In this episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Chanel Sprieman, a distinguished legal professional who has seamlessly transitioned from the courtroom to the world of data privacy and risk management.
Chanel obtained her LLB Degree from the University of Pretoria and further enriched her knowledge with a certificate in Afrikan Feminist and Gender Studies from the Thabo Mbeki Afrikan Leadership Institute. After completing her practical legal training and articles of clerkship in Johannesburg, where she gained hands-on experience in contract law, litigation, and property law, Chanel's career took an exciting turn.
Now, as a Risk and Compliance Officer for a leading technology company, Chanel leverages her expertise in legal advising and general compliance. She has advised on data privacy across multiple industries, including information technology and manufacturing.
Outside of her professional life, Chanel is an avid music lover and outdoor enthusiast, recently discovering a passion for hiking and exploring new places.
