paradox/version exclusive mon you see is some variation on 'robot'
And with the past forms of Scarlet 'mons actually being rooted in history, designs from them will likely feel more what "Pokemon" was originally intended to be. Plus, I always liked seeing what exactly Pokemon where based on.
I picked violet, mainly because of Miraidon, Ceruledge, and Prof. Turo, also because of all the futuristic stuff is kinda new, we've always had ancient stuff like the fossil mons and the ones introduced in PL:A so Violet it is.
I decided on Violet way back in June hahaha cos the choice for me is I always alternate the versions I get with each mainline Pokemon game (e.g. I got Let's Go Pikachu, Shield, Brilliant Diamond etc.).
Furthermore, I have played Legends: Arceus which is based on the past, so now I thought it's time to play a Pokemon game based on the future! (:

After reading some of the comments, I’m really glad I made the decision easy on myself and just bought both versions. Did the same with Sword and Shield (last Pokémon game I played) and never regretted it
Toughest decision in a long time. Intended to pick Scarlet, bc I usually prefer ancient stuff over futurism, and I really like Koraidon, but Miraidon grew on me. Probably making a spontaneous decision once I buy the game.
Lol literally just did that at Walmart, the employee definitely seemed annoyed I could choose 🤣 ended up getting Scarlett!
@@calebhogue2619 I was lucky, there were only two versions of Scarlet left, and me and my best friend picked that :D Perhaps starting over again though, as I couldn't really immerse myself into it due to stress today

I never ever usually base my choice on the legendary as you get it late game and I never use mine if I'm playing seriously - makes the game way too easy. But this changes everything
i was going to buy violet but after seeing the robot pokemon i definitely think im going to be buying scarlet
I normally have no trouble deciding on a version, and I've been playing since gen 1... But this time, has the most difficult to decision on which version to pick out of all of the generations.
I'm leaning Violet because of the exclusive and legendary pokemon difference... but at the same time I prefer the professor, the "Version Name Font", the ancient theme, the ancient paradox forms, and school uniform of Scarlet more. ITS KIND OF HARD TO PICK!!! UGHHH
Samee oml I like a lot of the designs and the uniform in scarlet but a more futuristic landscape would be refreshing after legends arceus and I like the Pokémon for violet more 😭

I got Violet only because I figured I could just get the two dragon exclusives from scarlet in violet anyways just in a different form. I wasn’t into most of the other Pokémon exclusives from scarlet except the Donphan and armarouge.
I like red over purple in general, but I don't like the way Koraidon run while riding on it lol

It’s pretty much gonna come down to which vehicle Pokémon I like more but I can’t decide. I like scarlets look a little more (I think??) but I don’t like how he runs around even though he has wheels. If he didn’t have the wheels i would definitely get Scarlett. I probably will anyways but not sure. This video helped a lot clarify the differences though!
I like the legendary Miraidon on violet better like the exclusives better on violet. But the hidden Pokémon in Scarlet is more of the vibe I like more natural look. But I like the professor better in Scarlet but like the school uniforms better in Violet. So I’m still on the fence might just get both but one at a time if I can’t decide lmao 😅

From all the information I’ve gathered but could be wrong here, it’s doesn’t really matter what version you pick as long as you have a friend who picks the opposite version as you both join each others game both version exclusive Pokémon will spawn. So it’s really just what legend you wanna ride and also those two armour Pokémon.
I'm so at odds... the paradox pokemons from scarlet look cooler, but I dont want to be stuck riding around in koraidon, since (while I love his design) it just looks stupid to me that he's walking around with a weel that doesn't work, so I prefer miraidon in that regard... goddammit
I'm going to wait for reviews this time before deciding to get either, but I know if I did, it'd be Violet. I can't not go with the better color and cooler looking legendary, which is kind of how I've always decided each gen. Idc enough to let the profs sway the decision.
I'm very jealous Scarlet gets Skuntank, but Mismagius is one of my favorite Pokémon and I could probably get a trade somehow

I already went on a whim ( my friends choice) and got Scarlet, and I'm actually pretty glad I did, though the appearance of the main legendary wasn't very impressive to me. I've never really been interested in the future, so Scarlet wins there too. As for professors, had to go for Sada, rock it queen! Outfits look more fun for Scarlet and orange/red is more my color. Seems like I won't be regretting my choice to listen to my friend 😊
Just check the shiny of Koraidon and you will see you didn't make any mistake 😊 I am getting Scarlet too ..

Thanks for putting a preface to the discussion of the paradox pokemon. I was only interested in knowing version exclusives of returning pokemon, and am saving the paradoxes to be found on my own
But there will be paradox Pokémon that are specific to each copy, you should get informed on that.
My Niece is old enough where she loves playing Pokémon now, beat Shield without my help. So I gave her first choice and she said she wanted Scarlet. Sooo looks like I’m getting Violet which I am totally okay with!!

