Jumping up from a xbox 360 S for close to 10 years to a series x is mind blowing! I think I appreciate it more than the average person upgrading from xbox one. Finally got a next gen console!

I was lucky to get my ps5 on release day. It's an absolutely fantastic console. The only downer I've seen at the moment is the lack of next gen exclusives to fully utilise the power of the consoles.

I really enjoyed you video comparing the PS5 to the XBox. I enjoy the PS5 very much and will be sticking with them always.
Preference is key. You prefer PS (nothing wrong with that you do you) whereas I'm more into Xbox. Also Xbox is cheaper so I went with it. No complaints from me on the series S.

I think what I loved most about this review, is the apparent lack of bias. I am a PC gamer, don't use consoles, but I went into this expecting to see a clear bias toward one platform or the other, but you nailed it, in my opinion.

After 5 month people are still trying to get one in the UK 🇬🇧
Not only, in Sweden I believe except for the initial batch there were no consoles. Some stores do no even accept preorders.
In some other countries though the consoles were available in small batches. But sadly as a higher price with bundled with games which stores wanted to get rid of.

Playstation's aren't too hard to get online I got one back in March. I just now got an Xbox. Like I'm sitting with it next to me in my cubicle at work. They did a run today at Gamestop for them in-person. A few more of those and scalpers will be bleeding on inventory so that should help alot.

Thank you for the time tou spent working and putting out this review. I've been thinking about getting an xbox for a change from being a client of ps for almost 10+ years. But I'm worried about the list of games bought online game over the years. Would xbox be able to transfer all my wanted games from ps4 to the new xbox? And continue using those there? Thank you.
No, unfortunately not! Although, Gamepass might already have a majority of those games, plus thanks to backwards compatibility you could pick up disc games for the older generations very cheap and they will still work!! Assuming you get the Series X, that is.

I am a 70 year old gamer. Xbox Series X was my choice. AC Valhalla is my favorite game of all time. And, it looks and sounds incredible on the Xbox Series X.

Wow really impressed with the full description of each game station you were really quite fair in your analysis but just from listening I love the Xbox even more now and was really shocked at that the introduction of VR for the PlayStation which really did peaked my interest it's just the Xbox seems to offer so much more and I am sure that in the future editions of Xbox game stations there will be the introduction of VR also much more that we have yet to hear off thank you this was quite LOL 🤩💯🤩

On the sound side, the xbox supports Dolby atmos through your soundbar, the paid application you mentioned is only for headphones, for home theather it is free.

@GoosePS how's it a flaw? Atmos in headphones isn't even atmos. They're charging you for being stupid enough to buy the gimmick of "atmos enabled headphones" in the first place 🤦♂️
When it comes to just general playstation or xbox I always have different points. On one hand I like playstation's exclusives better with Halo really being the only xbox exclusive I like, and I really like the haptics and vibrations on the ps5 controller(I do really like the xbox elite controller though but I count that as an accessory). But the series X is a more powerful system and it also has the amazing X-box game pass, so at that point for me it's just about preference.
I had a PS5 and PS4. Only problem I had with both consoles is the back triggers on the controllers have broken. The springs don’t push the button back out properly. Other than that great console. This time around I’m gonna buy an X Box X as I’ve not had X Box for years and wanna try it out

That is by far the best comparisson video i've seen, thank you for that, the only thing that was lwft out is the lack of ps5 on sale, its release was 1.5years ago more or less and is still very hard to buy. I've just bought a xbox because of that.

With dolby atmos, you never actually had to buy it - - that purchase was for the atmos headphones virtualizer, for use only with headphones. Atmos enabled hardware amplifiers contain their own internal license. The real reason you likely weren't getting 7.1 to your sound bar was because your TV doesn't have EARC support. Otherwise, max sound throughout on normal ARC ports is 2.0 stereo uncompressed, which explains why you had no surround audio despite buying the atmos virtualizer - - it's still a stereo signal for headphones. You'd have to run HDMI into the soundbar/av receiver first to get the full surround in this case.

yeah that was for headset only. THe seriex x can be set to dolby atmos by default. My upward firing speakers auto angle when atmos games or movies are played.
Great video. Both consoles seem amazing. I just got a PS5 digital because I am coming from the ps4 so it felt natural and a HUGE reason was the fact God of War ragnarok is a month away
Good video. Still I’ve come to notice a reoccurring trend when it comes to tech reviews, and that is reviewers tend to lean more into subjective conclusions rather than objective ones. That said, I don’t think we needed to know about the control not being ideal for “your hands” bro….
Still, beautiful video. I love how much attention to detail goes into your videos. Easy to watch folks but certainly not easy to make. Each frame is a carefully refined thought process and aesthetic, nothing short of art.

