In this video I am comparing the Xbox Series X and the Playstation 5 which are two of my favorite and most popular consoles right now. I have both but XSX I prefer more. Better backwards compatibility, FPS boost, Dolby Vision, etc. It gives me similar performance to newer games on PS5 but allows more of an ecosystem with many games I’ve had already for years.

I got my Series X with a stroke of luck back in Dec of 2020. I've been enjoying it so much. Yes, the PS5 has better exclusives and probably will always be the case but thanks to Game Pass I've played so many games that I probably would have never touched. Love the minimalism it gives to my set up.
Don't be so pessimistic. Microsfot is investing heavily into Xbox. The games should get a lot better.

i don't think it will always be the case, cause elder scrolls and fallout being exclusive to xbox is going to be a massive feather in their cap, even more so when a new doom game comes out.

Last year was my first time buying a PlayStation. Played Spider-Man on it and some other exclusives but after a month I just went back to playing my Xbox. I have all my friends I grew up on there and all my stats on. I find that the specs of a console really don’t matter but rather which console you grew up with/which ones your friends play on matter more imo

Ps5 controller has a more better experience then xbox i have both but i sold my xbox its to clunky when your on the menu the ps5 is clean from the menu to to the way it looks the control feel smooth and the experience will always over power xbox hands down

Great video. Minimalist here. I'm more than happy with my PS4 and still enjoying lots of the games that are coming out for both the 4 and the 5. I have had no desire to get a 5 at all. Unless Ragnarok would've been a PS5 exclusive, then I would've gotten it. They're still not able to use its full potential, and still has a weak exclusives library. I've had my Xbox series S for over a yr. and I'm more than happy with it. Game Pass blows PS out of the water and have been playing alot of great games on it. Not buying into the PS5 hype just yet. This was the first generation I’ve purchased PlayStation 5 as my primary console. Sonys only real major hardware misstep was the PS3 and allowed the XBox 360 to gain a large share. While I have a lot of XBox games, still play the XBox One X for the older games, and Microsoft’s backward compatibility is without peer, the PS5 really is a great console package. Super fast SSD and the controller redesign to feel much more like the XBox controller with all of the PS controller functions is the icing.

I have both Series S and PS5. As far as controllers are concerned, Initially I was too impressed with the dual sense controller thanks to adaptive triggers and that amazing tech demo Aka Astro’s Playroom. It certainly feels more premium in the hands. But with time I have realised that the Xbox controller gets the fundamentals right. I mean it’s comfortable, feels natural in my hands, has grippier concave sticks, ergonomics are spot on and has tactile buttons. It’s only after playing for hours and hours you realise how good the Xbox controller feels in the hand.

and i think that's what people can't seem to see, they see the features on the ps5 controller and are like oh nice, then they use em and it's like meh it's all hype, i want a premium feeling controller in my hands not a gimmicky one.

Good honest review,I have ps5 and love it but I’ll eventually get Xbox when budget allows as I’ve had Xbox in the past and love Gears of War,both are great consoles in my opinion you won’t miss out either way ,the ps5 controller is great this time and it’s well suited for bigger hands in my view .

I like the design of the xbox controller more but I like the dualsense features for the games that use them.

Good video. I have a PS5 and love it. The exclusives were the selling point for me. Can't wait for Silent Hill 2 Remake. Xbox has better graphics on paper, but just like you, I see no difference. They're both next gen so it's not night and day difference as they both have powerful hardware. Both systems look great, just comes down to personal preference as they're both pretty much on par.
James, it's a good thing that Xbox bought Bethesda and are in the process of purchasing Activision-Blizzard then. I can't wait for all those day one GamePass releases!

I tend to play the PS5 way more than the Xbox Series. The controller is just a different experience and the exclusives are top notch, where I am still playing PS4 games on it.
I hope Sony gets the hint of why people keep buying Xbox Series consoles (Gamepass) and get something similar soon.
Perhaps the PS7 can be backwards compatible from all playstation games and puts most of them in a subscription like Gamepass.
There would be no contest which console would win that war if that happened.