I haven't played Pokemon since Blue and I'm really tempted to buy this one, I already went through this with Sword&Shield when the Open World aspect seemed really tempting to get back into Pokemon and was only stopped because people complained how they didn't port all Pokemon into the new one....

You made a mistake when saying which box legendaries is going with which batch of exclusive Pokémon, and you also said your uniform changes with the season, assuming you meant versions.
For the version exclusive Pokémon you mixed up the legendaries in each, Miradon is in Violet not Scarlet
This is a really hard choice, but I might get scarlet. I like its older theme, and my favorite color is red, so it's made to be.

i love tyranitar way more than salamence, but t-tar gets a paradox form in violet (i hope it looks OK, all future ones being metallic is kinda meh imo) and violet has ceruledge.
I wonder if there's going to be anything else different that is not covered in this video, because I find the pokemon company has been a bit secretive, which is really annoying if you want to make the right choice. Not to mention, we don't know if there will be differences in the DLC.
Isle of Armor gave you a different rival depending on your version for gen8 and I preferred the sword rival, but I owned shield...
Man idk what to do. Maybe check out the paradox pokemon on the day of release because im certain content creators will share them when the embargo is lifted.

I prefer the color violet over scarlet as I find orange to be unappealing but I love Koridaon so much more! And robots and futuristic stuff isn’t really that interesting to me as much as ancient or prehistoric creatures, ordered scarlet since it was the only one available at target anyways
I’m slow getting this game but going for violet. The differences aren’t too different for me. I do like the female professor more on scarlett but not liking wearing orange for the whole game. I like purple that’s pretty much the tipping point for me. I think the futuristic style looks kinda cool too.

You got Miraidon and Koraidon mixed up at 3:39. Miraidon is the Violet one, Koraidon is the Scarlet one.

im glad im team violet, the only losses imo are future donphan and eiscue, everything else looks great. i also wish dreepy can be found early on, unlike in SWSH since i wanted to raise one on my team without trading
Well in your next playthrough when they open up Pokemon Home, you can raise a young one from an egg or transfer a young one from sword or shield. That's my plan at least, Dreepy is one of my favs.

5 hours into violet and i still have not decided which place to go to first, been busy getting items and tera raid spawns that are around the over world areas. the pot cats evolution sadly disappointed me(looks only). love that theres just so many diffrent things to do, sadly cant swim, fly or climb right off the bat, but being able to jump while mounted has let me get to interesting and hidden aeras so far, Gimmighoul's are hidden everywhere(most are in roaming form, tho i have been able to find 1 chest form). loving the game so far. also playing raids solo, will give you 3 npc's to join you in the fight.

@@NuggetGX nope lol had to work today so had to take a break. Have not decided where to go first. Just been leveling up my party and collecting items. Managed to find a gimmeghoul (chest form)on the cliff top next to the lighthouse at the start of the game.
@@NuggetGX played far enough to be able to use the dragon as a bike and thats it, enjoying looking for different tera raids currently. Bit laggy on the switch but runs somewhat better through the ryujinx emulator for what ever reason. Playing scarlet on the switch and violet on the emulator.

Easily violet for my choice. Although i much prefer the female prof tho over the guy lol BUT Violet has the better looking legendary and exclusives imo. Also i love anything high tech so it's futuristic themes is a huge bonus for me.

So if Salamence has a Scarlet Paradox form, but it's only obtainable in Violet, I'd have to trade for it?
I do this thing with my sis where she picks I get the opposite then next time I pick she gets the opposite, but I grew more on scarlett and it didnt make me feel like I HAD to have it, Koridon just looks so much cuter! Miriadon looks cool but bald 😅
Scarlet for me. Either way it wouldn't matter because my brothers both always get the opposite from what we get to each other. Can't wait for the 18th. Legitimately 2 days away or if you consider the time of this post the a day and half technology.
It's Koraidon (Co-Rye-Don)and Miraidon (Mi-Rye-Don) and Miraidon is in Violet not Koraidon easy way to remember Korai=past and Mirai=future in Japanese

I personally like scarlet better, do to the fact you have these pokemon that look like a whole new pokemon but still somewhat the same. With cool details. Than violet has robots. That's pretty much what it. Ridion past form where its tusk are almost into its head and has fur, future is just a robot.
I don’t know for Scarlett I prefer the colours (which for me is a big deal lol cause I don’t really like purple), the legendary (already forgot the name lol and except for the fact that the wheels don’t work but oh well) and the academy but for violet I prefer the futuristic vibe and professed so idk