I'm leaning towards Xbox Series X for GamePass, the native 4k support and the ability to use 3rd party apps, but MAN missing out on exclusives is killing me.
Also the controller comparison is the other thing that has me torn.
Game pass isn’t worth the money, it’s expensive overtime and the games are garbage on it. The only good games on it will be Back4Blood and Halo Infinite IF they even last long. Back4Blood reminds of ‘Evolve’ back in 2016 and it flopped.
@@TripleKmafia gamepass is defo worth it, the amount of games u can get is insane for the price, there is not a lot of next gen game yet so all you gonna play for now is og games and the gamepass gave you a lot option for now even now both my console is basically a glorified xbox one and PS4 respectively, PS5 not having PS3, PS2 and PS1 game is a huge miss opportunity on sony part.

@@jackyv626 I tried gamepass for 3 months, it’s garbage. I downloaded games, not streamed them, so I didn’t lag on PS Now. Gamepass didn’t appeal to me, and I’ve been playing Xbox for almost 16-18 years. Red Dead, gears of war, halo etc. are garbage nowadays. The only saving grace is halo infinite if it doesn’t end up dead like the other halos. Back4Blood is on PS5, I’ll play it on there
Was lucky enough to find a series X. Absolutely love the console. Plus with game pass, I haven’t paid for a game yet.

Hi! You did not mention which of them has gyro, just like the steam controller for PC. I know that the PS5 controller has gyro, but does the XBox have?
Went with a Series X yesterday after having zero luck with finding a PS5. Picked up an Elite 2 controller to go with it. Super happy. 4k 120hz on my LG C9 is phenomenal...load times are non existent and quick resume is was more convenient than I thought it would be.

On Xbox (and Windows 10 too) Dolby Atmos is supported for free, only Dolby Atmos for Headphones requires a license on both platforms. Keep in mind that it only works with games supporting it.
As a pc gamer I still love the consoles I originally had the ps5 and I absolutely loved it I sold it for other reasons while I was in tech school but then just last week I walked into target and saw the only console there was the series x and Xbox s and I just had to pick up the series x cause it’s so rare to get these things in stores and I have to say at first I had to get used to it but I think I am starting to absolutely love how awesome this console is but both are outstanding

Deathloop made by Bethesda is PS5 exclusive and others will still be on playstation atleast most of their games!
And Xbox exclusive are not really exclusive because they all played on other platforms like Chromebook, PC and even some on stadia

Game Pass makes sense with the Xbox and a PC. I’ve been using it on my Xbox S, on the PC at my parents and in my holidays on another PC. 4 devices (with my PC at home). Tried Humankind and AoE4. My favs were Gears Tactics and Theme Hospital.
Such an amazing concept, but I still don’t know what itd be like to own either because of the DANG SCALPERS

I've had played games on PS2, PSP and PS3 when I was both a little boy and a teenager but I never played games on the Xbox 360, let alone Xbox One! Fortunately, with the PS5 shortage issue still ongoing, I feel glad that this gives me the opportunity to buy Xbox Series X, the console of my dreams since 2020! To be honest, when I see the images of Xbox Series X for the first time, I immediately fall in love with it at first sight! 😇

I need to ask this question about the Digital Gaming Edition of the PS5 Gaming Console, I ordered it, I see that it does not have to have physical disks at all, and it can’t play any Blu Ray Disks neither at all, so if any of you have one if so how do you like it, what are your likes and dislikes about it as you do not have to go to store and buy a physical disk for it as you have to buy and download the game for it,

There are manufacture recommendation size for keeping console inside shelves. This is for air room for ventilation. Ps5 exhaust vents thru the back of the console so more air room is needed when in shelves...
Man both are very nice but I still don't know which one to get. I'm kinda leaning a little more on the XSX more than the ps5 but it's tough choice.

He was attempting to compare Xbox's Quick Resume feature but I can only assume that he didn't have a copy of AC Valhalla for the PS5 so the best he could do was find a PS5 game that loads the fastest.
While I concede that Quick Resume is an awesome feature I've seen reports that it doesn't always work, can corrupt game saves and that each game requires a patch for it to work. Clearly I'd love for Sony to have something similar but based on my experience so far games load insanely fast so I'd rather have a game that loads really fast then to take a chance that a Quick Resume feature could either lose my place or screw up my save point.
@@incredibilistic i don't see the point in quick resume (which is one of the reasons Xbox OS is so big btw) when games can be loaded in 2 -4 seconds from boot anyway it's 1 more button to push resume game from a menu, woah such an inconvenience right , Microsoft really invested in the right areas with this one (sarcasm), you can it was just low effort with that design anyway

I bought a disc edition PS5 and a Xbox Series S, good combo. I prefer the PlayStation games but want an Xbox as friends are in Xbox. I actually think for the money the Series S with game pass is a hell of a deal and most new games upscale to 4K on my tv
I can't do up scale I have a q80t Samsung 55" 120 hz panel got series x and ps5 I like my 4k with sharp images and clear quality with HDR and popping colors man.