Microsoft does have many Xbox x because no one purchased them. I have PS5 and it's the best.
Love both for different reasons. Can’t wait until more Xbox games come out this year since I’ve hardly touched it last year.
I’ve had the PS5 for a few months now but I’m definitely going to buy the Series X this upcoming summer for the game pass. Can’t wait to compare them side by side. I can look up these comparisons all I want, but nothing is more truthful than your OWN personal experience. 🔥
Personally I wouldn't do that. I've been on the PlayStation for a couple years now and all the games I own are on it. After getting an Xbox the only thing left for me to play was Halo.
On top of that the X has a terrible interface and nothing that makes it seem next gen aside from the power.
Game pass has a bunch of indie games that if you really want to play you can just buy for a couple bucks a piece.
Granted you might feel differently but my experience hasn't been great. All the old games I was excited about on game pass quickly felt dated once installed.
I will say that something that is very promising is the dev mode which allows you to play dozens of games from other systems.

You could play black ops 1 & 2 and Fight Night Champion. For some reason Battlefield 3 plays like garbage on the newer console.

I have both. I tend to gravitate to the PS5 more. I spend more of my time on it versus the Xbox Series X. Gamepass is great, but I think the UI and Dualsense controller keep me coming back to the PS5. And, it might be me, but some games just feel better on the PS5. For example, I play Battlefield 2042 on both systems, and it seems that the game just runs better on the PS5 than my Xbox Series X.
The PS5 typically trades higher graphical fidelity for superior performance, while the Xbox Series X tends to have higher graphical output in exchange for superior performance. Either way, the two or more or less on par with each other. Paper specs don’t factor much into real world output and performance.

It runs 60FPS an all consoles even Series S all the time. Until you play 128 Mindless chaos mode that dips FPSto the 50s on all console during heavy action scenes. The PS5 Scales down the dynamic resolution alot more to keep frames which i definetly prefer instead of fps dips. Both consoles really do run the same

Always been a Playstation fan since PS1. But, I just got a series S, and loving it. I already have a gaming PC but for the price, plus the utterly insane value of game pass, I'm loving it. Definitely agree with you on the controller though. I use a ps5 controller for pc gaming. I don't find the Xbox controller design being the same as previous gens being a bad thing, I just hate webbed d-pads especially for fighting games that require you to hit multiple directions before an attack like MK. But, loving the S so far for sure.
PS PLUS and GP have almost the same exact games and if u grew up PS it’s far more superior due to the exclusives.. GamePass is overrated bs used to sell consoles.. it doesn’t get nearly the games it hypes up to get.. a bunch of shovelware

I feel like another thing you need to consider for the xbox series x/s is that those exclusives are also avaliable for pc. So, pretty much the only thing you're paying for is the graphics and framerate, which is not exactly the best since you can also get the same if not better with pc.

@@syrus1233 That is certainly something you also need to consider. However, I was able to get one that was on par with the PS5 if not better for 900. Obviously that's not the same price but still. I agree with you that you would be saving a lot of money by buying the series X/S, we just have to consider this when making the purchase, especially if you already have a good PC (like I got recently for Christmas)

Hope Sony fixes the stick drift issue on their controller. iv gone through 3 in a year. XboxSX controller I didnt have this issue least for me and i use it on my PC as well

I have both of these wonderful consoles and I have to be honest that I ended up playing much more on the Xbox Series X.
I just prefer the software of the Xbox and the Quick Resume function is truly a game changer for me.
And for shooting games I prefer the Xbox controller more but for sports games like FIFA I prefer the PlayStation controller more.
The PS5 I ended up using only for their great exclusives. But for games that are available on both consoles I prefer to use the Xbox
PS5 has quick resume. PS button, rest mode. Come back to it, PS button, X
@@Jin-Ro No that’s not true! The PS5 does NOT have quick resume. Quick Resume on Xbox means you can play one game and then switch over to another and pick up from where you left of and then switch to another and do the same thing and etc. The console remembers exactly where in the game you were and you’ll continue from there, even if you completely turn off your console and open it again.
I really love both consoles, BUT the software of the PS5 is just garbage compared to the Xbox software

Like a lot of people here, I have both. My PS5 has a lot of first-party titles like God Of War:Ragnorok and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. It’s the same situation with my Xbox Series X with Halo: Infinite and Forza Horizon 5. As for third party titles, any shooters I have are on PS5, but I also have copies of games for BOTH: Crash Bandicoot 4, TMNT Shredder’s Revenge, Saints Row, GTAV, and NBA 2K23.
In short, if you can swing it, just get both. Seriously.

