You’re the only video that has shown this and where it’s at on a newer model. Thank you so much holy hell. Great video!!

Many thanks for this video, Usman! I'm just curious how did you manage to keep the chain guide out of the way while installing the tensioner and while the tensioner was out? As I'm afraid that keeping the chain guide loose could be risky and cause the chain to skip. Then I'd be in a world of pain!

Very good video, is there a certain amount of turning the crank like a 1/4 turn or a full turn or just enough to hear the pin released itself and we're good to go? Thanks

You just watch the lever on the tensioner as you rotate crank counterclockwise. Once it lines up with the pin hole you stop

Can you describe in writing how to go about removing the tensioner again? I am about to do a swap on my toyota camry 2012. It rattle when first start up and during driving (left, right, and straight while stepping on the gas peddle). I didnt fuller understand the warnings and tips and tricks you were explaining before removing the tensioner bc you didnt have it film.

That rattle isn't that tensioner. It's the cam phaser.

Thanks pal! And no. You can push the timing chain guide to allow tensioner plunger one more click to be sure you have enough tension upon startup. Also crank it for gas pedal to the floor to build up oil pressure. Do it for 10s at least twice.

@@Usmanthemecano I'm from the Houston area, lol. Small world. So this solved the rattling issue entirely? I ordered an OEM tensioner, but can't find the inspection port gasket anywhere to order. Crazy, lol. Thanks again.
