Marion was not incompetent at all in the first film. She was kind of a damsel, but she only found trouble due to her proximity to Indy. She was also tough as nails.

      @Armaldo468 Před 2 měsíci

Yeah, her only problem is simply that she wasn’t given much to do in the movie. Fairly solid character with very little opportunity to actually contribute. It’s kinda that always-frustrating Dragon Ball Z effect, if you get my meaning. (If not, the gist of what I’m getting at is that a lot of characters in DBZ were very well established as extremely capable, competent, and strong, yet most of these characters were consistently under-utilized and even outright misused for jokes. As someone who loves that legendary old franchise-and indeed, Dragon Ball Z is one of very few anime I even like-this is my main gripe about it. So much wasted potential, so frustrating.)

The Malamute we see at the start of the film is the one Indy is named after & is a nod to George Lucas’s own dog. During the time when Lucas was writing Star Wars, his own Malamute would sit next to him in the front seat of his car whenever they went out for a drive. This hairy co-pilot Lucas had, gave him the inspiration for Chewbacca!!
The boat chase, wasn’t actually filmed in Venice. It was shot at Tilbury Docks near London; virtually all the studio shooting for this film….as with the previous two films was carried out at Elstree Studios.
Hitler was played by Michael Sheard; older fans will remember him as Mr Bronson in Grange Hill….as well as Admiral Ozzel in The Empire Strikes Back.
Heinrich Himmler was played by Ronald Lacey; who previously played Toht in Raiders of The Lost Ark.
Walter Donovan was played by another former Empire Strikes Back cast member; Julian Glover was General Veers. Glover was also the voice of Aragog in Harry Potter. However my favourite role of his was as Colonel Breen in Hammer Films excellent ‘Quatermass & The Pit’ from 1967.

Important to note: Indy and his dad aren’t immortal now. The immortality effects of the grail stop when you pass the seal in the temple, or maybe when the grail is taken past the seal. “That is the boundary and the price of immortality.”
Maybe continued drinking is required. It’s not entirely clear. In the novelization the knight explains he aged a year for every day he didn’t drink, so that’s why he’s older, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he stopped being immortal when not drinking, he just lost youth.

Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade is 35 years old!
I remember my late dad had it on vhs tape recorded
The film works tremendously thanks to the perfect chemistry of Ford and Connery; their wit full banter is so much fun seeing them bounce off back and forth
Considering Indy didn't have a perfect upbringing and his father was more obsessed with artifacts and his studies than his own son would create a rift
There's a few touching scenes highlighting that Indy deep down has a big respect for this man who's let him down time and time again
The score still works by John Williams, there's plenty of fun action set pieces from a plane shootout to a tank chase in the desert to a pursuit by Nazis via motorcycle, some impressive special effects with the Holy Grail itself, and there's many lighthearted moments
The writers cleverly insert a lot of the Arthur legend with Christian mythology
There's also a great theme of fathers and sons, the true treasure is the love and acceptance we seek from our parents, teaching our kids self reliance is either beneficial or harmful, taking a leap of faith is all it takes, there's a price for immortality choosing wisely or poorly, seeking illumination is more valuable than treasure
Sadly River Phoenix as young Indy passed away at a young age and many fans and critics would've preferred this to be the final film
But two sequels did follow allowing the legacy of this character to live on for newcomers
'Last Crusade' has a very accessible plot and developed the main character's backstory even more making the emotional crux of the film work while also capturing the classic B-movie thrills of those old serial adventures
It's right up there with 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' recapturing the same magic that made these films so special

Knew Last Crusade would be Alyska's favorite of the trilogy because of the fact Alison Doody makes a good of a villain as she is beautiful.

The final location, where they find the Holy Grail, is the tomb of Al-Khazneh meaning "The Treasury" in Arabic. It's one of many structures carved into and from the pink sandstone of the ancient city of Petra in modern day Jordan.

The pen was an old fashioned type where the ink was siphoned into the pen from an ink bottle, rather than a cartridge. By reversing the siphon, the ink can be squirted out.

It's not - Raiders is. But Crusade is still a very fun film with plenty of iconic moments, and you are entitled to your opinion.

Young Indy became Belloq, just with his idol's leather jacket instead of a tailored suit. A shadowy reflection indeed.

7"01-It's because in real life Ford's been voted People Magazine's "Sexiest man of the year" 3 times Between '80 and '91. Even some of his female co-stars have admitted they crushed on him. I loved how Connery finally put the ghost of James Bond behind him for good in this movie, and their chemistry was great. My biggest laugh was the "No ticket" scene on the blimp!

Um the first movie was a strong woman. Did you not notice that? So the 2nd movie switched it up. That was only a small part of the entire plot. But also she became strong by the end. You know, how normal spoiled rich people become after some REAL events happen to them. Literally there is nothing to complain about there

You should watch the Sean Connery James Bond movies cuz Sean Connery not only was James Bond in the 60's, but he also plays as Indy's father in Last crusade.