I fell in love with the Xbox ecosystem 14 years ago and have been quite happy with this since. Microsoft gives up to three free games every month. I tried to download every game that is linked to my account. I needed 14 TB storage to have 1000+ games on the system. I love that we get to play OG Xbox and Xbox 360 games enhanced on the latest hardware. Though not everything is available. For those I keep old hardware as well. Later, if I becomes rich, I'll buy some PS hardware and subscription as well.

quickness of xbox keeps me playing longer, swapping through games, menus at ease is so good, in my opinion the ps5 is missing alot and the features people love on the ps5 aren’t a big deal to me
Question in terms of graphics should be are you playing on a tv or a good gaming monitor with minimal response time? Playing both on a gaming monitor you’ll realize the Xbox is better. This is from my experience

Good comparison! I’ve had both systems pretty much since launch. Personally I use the Series X more and find it much better for gaming and all around entertainment. I only use my PS5 for exclusives. As for the controllers, I feel the PS5 controller feels so terrible in my hands. Yea the additional things the controller can do is cool but it is outweighed by poor design and terrible battery life. The series x controllers design only slightly changed but that’s because there wasn’t much to change since the previous design worked so well. I’d say go with the Series X, but if you’re more about the PS exclusives then go PS5.
Coming from a ps5 to xbox. I found the xbox to be so much better. Replaced 2 os5 controllers within a year, turned on adaptive triggers on COD CW and immediately heard a pop, and the other had awful stick drift.
There are a few things that he didn’t mention that I think are really important
I had a PS2 PS3 and PS4 then I got an Xbox series X.
I was devastated to lose my games and progression and friends.
I have had the Xbox for a about a year now.
Game pass is phenomenal. If it isn’t a multiplayer shooter or something with a lot of players on screen at once, you can cloud stream it. The amount of games they have and keep bringing is insane compared to PlayStation there is no competition. Not to mention you can play on your iPad simple games like Minecraft dungeons or Age of empires etc.
what I miss most from playstation is the fact you could record like 1 hour clips, and stream directly to CZcams. On Xbox you can’t directly stream to CZcams and can only record 3 minute 720p at a time.. To stream to CZcams you have to stream on twitch and then use an app on your phone or other device to screen share the twitch live onto CZcams, It’s a pain in the ass, it’s long and it eats battery. Also sometimes it has mic issues where you have to put your phone in a completely different room for example.
That being said, when you record something on Xbox, you can then use your phone to send a link of that video on the Xbox app to a friend or download that clip onto your mobile device, which is something that I use way more than I thought I would.
Another thing that he didn’t mention which I found really weird, you can get an Xbox series S and that is completely viable. The only reason to get an Xbox series X is for the 4K at 120 FPS but 90% of you don’t even have a monitor or TV to support 4K at 120 FPS, I bought the Xbox knowing I had to replace my TV and finding a TV that’s 4K 120 FPS that’s in your price range might be really difficult. I know for me it was a few days of searching because the companies that sell the TVs usually don’t list that information.
So basically you can record a lot longer clips on PlayStation, but on Xbox you can share three minute clips very easily through your phone.
Xbox game pass is really really good and completely worth it. You need to have some kind of monitor that supports 4K at 120 either way but the Xbox series S is a very cheap way to get your foot in the door.
You can get PlayStation exclusives on PC, I didn’t have a PC so I bought a steam deck. Now I can play PlayStation exclusive there.
Something else to keep in mind, you could buy a series S and a PlayStation four pro for the price of a PlayStation five. You’d be sacrificing graphics and frames on the Xbox and you will be sacrificing graphics on the PlayStation but this way you can get the best of both worlds since we’re not yet in the next generation of consoles completely. Although it is creeping up just something to think about.
I just wish PlayStation would release PlayStation 5 Lite for people who want to be in the PlayStation circle.
Side note: I have been a PlayStation fan boy my whole life. And even after a year using the Xbox series X controller I still prefer the PlayStation four controller just because I’m used to using my index finger to press the D pad while also keeping my thumb on the stick I’m not using my index finger on the stick and thumb on the D pad. I’m sure the PlayStation five controller is really impressive, but not every game is going to take advantage of it anyway.

I haven't used the stream feature but I have definitely recorded at least 10 minutes of game play on XBOX ONE S. So I imagine that can also be done on the Series X if you want longer content at least
Top tier PS+ is $18/month but $120/year. That's $10/month if you buy one year. I bring this up because I can not find gamepass ultimate one year subscriptions. That is why I chose PS5.

