  • Films spanning from the mid 50s to the early 70s of the Erie New York Division from Pavonia Terminal in Jersey City to Tuxedo, New York. Includes a ferry ride from the Erie's Chambers Street ferry slip in Manhattan to Jersey City, and long gone scenes of the steam powered swing bridge over the Passaic River and the tracks running through downtown Passaic. Other than immediately in Jersey City and through downtown Passaic all of this trackage remains under NJ Transit. And before anyone asks, yes this was used by Mark I Video back in the 1980s.

This is great! Gives you a good idea of the volume of traffic during that time.

0:00 that’s great. Thanks. Spotted that 40’ gray boxcar with maroon Erie Lackawanna lettering. Remember buying a Varney H O replica. Probably 1962-3. Maybe 8 or 9 years old.

They really ran mixed trains like the one at 26:30, with piggybacks mixed into a passenger run? Haven't seen that before.