Playstations has always been my default system since PS1, now that I got both the PS5 and the XBOX series X, I have completely switched to XBOX as my main machine. Literally used the PS5 maybe 3 times.
For all the reasons you mentioned, my PS5 has become mainly a system for exclusives, other than that, my daily gaming is on XBOX. XBOX has really come out with a strong offering this generation.
@Kratos War absolutely, I game on all three platforms and enjoy them all, ps has great exclusives which is why I have a PS5 (my favorite single player games are mostly ps exclusives). But for multi-platform games I chose XBOX this generation for the better performance and GAME PASS is great value.
I disagree with you! I hate the Xbox UI to the point Where I would choice PS! plus the controller makes it feel like a real next gen you just have to wait for more games to come
@@amru4553 Yes the PS5 feels alot more next-gen than the XBOX (UI, controller, design) when did I say otherwise? True the UI on XBOX isn’t great, but I’d take 4K 120fps gameplay over UI any day :)
Amru The PS4 UI was also much more loved at the start until it started lagging like crazy. And the controller of the Xbox is actually better.
Dualsense: Haptic feedback, adaptive triggers (only good for single player games) and mic (the speaker is completely useless, the touchpad just a gimmick and only really useable in Sony exclusives and the build quality is subjective, I heard different opinions and the components inside are not premium at all)
XSX controller: Size/fit, Grip, non-slippy sticks, normal/elite hybrid and clicky dpad, 30 hour battery life, replaceable batterypacks/AAs, easy repairibility, Cheaper, (no major Stick drift issues and more premium components inside)

In my opinion, you can’t make any mistake with any of the four versions that are out now. Even the Series S is a very good deal. If you’re playing on a 1080p TV, it’s currently the best option.
The problem right now is not, which one you want to have. It’s which one is actually available.
Over here there is not a single store selling 1080p TVs anymore, 4K is the standard, I wanted a 1080p myself since 4K is too much, and I was forced to buy a 4K TV, and this was two years ago.

for the xbox speakers thing u have to set ur tv to hdmi mode to have the speaker active or go to settings and accessories

The reason they allow you download PS4 versions when PS5 is available is for cross gen playability.
Games like FIFA 21 don’t work cross gen, so if I only had the PS5 version available to me, I can’t play with friends. So having the PS4 version available allows me to play with friends, but I can also download the PS5 version to get next gen features when I play by myself.

@12:50 You claim that you need to buy a Dolby license for atmos for your 7.1 system (also lol @ soundbar being on the floor and killing any atmos sound from the top), that is not accurate. You need to buy the license to use it for headphones. It works fine with a normal surround system. Even if it did not, you can use the uncompressed 7.1 option, or the Dolby Digital option for your 7.1 system.

Can u buy a monthly game pass on Xbox and download games but then when the monthly subscription ends would u still have all the games downloaded?
Yes you will have them download but you wont be able to play them until you renew your subscription
I’ve also had trouble with stick drift on the ps5, but it hasn’t been as severe as Josh’s.
Fair comparison, only the questionable reliability of PS5 controller makes me feel that I'm not missing that much with my "old school" Xbox controller :-) Btw. availability could have been mentioned, of course as a disadvantage for both contendors :D
FYI, you can charge the PS5 controller with one of those cell phone battery packs while you play on the couch, but if I remember to drop it in the charger at night, its always kept me going for the full day.
Mine doesn’t last more then 3 to 4 hours tops. My Xbox controller lasts about 10hrs. So I’m able to use it for two days of playing before charging. Ps5 I have to stop and let it charge while it’s on.

2 years since this video came out, and I don't have any of those consoles. I'm leaning towards the XBOX, though. Game pass is a beast of service. So many games for much less money. And it looks like the performance has a higher standard

Just 1 area I want to raise though…. Why did you place your LG sound bar on the floor? That literally makes no sense…. And the Dolby Atmos on Xbox only requires you to download the Dolby app. When using a Dolby Atmos surround system, you don’t have to pay. It’s only Dolby Atmos on headphones that you pay the subscription for.
I know this because I have the Xbox One X and a Onkyo 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos setup and the app and all Atmos content works fine without any cost involved
You should have added movies comparisons as this is very important for many home theater enthusiasts
From one review I saw it's so hard to tell the difference. The only way you can tell is if you have them right next to each other. 4k blue ray players now a days do a good job with movies that even a dedicated blue ray doesn't really look any different than consoles.

The ps4 version of the games are if u want to play with ur family and they dont have ps5 controlers so they can use ps4 controllers but with ps5 games u cant use ps4 controllers