Have both. I prefer the PS5 personally. DualSense is a much better controller overall. UI feels newer and overall the PS5 is more fun to use imo. Xbox does feel faster though, especially with Quick Resume. PS5 would be perfect with that feature
Ps5 controller sucks for mw2. Both thumb sticks are too close and triggers are too close and suck for shooters.

@@OGkush69xits all preference. i was talking about the technology in it with regards to its haptics and adaptiveness. xbox controller is simply a really polished xbox controller, while the dualsense is more innovative. whether one is better than the other for certain games or functions is all up to each player’s preference

I don’t know why many people gloss over this underrated feature but the PlayStation plus essential tier gives out 2 to 3 games a month and it’s yours to keep as long as your subscriber. & some of the monthly games are really good
I have both...I only use my PS5 on my TV to play Single player exclusives and Xbox series X on a 27" monitor for gamepass and online games with friends. Also I prefer the xbox controller ergonomics and comfort over the PS5. But when PSVR2 releases I may get hooked and start to play PS5 more lets see 🤷🏽♂️
I currently have xbox PC gamepass on a very mid PC, and it currently costs me the exact same as PS+ Premium would, so i am definitely looking to upgrade to a PS5
Gamepass combined with quick resume combined with a better gpu equals better console. Analog sticks are too low on the ps5 controller and it's just uncomfortable. I also have no need for a speaker in my controller. There's 2 speakers and a mic in my headset..

I own both. I have not much time to play. So. Never had a ps or an xbox before. Bought SX first, its amazing, but i really wanted to try out ps exl games so bought a PS5.
Well, I left SX but I know its only temporary cuz the exlusives are (i) amazing and (ii) time consuming.
But I dont regret to buy SX, cuz after the exl, the xbox will be my choice.
Buy PS5 for exl games, get an XBOX for everything else.
xbox also has a fully customizable UI vs playstation all users use the same UI
I have both and i think they are both great.
Ps5 and pc have been a great pairing for me. Any game on xbox, I can play on pc and I don’t have to pay any subscription fees to go online. I don’t play any sony exclusives online so have no need for ps plus
Don't matter how much things a controller can do if it don't feel good in the hand while playing the games you love and this why Xbox have the better controller
Gonna get a ps5 only for exclusive 1 player story games.
All my multiplats will stay on xbox. Cant imagine playing mw2 with a ps controller.
Also cant live without halo,gears,forza, now high on life, backwards compat. Left 4 dead, n64 titles like conkers bad fur day, banjo kazooe etc 👍
Cant wait to get a ps5 though and play horizon west and god of war.
I like the Series X, I never had a One X last gen as I play PS4 so I'm going to be on Xbox team this generation, plus the Series X hardware is pretty solid and compact, I like how they buiild and laid out the internal components very neatly and well organized. unlike the PS5 which is very plasticy and unweildy, looks more like a toy rather than an electronic device.
Got both this is my honest review. Graphics wise there’s negligible difference, which isn’t a surprise as they’re both on the same architecture and basically the same. The main difference is, what do your friends have? If it’s one or the other get that. Now games wise, PS has it down, Days Gone, Spider-Man, Last of us, God of War, Horizon, Uncharted series, the list goes on. If you just wanna play the best games PS is where it’s at. Not to say XSX doesn’t have good exclusives too though. The only reason I have my XSX really is gears of war and Forza horizon and motorsport.

Love then both. Just wanted to point out that, if you're not going to play on PC, you can just get the cheaper $10 version of Game Pass. It has 400+ games, too.
I played Ragnarok on my PS4 pro beat it and I haven’t touched it since.
I like the xbox better overall and use it more but i do use the ps5 to record cause its easier

As someone who has both and loves both, I'll say I really like the ps5 controller but it's a little too small and awkward for me but both great.

