- Producers and camera crews for the television show "How It's Made" visited our Tulsa facility over a two-day period to capture the interior of the plant and our various production processes to illustrate school bus manufacturing from start to finish.
The show aired on November 14th, 2013 on the Science Discovery Channel USA. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
My Dad owned his own bus and contracted with the town for years, then when the town bought their own busses, he drove for them. His first bus was a 1941 Ford, then a 1955 Ford / Thomas. His last bus was a 1972 GMC / Thomas. He put in about 50 years as a school bus driver.
Thank you for building these buses for northwestern school district so we can get to school
Thank you for building these buses so we can get to school
Stfu 😂
I’m a bus driver and I’m happy to hear that
I’m watching this because 1. It’s interesting and 2. I’m here because of ClawBoss from TikTok.
Same
same and also when I was in school this was my school bus
Same here bruh
same tbh, I love clawboss
"The plywood floor will absorb noise." Yep, and a ton of water from the leaky windows, which will never dry out and will eventually cause that shiny steel floor to rust through. I'm building a skoolie, which is a school bus converted to a motorhome, and almost 100% of the time when the new owner of a used school bus pulls up the floor, they find rotten plywood and rusted steel floors (sometimes, as in parts of my bus, just the rotten plywood because the steel underneath is entirely rusted away). American school buses really are engineering marvels (sorry, different channel) but those engineers turned the "long-term waterproofing" slider to zero.
My bus is a 2016 ICCE 300 and it doesn't even have rust
@@FrustratedCat33 that’s cause it’s a 2016…
Icky! Did I see a horrid maxxforce going on that “shassy?” Lol
My school district used to have a billion of IC CE busses, but a lot of them have been replaced with fancy Thomas C2s. I’ve only been on the CEs a handful of times for field trips at my old elementary school. I don’t see them that often in my home-county anymore. The 2nd generation of CEs has been around just as long as the Nissan Frontier.
Beautiful busses
Nice buses
Is this Tulsa Oklahoma?
Yep! Tulsa Bus Plant.
Love the way she says Shassy 😍
I see why these rust out so quickly. Most of our IC fleet has had the stairwells replaced. It looks like little to no rust prevention is done.
Also because we fuck around and drop water when its being welded and because of the shity welds they let pass qc
@@soltribeprojects2055 wow...
@@soltribeprojects2055you work there if you do Ty for telling the truth that’s why our district never buys ic buses
Thank you for building these buses so we can to school
There's nothing like driving a brand new bus for your school route...
Alvin McCranie You Said It
Because it's the only time it will be clean?
Because the rivets are still tight and don’t creak ?
Thanks in a million. Great content. Awesome. Grade: A++💥
Imagine seeing a bus frame and a bus hood driving on the road
Thanks @clawboss!
3:59 I never noticed until now that IC used the old logo on the second-gen CEs, whereas the third-gen CEs feature the current IC logo.
I love riding the bus
My district retired our Freightliners and our C2 ‘s and gave us the CE’s
Wow! IC makes a very handsome bus!
But very weak and it doesn't last long
callofdutyguy9 you are right
..It does last long e_e
Who's here after clawboss
Me 😌 😬😅
The ic buses just look like 18 wheelers😂
I drive the SAME EXACT BUS.
And other then the heat not working, this is the ONLY bus that drives like a car.
But international buses suc anyways cause the muffler plugs up with so much build up, you can drive past 25 mph cause it’s clogged!!
Then straight pipe it 😎
Cool
Nice video
Installing fiberglass insulation without much PPE?
Tesla's list below just scratches the surface of the poor quality of IC busses. But hey as a mechanic my paycheck depends on an expensive to maintain vehicle. When we switched over to Thomas/Cummins a few years ago it was a scary change as we were not making the constant trek to a dealer for warranty repairs/recalls/updates ect. We were actually worried we might get laid off. Some of our CE200's have as many as 50 warranty claims on ISIS/Oncommand. By comparison our Thomas busses only a few have been in for warranty and most have not been to a dealer yet . SO far the only problem areas we have found with Thomas is corrosion in some wiring ,rusting out coolant tubes and short life of passenger heater blower fans, radiator tanks corroding.
OH, I can really scratch deeper:
ICs have heater hoses that burst open and get all over the drivers feet/legs. The heater core by the driver has a stupid as hell valve that leaks (you'll see coolant run down the left side fender/mudflap) The S shaped blue hose behind the Alternator burst open too. The service doors might as well be made from rice paper, the bolt inserts loosen and crack the metal (door) The lock bar screws on the emergency door will eventually just rip out like they were screwed into cardboard. The seatfoam padding sucks and you can feel the metal framing easily up top. The MaxxForce motor when shut off the injectors drain/loose prime SO when the bus is restarted it chugs and bucks at first making the driver think something is wrong. The wiring management is a joke! Roofs that leak and get on the driver's seat cushion
AM/FM antenna's top nut will fall off and the whole thing will fall down onto the stop sign. Transmission cooler lines that will RUST (use undercoating spray!) O-Rings in the fuel rail that break down and the bus will not start when hot.
IC= Inferior Crap!
***** puerile comment
Nikola Tesla So whats your verdict on the Thomas C2 SafT Liner?
Extreme Tutorials
Never touched one of those, here in central Ohio it is IC or BB
I know the Thomas brand (body) Freightliner had years ago with the 3126 Cat.. those are long gone around this area
Extreme Tutorials q
Cummins or maxxforce engine?
Michael Kuzma dutton cummins bro. never that piece of crap maxxforce.
The internationals usually have the cummings motor in them
How does it add up to 12.5 tons? It looks so light!

Failure either color bus is very beautiful
I ride bus 784 at Duval county and the seats are blue
Do they build commercial buses?
Yes go to a international truck dealer!
International
137
this is a question for international can you guys make a 14 row bus instead of 13 rows my normal bus has 14 rows and it's a bluebird all American school bus and it has 14 rows
je voudrai commander
The driver slider windows rattle and tick, very annoying junk, on my 3rd ic and everyone ticked n rattled,
That's why we switched to blue birds
Hi I’m going
Col schoolbus
Thomas can't compare to the international ic. the ic turns on a dime hate the Thomas busses from a drivers point of view
Thomas rides better, but IC slays in visibility, driver ergonomics, and turning radius
hyyyyu
Nice looking bus, terrible engine though! Switch over to Cummins!
is there seat belts? because if there are. then MMMMMMMOOOOOOORRRRRRREEEEEEE SSSSSSSCCCCCCCHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLL BBBBBBBUUUUUUUSSSSSSSEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!
