I feel like since the new Switch uses The old pro controller that pretty much confirms backwards compatibility

With whatever the system ends up being, if the Switch 1 “cloud version” releases get “non-cloud” Switch 2 digital ports there had better be an upgrade path to the Switch 2 port as a show of good faith to customers.
That's on the publishers of those games
@@TonyJenn Ya I know… It’s just wouldn’t be a very good look for the publisher to make those loyal customers double dip on an upgrade like that, I don’t think cloud sales are all that high to begin with, and would be more of a way to encourage people currently limited to a Switch 1 to still buy those games if they have the intention of picking up a Switch 2 down the road, knowing they can get the localized port when they do upgrade. Plus I’m sure it would make it easier for the publisher to one day close the servers down for those Switch 1 cloud versions if there’s a next gen digital version with an upgrade path available to the customer.
Don't think Capcom will allow some kind of update or transfer between the cloud versions of their Resident Evil titles on the Switch for Nintendo's next console, I don't even think they'll port those games at the same time, they'll probably release them gradually, first with Resident Evil VII and then the rest. Same thing with Square-Enix and the Kingdom Hearts' games
@@pablocasas5906 Capcom offered completely free upgrades for Resident Evil games to next Gen for Xbox and PlayStation so if anyone I could see them offering some sort of upgrade path at some point.
@@tonylaranjo I guess, but we'll have to see if Nintendo will offer graphical upgrades for some Switch games. I can see the console being backwards compatible, but Nintendo hasn't really made something akin to what Xbox or PS have done
As for the Resident Evil games, I think it helps that those games ran natively on other systems, with the cloud ports I don't think Capcom will apply the same thing, I think they will rather expect people to buy the Switch 2 ports for RE VII, Village and the remakes for 2, 3 and 4
Personally, I’ve gotten used to the size of the Steam Deck. The weight improvement for OLED is more than welcome, though!
I wouldn't be surprised if a new Animal Crossing drops super early in the Switch 2 launch year. The devs already have all the HD models and assets, which is a massive time saver. They're not going to scrap all of that and start over. They're also done with Splatoon 3, so I would guess AC is definitely in the works as we speak.
Contrary to popular belief, Nintendo doesn't seem to have that rigid of a team set-up, so Spla doesn't stand in the way of a new AC at all.
But I also think a new one will launch fairly early.
I think the magnetic feature will just help the Switch lock into place with a similar rail connection. I know currently some people who connect and remove their joycon often the rail system connection does get looser allow the joycon to slip off easier. If magnets help lock it into place better that just makes the system a bit more secure. Currently there’s a physical button to lock the rail into place which is prone to wear and tear this would eliminate that weakness. Hopefully they also have a great solution to eliminate the drift issue.

Yah, magnets alone sound like a mistake, but what do I know...I need to see a killer line up of games before I think about a new Switch!
@@joeb2588 Nintendo is probably going to announce a new Mario Kart for the Switch's successor, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold over 60 million copies (68 in you include the original version) and it was an updated version from a WiiU game. I'm sure a new MK would be a complete killer-app. Metroid Prime 4 could be another launch title, the development has taken so long that I think it has to be a cross-generational game like how Breath of the Wild was
As for third-parties, there won't be any exclusives or games made with the Switch 2 in mind, we'll probably some ports from games that weren't released or couldn't run on the Switch like Resident Evil VII, Village and the Remakes of 2, 3 and 4, Street Fighter 6, Persona 3 Reload, ReFantazio, Elden Ring, NieR Replicant, Visions of Mana, Final Fantasy XV, GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, Tales of Arise, Baldur's Gate 3, Hi-Fi Rush, Genshin Impact, among others
I agree. Like, one awkward move and those Joy-Cons could easily detach accidentally with just magnets.

If Reynatis is announced as a release title for Switch 2 I'll probably hold out to buy it with Switch 2. Looks like an incredible addition to the JRPG space though.

I definitely want to support the Hunter Hunter. I know nothing about that anime series but I’m also glad it isn’t a silly arena fighter.
I already have Biomutant for XB1X. It’s okay. There were times I had no clue what to do, but I’m sure it’s been updated since I played it. Raynatis looks cool! Looking forward to the RPG Action!

Any news about backward compatibility for Switch 2?
There's been a leak from some chinese forums users, which technically have been discussed privately but now they have been translated into English that said that the Switch's successor is backwards compatible and that Nintendo's new sytem game cards have a bump similar to the ones from the 3DS in order not to fit on the orginal Switch. The rumor also reported that the new console is backwards compatible with the Switch's original controllers via Bluetooh, but the Switch 2's controllers are a bit larger and have more buttons
Let just hope switch 2 is backward compatible and finally have KH trilogies on cartridge and run heavy games like arkham knight run at it was intended

It just sounds like an uograded switch not an entirely different entity which is what you would really want.

I think some companies like Apple use magnets for their charges, I've seen some comments in forums relating to Nintendo's rumors and they said the magnets for the MagSafe charging are pretty strong. I think Nintendo considered using magnets on the original Switch but the opted to use rails, but it seems that for some users the rails wore out over time

it doesn't matter to me if video game hardware has alot of games or don't have alot of games only have little bit of games, it also don't matter to me if it has exclusives or don't have no exclusives at all even sales don't matter to me at all to be honest i love the new atari vcs pc/console hybird better than playstation, xbox and nintendo switch i'm not a fan of nintendo, sony and microsoft i'm more of a atari and sega fan that's just my difference unpopular preference because i don't like popularity at all i just never care for popularity i think popularity is overrated i love prefer unpopularity better than popularity even the new atari vcs 800 made me a new atari fan i be on that more often i think atari vcs 800 is a great best unpopular underrated video game hardware it's my favorite hardware that's all i love everything they are doing i just love embrace them for who they are being there real true self i don't think they have to be certain way being someone they are not just to please others that's just me i want to say about atari now i also want to talk about i think it would be amazing i want to see is my wishlist i hope the next gen nintendo hardware handheld undock mode is 1440p resoulution xbox series s level power graphics spces and 4k resoulution ps5 level spces graphics on dock tv mode

Nothing wrong with LCDs but Switch 2 should have OLED. To say that it’s poor practice for a video game company-one of the richest companies in Japan no less-to include LCD as a raw material of their products, is sheer ignorance of business and economics practice.