I recently got the PlayStation 5 and in my opinion it is is better than the Xbox particularly the controller. For example with haptic feedback you can 'feel' the impacts of the game you are playing such as feeling the ball hit the back of the net or crossbar in FIFA.
The only cons are the size of the console, setting it up physically (which you luckily only need to do once) and lack of quick resume.
There's a problem with the Series X blu ray read failing over time - both movies and games. CD and DVD continue to work but be prepared to have to send it off for repair.
I have both. I’m on my PS5 Digital Edition more than my Xbox Series X. PlayStation has the better 1st party games, the better UI, and the better controller in the DualSense. 3rd parties are either on par with each other or they trade blows with their own advantages *(PS5 = slightly better performance, XSX = slightly better graphics).* My Xbox Series X is my Xbox Game Pass Ultimate machine and it is a really great service, but even then, Microsoft’s track record with game output is shoddy and unreliable and it has been that way since the Xbox One. I’m still hopeful that they will impressive me in 2023 with their exclusive games lineup, but PlayStation’s quality assurance consistent game output is unquestionable. It’s best to own both if you can.
It will be years before you see the extra power of the xbox being used while they are still bringing games to the older systems they are not truly pushing the new hardware fully yet, but even then the difference will not be in the quality of graphics but the average FPS, so dont worry what system you buy just enjoy it.

I own both and love both. I do, however, find myself playing the PS5 80% of the time. I like the controller better and find the overall content more compelling.
Agree xsx is terrible for single player games. Seriously i like xbox but im not a multiplayer fan so i dont care. 95% of what i like is single player games and xbox dont have that yet. So im bored with the xsx. All i play is old gamed and so far it isn't worth it

I didn’t feel like a big upgrade from Xbox one to series x but coming from ps4 pro to ps5 I was amazed

It's funny you talk about all the ps5 control features. I hate controller vibration, feedback triggers, and speaker. Disabled them almost immediately. I dont get the allure to contoler gimmicks. The lighting syncing up with the games is cool but who is looking at thier controller while playing. And I've never been a fan of the centralized stick layout. Feels awkward.
IMO, the only reason to go PS5 is because you REALLY want one or more of the exclusive games; and I will freely grant that PS has better exclusives than XBox.
But other than that very small selection of games, (and slightly better load times in my experience, but nothing meaningful) Xbox wins in basically every other way, if you ask me.
The only games I've been playing on KY series x are, dead by daylight, goldeneye, and age of empires 2. Upgrading wasn't really necessary for me.
I love when people just tell me to build a PC. Have you seen the prices of gpus and cpus? I've got a $2000 build that can't even keep up with the ps5
if a 2000 pc cant keep up with the ps5 you are choosing the wrong components. Consoles dont actually do 60 fps 4K all the time get real

I had both, I traded my series x for a S just to play halo and flight simulator. Single player story games and exclusives is all ps5 but if your into fast pace shooters, prob the Xbox.
I was an Xbox person now in have the Ps5 I changed because of the community I’m with but I do miss my Ultimate Game Pass

When it comes to the Controllers, The PS5 is nicer except for battery life, I have an elite 2 on my Xbox and R3 button is really sensitive I have a bad habit of melee when I don't want to and yes I've tried to lift my fingers far off of it as I can, they need to fix that
I am a playstation “fanboy” and i for now wont buy the xbox cuz i could just buy the game pass and play on my laptop thru cloud gaming and i love it best thing ive seen going to the future

Shocking review. One of the most important comparisons you should have mentioned was performance. I didn't learn a thing from all the other forgettable and unimportant comparisons.
Its well understood the performance is the same .
The ps5 can play 3,454 ps4 games that end up in the used bargain bin sooner or later.

As a long-time user of PlayStation consoles, a PS5 user for more than a year, I have never owned an Xbox. A couple of days ago I bought an Xbox Series X. Wow, I'm surprised. Many more good solutions than on PS5, game pass is ideal for my taste. All in all, you get more solutions, optiond for your money from the Xbox than from the PS5.
Lots of reasons to buy either, exclusives and what not. Better UI on the PD5, and everything there seems faster, like downloads and general navigation. The haptic feedback is novel at first but i kinda forget its there these days. My main decider is quality, and in that regard there is a vast difference in my experience.
Everything about the Series X feels of a higher quality, more solid, more dependable. The PS5 still sounds like a jet in take off sometimes, and after around 6 months i was lucky to get an hour of gaming before the console would shut down for various reasons. Possibly a poor design philosophy means the PS5 needs to be internally cleaned every few months, not ideal. The Xbox on the other hand has never skipped a beat, always consistent. I find that reassuring, and im happer to spend a wedge on a game on that machine knowing i can depend on it more...
