My daughter loves ponyo. She watches it at least 5 times a day. Although I have only SEEN bits and pieces of the movie, I have listened to many many times as I seem to have no choice in the matter. The beginning when this song plays is my favorite part.
This gorgeous song along with Ghibli's vivid animation of the ocean make Ponyo a work of art, even to those who may have not liked the story. I wish Hisaishi composed more vocal themes in this operatic style, it's just gorgeous :')

Humpback whales breaching, schools of herring boiling out of the water around our boat to evade packs of blue rockfish. Absolutely magical.
Her voice is so beautiful I love it. I put ponyo almost every night to go to sleep too her and I don’t even make it past her singing. It’s so beautiful and relaxing I’ll be would put this on repeat now that I found her ❤️❤️❤️
